Dewey Jenkins took over the business in 1990. By the time Dewey took over, ""Morris Heating & Cooling Co."" had 12 staff members and a solid reputation for honesty and quality, but no service department.

Dewey continues Luther's legacy of honesty and has also emphasized another key idea: ease of doing business for customers.

Morris-Jenkins, like its competitors in Charlotte, was open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and offered minimal emergency services after hours when Dewey assumed control in 1990.

In response to customer needs, Morris-Jenkins led the way by offering evening and weekend services without additional fees.
