Jose came out to our house a couple weeks ago for two gas wall heaters having issues. One is over 30 years old and we couldn't believe that Jose actually got it working! I thought for sure we were going to have to replace it. It was such a HUGE relief because the other repair companies that I spoke with before Jose all said the heater would need replacing for $1800, before even seeing it. And I can't help but think that they would have just replaced it for that $1800 sale, rather than try to even fix the original. And the newer (4 year old) wall heater was fixed as well. Jose replied to my initial call immediately which was in the evening, gave me an approximate cost on the phone, came out the next day, and came in under his phone quote. He was also kind enough to take a look at our gas fireplace as our tenants couldn't figure out how to get it on, and Jose took the time to coach them on how to get it going.
We'll definitely call Jose for any future needs. We were extremely pleased! Thanks so much Jose.

Jose answered the first time when I called and was upfront about the cost for an emergency vs non emergency service call. He gave me the next available appointment early on Monday and was done in less than an hour. He thoroughly explained to me what the issue was and gave me some practical tips on how to avoid any future issues. My 1947 gas floor furnace wouldn't fire up the heater after the pilot was lit. Another plumber quoted over $500 after a quick free inspection but he ""would call me back when he had the parts"", which never materialized despite three weeks and many calls back and forth. After several no-shows I went back to searching for a reliable plumber. Not all plumbers who service heaters are willing to take on the old behemoth whole-house gas floor heaters. I found some with appointments in a week, but Moreno was available now, on a Saturday -- no extra fee and he showed up within the hour. He was polite and professional and had parts in hand. For $300 total my heater was working within 2 hours of calling. Should've called him first! He does have a $150 service fee for the Westside, but he told me if he comes, he's going to fix it. None of this ""I'll be back"" stuff if he takes your money. He charges $125 closer to home in Lynwood. Another thing I liked-- it was a school holiday and he had his son and nephew along to observe. They got great career training just by tagging along. Lucky boys. I will hire Mr. Moreno again.

My sister loves yelp, so I decided to give it a try. Extremely delighted that on my first try I found someone who knew what they were doing! My in-laws called ""a plumber guy"" who came to unclog our drains. The house toilet wasn't working and it all backed up and out through another toilet. The ""plumber guy"" unclogged a drain but the next day everything backed up again and now through a drain that's next to my door (I live in the back). Rain was forecasted all week so I bought sand bags to help keep the rain water away from my door. Unfortunately, the whole back yard got flooded and it was a scramble to keep all the water away from going inside. ""Plumber guy"" came back, didn't know where it was clogged from and said he would be back the next day with someone who had a camera. All this happened while I was at work. I came home, saw the mess and got on yelp. Closest plumber to me, read the reviews, asked for a quote and then called. He quoted me 2 prices depending on what he had to do. He suggested if I waited until the next day it would be less, but I was worried about the rain so asked if he could come right away, it was already 6pm. I sent him my info and he was at my house within 15 minutes. Took him less than 5 minutes to figure out what was wrong and then another 30 minutes to run (I'm guessing) a snake through a vent on the roof that went under the house and into a main drain. When he said he was done, I was like ""huh?"" That's it? I couldn't believe it! Checked all the drains, water was gone. Flushed all the toilets and they worked. You have no idea how good it feels to know I won't have ""floaties"" in my back yard or wake up swimming in rain water! This is a number I'm saving in my phone! Did I mention he was friendly and easy to talk to and didn't mind my nosy neighbor hanging around watching him work, lol.
