We had significant damage in our guestroom from a leak in the apartment above which went unnoticed for several days and by then required that sections of the wall and ceiling be exposed to dry it all out. We then contacted Moreno Construction to repair, replaster and paint the affected areas. This was done expertly in just a few days, with extra care given to the architectural details and upholstered walls. Mr. Moreno and his crew were extremely pleasant to deal with, very clean and very professional. We also had a problem with the radiator cover in our panelled dining room which they replaced. I would recommend them without hesitation and look forward to working with Eloy and Michelle on future projects.

I requested a quote to replace my parents front porch stairs. My father is handicapped, and we needed to get it replaced before we can put a wheelchair lift on it.
I was working with Michelle. They quoted ~$5k, but when I asked if we could reduce the cost slightly by adjusting the project scope, they went completely dark. I called and emailed multiple times without response.
I guess the job just got too small for them? Not sure, but would have appreciated them just telling me, if that was the case...
Waste of time. Bummer.

We had Moreno Construction recently remodel two bathrooms consecutively this past spring/summer. It was a project that my husband and I had been planning on for some time, and we were obviously excited/ nervous for the process to begin. Once we met Eloy for the estimate we immediately knew we had found the perfect contractor we were always hoping to find. Not only did he make us feel comfortable from the beginning but his insight and ideas were exactly what we needed. We had our ideas but once he threw in his experienced knowledgeable ideas, our excitement grew. Throughout the entire process Eloy and his whole crew were not only the nicest and professional group of guys, but their work is top notch. Even when we through last minute changes or curveballs at them, Eloy's response was ALWAYS... ""not a problem"". Their work exceeded our expectations and we are ecstatic with the final outcome. Dealing with Michelle in the office could not have been more pleasurable. If we had a question about ANYTHING she immediately responded to us. Again, we are so grateful that we found Moreno Construction and could not recommend them any higher. We look forward to working with them again VERY SOON !!!

Our project was to remodel our kitchen, install recessed lights throughout the house, convert existing wood-burning fireplace into gas fireplace, rebuild our fireplace mantel, finish our garage, build a laundry area, and rebuild/reinforce our storage deck in our garage. We spent 2 months looking for someone to work on it. First, it was not even easy to have contractors to bid for our project (many never replied to our emails). Luckily, we found and contacted Moreno Construction on Yelp, and Eloy was able to come at 8am on a Saturday Morning.
We got around 4 bids in total (after contacting 10-15 contractors), and chose to work with Eloy, since we were very impressed by Eloy's understanding of the technical details during our discussion. We asked a lot of questions, and Eloy was patient to answer our questions. Also, his suggestion on how we should build our garage storage deck made the most sense to us. Furthermore, Eloy was able to take care of permits and inspection, while many other contractors asked us to get an owner's permit. We'd want to have a licensed contractor apply for permit and handle the inspections, so this was a huge plus for us
The remodeling took a bit longer than we hoped, but it was because of the Kraftmaid cabinets we purchased ourselves. During the second week of our project, Eloy and his crew carefully inspected our cabinets for manufacture flaws and found quite a few dents and chipped paint. Instead of asking us to use the flawed cabinets, Eloy encouraged us to contact the vendor to get replacements, and we followed his suggestion. We then talked to the cabinet vendors and found out that it would take ~6 weeks for some critical parts to arrive, yet Moreno Construction was able to wait for our cabinets to arrive!
We were quite picky on the details throughout the project, but as long as we told them how we would like it (or why we thought it could be done better), they were able to make the adjustments, such as truing the outlets, cabinets, removing flaws in the grouts, patching hairline cracks and chipped paint. Also, some of our Kraftmaid cabinet doors were so poorly made that some required 3-4 replacements to get it right. Remarkably, Eloy and his crew were patient enough to help us replace the door again and again!
A few months after the remodeling (after we have paid in full), we saw water coming out under the wall behind our washing machine. We thought there might be a leak and contacted them. They came to our house the next day and opened up the wall for us without charging us. The leak turned out to be a leaking fridge on the other side of the wall and had nothing to do with their work. They then patched the wall for us, and we only paid for the extra paint they bought for us to repaint the wall! I can tell that they take a lot of pride in their work and take the responsibility for the quality of the work.
We're really happy that we've used Moreno Construction. Looking back, hiring them was one of the best decisions we made for our remodeling. We'll definitely hire them for future home improvement projects.

Our home is 65 years old. Years ago we had iron railings placed on our front stairs. That contractor put cracks in the cement stairs and water started leaking in. Needless to say, everything under our stairs got wet, moldy, and the wood became rotten. We contacted about 10 contractors. 5 responded. Eloy construction was one of the 5. I liked his honesty and he suggested we might be able to repair the ""bad"" parts instead of a total replacement. He provided a competitive quote for these repairs. After coming in and removing the exposed rotten wood, they showed us just how bad the damage was - total removal and replacement of the front stairs was needed! Again, a ""very"" good price was provided and the work began. His lead guy (Jesus), was meticulous about all aspects of the job. Tearing it down, placing the framework, adding the cement, waterproofing, melding the stucco to our existing stucco, adding the iron railings back on (since ""code"" required them to add an additional step), and of course painting. Their crew cleaned up after themselves every day. They were here every weekday morning at 7:30 and worked until 5 or 6 pm. They did an ""Excellent"" job and even the city inspector was very impressed with their work (he came out about 4 times to inspect as the work was progressing). I can't emphasize just how happy we were with the entire job! We will be using them again!

We used Moreno Construction a couple of years ago for a bathroom remodel. We found his price to be fair and we had an easy time communicating with Eloy. There were a couple of issues that came up and Eloy immediately addressed those issues to our satisfaction. Bathroom looks great. Two thumbs up for Moreno Construction.

Eloy has done some work on our home. A chimney repair was OK (I think), but he replaced our stairs and porch about 6 years ago. There has been leaking from the stairs into our garage which has mold over the walls. We just had an inspection by another company who pointed out all the places there was leaking through the steps. Water proofing to prevent leakage was not adequately done. The stairs and porch were not slanted to along the water to drain. They had to come back and replace several of the stairs that had cracked. Now we have to have the mold in the garage removed and the entire stairs redone at a very high cost. Over the course of using this company, I left many messages that were not returned. I don't know if he took shortcuts to keep the price down but he certainly didn't take the care and time to point out how the framing wood (which he did not replace) was not pressure-treated and could be a problem. If you use this company, be sure to get a very good contract with specifics on how the work will be done.

Eloy and his crew are amazing. I unfortunately made the mistake of hiring the wrong contractor for a remodeling job, we parted ways but I was left with work that was incomplete and some of which was done incorrectly. I didn't know what to do, so I yelped contractors on the Peninsula and came across Moreno Construction. I called Eloy, we chatted about my remodeling project and he was at my house the following day. From the get go I was impressed with his level of knowledge, thoroughness and honesty. I'm extremely detailed oriented, ask tons of questions and Eloy was patient with me as he answered all my question, pointed out everything that needed to be done, how long it would take and he had a quote ready for me the next day. Eloy is a very busy, but he was empathetic about my situation and said he would make some time in his schedule to help me out. Three days later he was at my house with 6 of his guys. I was amazed with the amount and quality of work they were able to get done in such a short period of time. He and his crew take great pride in their work and have made construction into an art form. From now on Moreno Construction is the only contractor I will consider when it comes to any remodeling job at my home.
For some reason my post above was misplaced so I'm posting it again.

Don't call this man unless you have time to waste or a job worth his time i.e you are going to spend more than $10,000. Eloy came out, checked out what we needed, shook our hands, gave us his card and told us he would send us a quote first thing the next a.m..... NOTHING! I called to check a few days later thinking he was busy and he said he was driving and could he call back in 5 minutes...NOTHING!! My phone rang a day later and it was him-when I picked up he hung up. I thought maybe the call was dropped so I called back and left a message asking him to let me know if he was or wasn't interested in the job-NOTHING! Complete disrespect-be an adult and respond-lie even and tell me you don't have time or something...leaving us hanging is just annoying and rude not to mention bad business. Who wants to deal with a person like this??

Single women never get a break when it comes to requesting estimates from contractors. We're stupid af, we don't know better, and we're quite poor.
Eloy came to my new house, I pointed out a number of things I wanted done. He had the nerve to tell me that the kitchen would be the most important part of the work I should focus on. Since when does Eloy know about my lifestyle? Then he raises a concern about cost. Didn't realize he had tapped into my bank account. Typical misogynistic contractor. He promised to deliver an estimate within a week.
THAT WAS WEEKS AGO! Never heard from him again.
(The most important part of the project would've been my OFFICE, btw. I am an engineer.)
