Moore Home Services
Company Overview
Moore Home Services was established in 1991 in Sacramento, CA by brothers Kenny and Jerry Bell. Having spent over 25 years in the field, we have expanded our services to encompass plumbing, ductwork, insulation, and window solutions alongside heating and air. Our customers have benefited from over $5,000,000 in Home Energy Upgrade rebates, solidifying our position as a leader in California's Home Energy Upgrade Program for utility providers like SMUD and PG&E. Currently, we operate 140 service vehicles and employ 200 dedicated professionals who serve the greater Sacramento area and its seven neighboring counties, as well as Hayward and the Bay Area. It’s clear why we promise satisfaction every day of the year to our customers.
In 1982, Jerry and Kenny Bell enrolled in HVAC school in Phoenix, Arizona, where they mastered the fundamentals of heating and air. They graduated with honors and started working in the trades to learn the business. In 1985, they ventured into the pizza industry, opening a pizzeria in their hometown while simultaneously working for local HVAC contractors. The year 1991 marked the founding of Moore Home Services, beginning with one old pizza delivery truck turned service vehicle and a phone book advertisement. While making pizzas, they eagerly awaited service calls, swiftly changing their shirts to serve customers when the phone rang. By 1995, the HVAC division moved out of the pizza shop and into its own facility, hiring the first employees. Their aim was to become the leading heating and cooling service provider in the region. Moore Home Services has grown to be the biggest heating and air conditioning company in the Sacramento area.
Over 28 years ago, two brothers started Moore Home Services with a vision: to build a community of customers who would enjoy exceptional service and guaranteed satisfaction.
We have consistently aimed to provide our customers with top-quality heating and air services, now expanded to include plumbing, sewer, window replacement, ductwork, and insulation. We distinguish ourselves by offering continuous, high-quality training to our technicians, who take pride in their craftsmanship and care for your home. Experience the difference with Moore Home Services.

Recommended Customer Reviews

Excellent service and highly professional. Yes it was expensive but they are at the average price rate. Plumbing is more complex today and it's driving up the cost. What sets McDonald's Plumbing apart from most is that from the call for an appointment to the finished work, they are super efficient, timely, courteous, experienced and deliver what is promised. In fact, no unpleasant surprises.
In fact I plan to change out my water heater soon and I plan to use them again. I highly recommend them. They are not the cheapest but I suspect they are probably the best.
Don't waste your time to try to say a few bucks with lesser plumbers. These guys are serious professionals. They will do it right and save you the headache of having to keep calling a plumber back to fix something they should have done right the first time

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
My husband and I called this company to replace a simple hose bib. The plumber was there a total of 15 minutes. Only took 10 minutes to do the work. They charged us $211. That would be over $800 per hour! Unbelievable! I know they would not be in business if this is what they charged everyone.
I would call anyone else but this company, McDonald Plumbing takes advantage of senior citizens! Not acceptable!

There are plenty of other heating and air companies in the area, so you're better off choosing a higher rated one than McDonald.
With just a quick look over McDonald's reviews, it's very telling that the owner only responds to good reviews, he doesn't even attempt to address or settle problems with unsatisfied customers.
I had them install an entire central air system in an older home, and it didn't pass inspection because:
-They forgot to test the gas line.
-Installed an incorrect sized breaker.
-Something at the air handler was installed backwards.
Additionally, when I first used the heater, I noticed the AC condenser was starting up. They came and rewired the thermostat.
Two years later, the AC stopped cooling. A tech from another company found a bent-up valve installed, so that the coolant had been leaking from day 1. McDonald refused to accept responsibility. I paid to have the coolant refilled.
Six months later--yesterday, it seemed to happen again, so I called McDonald hoping they might find what else had been installed wrong, or some other leak. They scheduled for the afternoon. Nobody came, nobody called. It's 10am the next day and still no word.
You can easily do much better.
Luckily the AC started working fine as it got hot yesterday...some kind of blip. I'll have someone else look it over.

Had someone come out to take a look at our heating and AC system and ductwork. Also wanted to know about putting in a whole house fan. The first thing he asked when he arrived was ""who else are you getting estimates from?"" When I told him, he told me to cancel those appointments because they weren't good companies, which I though was highly inappropriate. After looking around, he said he would have to bring another guy with him to get a better idea of how to the job. They came back a couple days later, looked around again, and told me I would have an estimate soon. I never heard from them again--no estimate, no phone call, nothing. So I wasted two afternoons with these guys on appointments that lead nowhere, and if I had listened to him, I would also have canceled my other appointments leaving me even further in the lurch. Luckily I hadn't listened to him, and ultimately got the work done by one of those other ""bad"" companies. These guys are a waste of time.

McDonald has always been very reliable. I have had a few technicians out to my rental unit who have all been very friendly and efficient. I don't remember the first guy that came out but the second man that came was Darrel. He was so friendly and handsome, I even made him lunch. I would recommend this company to anyone.

The person that came to my home was very nice and explained everything well. I wanted a gas line run from the meter to the kitchen.
However, the estimated cost was more than double the amount than other quotes I have received from qualified contractors. I'm sure they are good but in my opinion much to expensive. Thankfully, I wasn't charged for the estimate.

Water heater running all the time + warm concrete floor in the bathroom. Putting these two together = I'm having a slab leak. Called the company, they scheduled a guy to come over in 2 days and told me it'll be $59.50 for the visit. I assumed I'll get the detailed estimate and the 'fee' will be paid towards the actual job if I decide to go with them.
The guy shows up, and without even going into the bathroom he gave me a price of $2,500 for a 'fix' or $7,000 for a 'replacement' of the whole water line. He was done and wanted to cash the 'fee'. I started questioning the estimate given he didn't even locate the leak. I said OK, since I'm already paying $59.50, why don't you fix my another - not related - leak under the sink. Possible fix - replacing a gasket. He said that would be a separate price. Instead of looking under the sink he looked into his 'book' and gave a price of $325. I asked him to get the f*** out and called the office. Despite their ridiculous price for replacing a gasket, they agreed that paying $59.50 just for his physical presence does not make any sense and waived the fee. Kudos to that.
I called a fiend of mine who recommended a local Mexican guy. In a meantime I found out there's another leak in the kitchen. The guy showed up, took care of 2 leaks, gave me a price for fixing the major problem (slab leak) and was done in 15 minutes. He wanted $75 for the whole thing. I gave him $80. Cash. I assume McDonald would charge me $325 x 2 leaks + 60 (for a fake estimate) = $710.
I will never, ever call McDonald Plumbing again. It's called a free market.

Customer Service is awesome from the estimate to the installation. Aaron is knowledgeable and responds quickly to questions. Joe's customer service skills are great and I was impressed when he called to inform me the installers were on their way. Matt and Gary are very friendly, polite and did a great job. I am very pleased with our new heat and air unit. Definitely will recommend McDonald plumbing Heating and Air to my friends and family! Thank you for the job well done, the nice thank you card and brownies.

I needed my shower fixed, l was making some phone calls for services on it and ran into McDonald's plumbing, l wasn't going to have estimate done, due to the fact they were the most expensive for estimates. But, the supervisor on the phone promised if l wasn't 100% happy he wouldn't charge me for this estimate.
I feel there very customer service committed. The price for the service was a bit high, so l didn't accept the job. But the supervisor on the quoted me 59$ and then when the person coming out to give the estimate said it was 89$? I wasn't so happy about the service and was told to call McDonalds plumbing Monday.
I made that call and they truely stood behind there word! I would trust them in the future but only if they lower there prices, cause my job was fairly simple.

Awesome customer service!!!!! My parents had nothing but glowing comments about the technician that came to their house recently to do some plumbing work so I gave McDonald a try. Glen was excellent, he explained the whole process to me and greeted me with a handshake and a smile. My sink is draining great once again. Thank you as well to Rhonda for also being kind and professional when I called to set the appointment. You are AWESOME and I will recommend your company to other friends of mine when they need a plumber. Many thanks.
