Joe has helped us several times on short notice with some problems in our condo. These were things that absolutely had to be taken care of. He did an awesome job and is absolutely great to work with. Even when he could have suggested justifiable solutions that could have cost thousands of dollars (that we were prepared to pay), he came up with even better and much cheaper solutions. He turned some major headaches into some minor annoyances. You need a plumbing job done, ask Joe first.

Honest, honest, honest....Isn't this what everyone looks for in any service provider? Our basement toilet was running and not stopping, and our shower had lost it's pressure. Tom came by, was ON TIME, like he said, and super courteous. He asked if he needed to take off his shoes, and even brought in our mail. He fixed the toilet, the shower, and gave us a great estimate for future work. It's an old house, and we know that we will need some re-piping in the future. He was there 20 minutes, problem solved, and a great price.

On time, courteous, did what they came for and nothing else, and all at an affordable price. We will call these guys first, that's for sure. And they're in Portage Park, so they're close!

These guys were fantastic! It is so hard to find a reliable, clean, and reasonably priced plumber anywhere and I finally found one. Not only were they really friendly, showed up quickly, but they did a great job. I even had them check out my toilet while they were here and he fixed it at no additional cost with a part he had in his truck. Definitely recommend him!

Moody Plumbing is great! I had a problem with a toilet that another person couldn't diagnose. Tom came over the day I called and had it fixed within an hour. And like others have mentioned, their prices are VERY fair. If you want a responsive, knowledgeable and well priced plumber with the attention of a small family business, these are your guys!

Yelp a plumber? Yes. A good restaurant you can always find, but a good plumber is GOLD. These fellows are the best. I just had so many problems with a sump system and torrential rain. A flooded basement, two days back-to-back. A nightmare. Tom shows up, problem solved. Fair prices. They have worked at my daughter's home; same review. And modern plumbers, up on everything as far as fairly complex sump systems were concerned.

I found Moody Plumbing on Yelp and chose them based on their written description of the company. I called and they immediately returned my call and scheduled to come out the next day. I was so appreciateive that they called first thing in the morning and gave me an estimated time, and he was 30 minutes early! When does that happen??!!? Tom was very friendly and super helpful. I think that pricing was competive, but very reasonable compared to other companies I have called for the same job. Tom even took the extra time to take a look at our second bathroom and give me ideas for a remodel. Very exciting. We will definitley be calling these guys first for any of our upcoming jobs! I like the small business feel and curteousness that you don't always get from the ""other guys""!

Follow up: After son, Joe, read the review, he sent a very apologetic note explaining he and the company's situation as it relates to distance, man power, short notice (apparently, they were sooo busy because of the storm and had many clients to service already), etc and even offered to do the work for free instead of the $350 originally quoted. I decline but am adding a star for the effort since it is so important to get GREAT reviews ; )

Moody Plumbing is exactly the type of service that you would hope for from all tradespeople. Efficient, courteous and honest service at a very fair price.

My wife and I purchased an older home with beautiful bones and with one owner, but as would be expected in this situation, many of the utilities were dated and needed upgrading. In addition we hoped to do some renovating of the kitchen, including restoring the gas line for the stove, moving a very large radiator, and changing the location of the plumbing for the sink. Our inspector also told us that the water pressure seemed quite low and that likely we needed to replace the main cold water line. After receiving several bids that seemed outrageously expensive and becoming worried that we would bust our budget on the plumbing alone (we hoped to upgrade the electrical, buy kitchen appliances, and install cabinets), we thought we were in over our heads. Joe Moody came to the rescue.

We called him at 8 in the morning and he was there early in the afternoon to provide an estimate. He carefully studied the situation and was very sensitive to our budget, providing several options for repairs that were most necessary. As he looked over the existing piping he voiced his disapproval of some of the previous workmanship and stated that he would clean up some of the mess beyond what we were asking for, with no additional charge-to me this was the sign of someone who truly takes pride in his work.

Joe's estimate came in under the three other bids we received, with a promise to start the next day and to finish within two days, half the time that other plumbers had estimated.

Good to his word, Joe arrived at 7:30 the next day with his partner Tom and it actually seemed that they would be done with the whole job by early afternoon. They slowed their pace somewhat (mainly because we had electrical work occurring simultaneously) and finished early the next afternoon as promised.

Besides being quick, the work was impeccable. Joe and Tom were neat in the way they laid out the pipe, were clean and focused, and were just plain nice and friendly guys who really seemed to take pride in their work.

If I or anyone I know ever needs any type of plumbing work in the future, I will be contacting Moody Plumbing again. Thanks Joe and Tom! You guys are awesome!
