Monkey Wrench Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electric has been a family-run business for twenty years, but our story goes back even further. Our founder began his career in plumbing with a company focused on commercial plumbing, but he quickly found that his real passion lay beyond just repairing pipes--it was in serving the community. He identified a chance to provide homeowners with a better, more client-focused service during stressful situations, and that vision led to the creation of Monkey Wrench. Initially a one-person plumbing operation has transformed into a complete home comfort service, adding heating, air conditioning, and electrical services. Now, our team of expert technicians--boasting over a century of combined experience--is dedicated to providing outstanding craftsmanship and five-star service at every opportunity. Our belief at Monkey Wrench is that homeowners should receive clarity, trustworthiness, and a team that truly cares. Discover the difference today!

I had a terrific experience with Monkey Wrench. We moved into a house that has spotty contracting work for most of the utilities and it's been very frustrating sorting them out. Thankfully when we needed our tankless water heater serviced we had Monkey Wrench do the job. The technician/plumber they sent out for the job, Ryan, was everything you want out of a plumber: friendly, knowledgeable, informative and he worked quick and effectively. Should any other plumbing issues come up, and eventually something will, we will call Monkey Wrench right away

My Navien tankless water heater decided to stop providing hot water and Monkey Wrench was among the specialists recommended by the manufacturer. Although I had to endure two days of cold water/borrowed shower time from relatives before their specialist was available, I was very pleased with their service and professionalism. Ryan arrived on time, was incredibly courteous, knew his way around the appliance, found the problem, did some trouble-shooting, and was able to provide a temp fix until the official part arrived a few days later. Basically, he saved me from taking yet another five days of cold showers! I highly recommend this company.

A TOTAL RIP OFF . Our water heater in a medium sized house needed to be replaced, so we ask them to come take a look at it and send us a quote. We received a quote for $15,500. OMG WTF. We ask another plumber for a quote and he came back to us with one under $2,000 for the same job. Monkey Wrench are a complete rip off and should be avoided at all costs.

We had great service again 10/21/16 and 10/24/16 by Daniel, for repairs to our bathtub stopper, toilet flapper, and electric water heater. On time, skilled, friendly, and even easy on the eyes. A tiny bit pricey (kids, take note: grow up to be a plumber and you'll have great job security!) but overall worth it for on-time, job done right! Great communications from Mary and Kevin at the office.

Ryan was Great! I have a Takagi tankless water heater, that was running loudly and often through the night. Ryan was knowledgeable, did not mind me asking questions and quickly diagnosed the problem. The issue was easily resolved and for a fair price. Also, he was not bothered by me watching him work. My previous experience with another technician from Monkey Wrench was not as smooth, however, Monkey Wrench, specifically Kevin and Nancy credited the initial diagnostic charge toward this appointment. That was Great customer service. I would definitely recommend Ryan and if I have future problems will ask for him specifically.

I have a Takagi tankless water heater that runs perfectly, but all of a sudden sprang a leak in what's called the ""heater treater"" (those blue tubes you see in the pictures). The one I had was older, and not really suited for my heater, as I later found out. Ryan of Monkey Wrench Plumbing came out on time, was extremely knowledgeable about Takagi heaters, and recommended a way to fix it myself cheaply. Unfortunately, my ""heater treater"" was so old that the replacement was not available, so I purchased a newer, better one, and Ryan came back to install it. He was efficient and neat, and explained things thoroughly. I am very happy with his work, and would recommend Ryan and Monkey Wrench Plumbing to anyone.

What happened to these guys? Yes, they revived our Takagi but they never mentioned adding new iso valves when we first had problems. Last time they came out....again clearly it wasn't the first time they had been out, the guy unscrewed the cover said I cannot service without iso valves and left. Hell yes we were charged a service call fee...service with a big FU. OMG never no more er Monkey A*& as they are now referred to at our house. When you came out did you not notice anything or could you not provide a professional opinion of the water heaters condition? Maybe at this stage in the game it's not best to have the old unit serviced. Or maybe you were only looking at bottom line of $737.67 to add the iso valves and service. Whatever the reasoning you have without a doubt lost a family for life. Thank you for showing your true colors before we had the opportunity of giving you a big job.

We have used this business multiple times. Each time the response time, the work done and the amount charged were impeccable.
Ruben, the technician that comes out every time we've called is prompt and professional. He looks and evaluates each problem and then gives us an estimate. He is exceptionally polite and exceptionally qualified for this job. He has been doing a replumb of our house which was built around the 1930's. He pulled the bad plumbing and began replacing it with copper pipe. It has been a week and he is here promptly at 8:30 and works until dusk. He is polite to the point of it hurting. We have a neighbor that can be quite cranky. While digging out the old pipe that ran along the property line the vibrations from their equipment may have cracked a 40 year old cement pond (the cement was old and had never been water treated). This occurred without anyone being aware of it. During the evening some of the water seeped from the pond. My wife and I had gone to the store and when we got back we found the above neighbor ranting and raving, screaming at Rueben. He was calmly trying to talk to the neighbor, but the neighbor was escalating his tone.
I took the neighbor aside and asked what was going on. He started claiming that we had damaged his pond and tried to yell at me and I never raised my voice. I said let me talk to these folks and I know that they will do the right thing by you. He mumbled several things under his breath and I went home.
Joe, the owner, showed up to talk to the neighbor and try to work things out beneficially for everyone involved. The neighbor in the meantime ""left"" and couldn't be found for two hours. When I tried to ask his live in yard cleaner where he was, all of a sudden he couldn't understand English. I told Joe that the neighbor went to the store and should be back shortly. After 2 hours the neighbor never came ""back"". So Joe told me to have the neighbor contact him so that they could work things out. This is the type of customer service that I am used to back home in NM, not here in Los Angeles. For the owner to try and smooth things out, to come out to our house during a very busy day for him is Top of the Pops for me. I would recommend these folks for any plumbing or heating issue no matter how large or small.
The replumb is almost finished and the water pressure is back up and we aren't losing water to the DWP any longer. God Bless Monkey Wrench!@
