Quick response and friendly service initially, but ridiculous overcharging for readily available parts.

Still no response. No follow up. I cannot edit the first review, but in case it was misleading as there was a typo - the manager did not charge me the $288 that the technician stated I owed. He also never called me to discuss as promised. The fact the tech did tighten screws and caused a slight leak and the fact the tech did not re-attach the float stop properly and caused a sizable flood will not be addressed. The fact I was told I needed a brand new machine and that I don't know how to work it when I only needed an $18 piston will not be discussed.

Buyer - please be aware. These guys are the worst of the worst.

After initially leaving a good review for them after I got their bill I was way overcharged . I pointed this out to the receptionist and she agreed and was reimbursed some of the money as the tech had grossly overcharged for parts and time .
I can't in all honesty recommend them as I don't like dishonest practices .

Initially called MJS because of a clogged toilet. Rodded it out for over $500, which I think is astronomical for that service.
During the visit I was told I would need about $10,000 worth of work which would entail EXCAVATING the front yard and TEARING OUT THE WALL in the bathroom.

Second opinion-did not need anything done.

MJS is wonderful! Backstory: After scheduling several times with other heating and cooling/plumbing contractors and having many visits postponed, cancelled or no shows...we remembered to call MJS. Why didn't we think of this sooner? We called late yesterday afternoon and Mary (who is a DREAM to work with) quickly set up an appointment for the next day at 9 am. (This is after we had waited nearly two months with other providers and then they no showed!!). Eric arrived promptly the next day, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem and answered some questions we had about maintenance of our system. He was so knowledgeable and professional. And the price was 100% reasonable. MJS will be our first call from now on. Thank you!!!!

Very responsive and solid pros. But watch out for the mark up on parts. I was charged close to $250 for a $40 valve and there were two valves in the project. After asking if they would re-consider lowering that mark up they said no. I will consider another plumber for future jobs.

Don't even consider them. Never have I been so offended by a company. Have had dozens of contractors and vendors come to our house to give quotes/estimates for work and have never once been charged. MJS had the audacity to charge me $140 for a ""diagnosis"" regardless of whether I choose to use them for service. We knew what was wrong and did not ask for a diagnosis, we asked for a quote for the work. When I said I hadn't agreed to that and wouldn't be paying, they threatened me by saying they would be reporting me to a debt collection agency. Absolutely absurd. I've filed a Better Business Bureau complaint but unless you're prepared to pay for LITERALLY nothing, I wouldn't go with this company.

We had an emergency with our septic tank around 9 am. I contacted MJS around 10 am, and they had someone here by 11 am. The issue became much more complicated than we thought, but Mike and Eric diligently and patiently worked until past 3 pm to figure it out. They walked us through everything, explained what happened, and what we need to do next. They were professional, thoughtful, and did a fantastic job at a fair and reasonable price. We stumbled upon MJS by chance via an internet search for ""plumbers near me."" They are now my go-to for any future issues.
