what a creepy company! They have a super aggressive approach and 'manager' that comes by after the inspection and plays a role. long story short, it's a overpriced scam and they stalked us for days with phone calls (even at 11pm), .

We spoke with Trevis from Mitigation this morning regarding our problems we are having with Serv Pro, CRDN, our insurance company, Connect to see if we can find a solution. Trevis was very helpful and knowledgeable about problems that Fire and water victims have had. We are looking forward to meeting Trevis in person to move forward.
Thank you,
Lorri Nelson and Russ Ciezata

Interesting that when I gave your lawyer your itemized bill of ""work performed"" in areas you did no work - I never heard from him again. I also find it amazing that I said I'd see you in court if you wished to continue to harass me for your inflated bill - and you went away because you KNOW you're complete frauds. I've had several people reach out to me to ask how to contest your scams. (One was literally the daughter of an 80 year old woman. Classy guys) I've told them you won't follow through because you know you're a fraud. Now - with this absurd ""update"" and your response loaded with the most asinine typos and grammatical mistakes - I know intend to follow through with my claims to inform the contractors union so you may not prey upon new homeowners again. You just poked the bear....
Also - for everyone our there - the pic of ""Mike H"" is fake. There is no Mike H. The fact that they are responding as this fictional character says all you needs to know about this business and their tactics. Find someone else guys. There's a lot of choices out there. *mic drop*.

We have leaks in multiple floors of our 3 floor plus rooftop condo along with 5 other condos in our development. During these past hard rains, I contacted Mitigation. Although, we have not begun the project, the great service extended thus far deserves to be recognized. Anna set a timely appointment to determine our leak detection costs, she called to confirm and then called to advise the technician was nearby, as well as a follow up call after. Alfredo, the leak detection technician, arrived timely, was friendly, careful and efficient ... putting shoe covers on and off as he moved in and outside, handled his ladder with care not to hit walls as well as measured and remeasured affected areas where questionable. In addition, Travis has been quite diligent in following up and offering assistance while our HOA goes through our required decision process. Great customer service!

EDIT 2-20-23: The false responses are hilarious. Embezzled?! Really guys? This is their latest attempt when they failed to bribe me to remove my truthful review. MULTIPLE people contacted me via Yelp having the exact horrible experience.
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!!
Summary:
Lied, overcharged, ran up bill to extract max $ from insurance, pressured with scare tactics, provided no paperwork / documentation when requested, cornered me into doing entire repair, extremely unresponsive unless it involved doing more work / being paid.
Why doesn't everyone give Mitigation a bad review? Travis (the owner) has one goal: keep you in the dark, thinking he's navigating insurance for you and you're getting a great deal. If you don't talk to insurance or another contractor, you'll never know what he's up to. Too many people just want the process to be over and don't understand they're being severely taken advantage of. Get a 2nd opinion!
My Story:
I had a slab leak. A plumber opened a wall and pinpointed the leak near the wall in the living room. I wanted it taken care of asap so I sought out a remediation company on Yelp. None were available until the following day. I called Mitigation. Spoke to Travis and said they could arrive same day.
Upon arrival, he brought his guy (who was nice - Alfredo?). They determined there was a leak and started moving furniture. He rushed me through signing paperwork. When asked, Travis said it committed me to doing the entire repair, not just leak detection. I immediately called my agent who told me not to sign. Travis then backed off and told me it didn't commit me. Shady.
I was told the entire living room floor was wet and needed to come out. Drywall needed to come out. Since the floor is continuous, I'd need to remove ALL the downstairs hardwoods, stairs included. Wow.
Over the next week they came out to tear the house up with promised deadlines coming and going. Travis told me to pay him my insurance deductible ($2k). I called insurance who said not to unless an invoice was submitted. When I told him he became extremely irate. I was accused of going behind his back and pressured me into paying him which I reluctantly did. Don't!
The next few weeks went like this. Insurance had not received anything from Mitigation. I would call, text and email to ask Travis to submit receipts & estimates for the repair. I was met with silence or BS answers. I was told NOT TO CONTACT INSURANCE. He said he is an expert in getting them to pay the max. That's true, but not to me, to him. I had no idea how much I was on the hook for already and he said he wouldn't provide an invoice until I signed a contract to do the rest of the repairs. Are you kidding? No way.
I asked repeatedly for an invoice for work done, copies of the paperwork signed, and an estimate for repairs. Radio silence.
After weeks they finally submit something to insurance, but just for the EMS (no estimate for repairing the torn up house). Insurance said the invoice was excessive and Mitigation came down just slightly to get under their metrics. Travis tells me he knows insurance companies use Xactimate for pricing and he does the same to get the max $. There were insane charges for mold that insurance caps coverage on, which means out of pocket for me. Turns out, he billed WAY more for mold than should've been.
At this point I've lost all trust and am speaking to insurance. Insurance sends an adjuster. Wasn't done initially - overloaded from the LA wildfires. The adjuster was a breath of fresh air. He arrived on time and gave clear estimates and understanding of the situation. He was shocked how much was torn up for the leak type.
I needed an invoice from Travis to close out. There was no way he was walking back in my house. Travis had previously agreed to lower the mold charges to the insurance limit, but now said he would put a line on the invoice that I would be billed the full amount if I didn't use him for the rest of the job! I refused. The result of days/nights of calls ended with me having to literally spell out the invoice for him and received something that looked like a child made in computer class. It took them 3 drafts! Travis literally said he wouldn't date the invoice because ""it make us look negligent for billing late."" WTF I had to pull teeth to get this invoice and would've paid weeks ago!
I submit invoice to insurance. Travis calls to harass me daily and demands a cashier's check! Travis received full payment within days of receiving the invoice despite taking weeks to receive the invoice.
Later, Mitigation called and solicited me multiple times for positive reviews on Google/Yelp. Wow!
If you have read this, please stay far, far away from Mitigation. Your home will be torn up. You'll be lied to, pressured and billed for unreasonable amounts of $. Mitigation is a parasite.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I'm a very positive person and look for the good in people. See my other reviews.

I am currently caught in a situation where I have been fighting for the safety of my entire family since late 2021 when ""Atmospheric River"" events began the deluge on the South Bay Area. For years my home in Redondo Beach has taken on so much damage as it's been rising, shifting, sinking like a bucking bronco. Pinhole leaks abound, pipes bending, gas lines pulling apart at connections, strobing lights and electrical illness throughout, front garage and upper bedroom separating from the main structure. Insurance company has never been able to figure out and connect the damage to where we could possibly be covered, plus we have no flood coverage due to FEMA rating us as a no flood zone! I have called many Restoration Companies for assistance, however none have been willing to step in/help unless there is an open insurance claim and guaranteed insurance coverage. We even offered to pay for the inspection and assessment, but was woefully declined every time. It has truly been a nightmare and we are now ALL afflicted with severely debilitating autoimmune mediated diseases due to overwhelming amounts of Stress (ROS) within our very unhappy home. Dogs having seizures, anxiety attacks and Pemphigus autoimmune skin disease, Daughter with out of control POTs (migraines, pressure sensitive, autonomic dysfunction, severe tooth erosion, vertigo, tinnitus, vomiting and blacking out almost daily), husband with atherosclerosis via vascular smooth muscle cell lymphotoxin receptors Pulmonary embolisms and DVT's, Pressure headaches, tinnitus, son with LADA Latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA) is a slow-progressing form of autoimmune diabetes, myself with Mixed Connective Tissue disease (excruciating pains somedays can't walk, wash or open door) since moving to the Redondo Beach in 2011 from Hancock Park. Our StateFarm Insurance has kept a claim open for us since Aug 2022 because they see unusual and damaging occurrences for a property so new, have acknowledged that we are all sick (and really want to help us!), however we/they lack the evidence needed to link everything together to where our insurance policy could possibly assist in any form. So far Insurance is unable to cover damage or health due to our policy coverage (lack thereof in this incident).
Arrival of the Cavalry!!! Hope on the Horizon!
The horrors on my property are far beyond the norm as it enCOMPASSes corporations, public utilities and the City of Redondo Beach. I have had to build my support team from the ground up. Mitigation Inc in Torrance, Travis and Tony have been both our Cavalry and guardians! With all the problems we are facing, the perfect match to work with our Geotechnical Engineer and Structural Engineer is Travis and Tony and the entire team to address (Discover and write necessary reports) and fix all of our issues. Mitigation Inc and Travis is the perfect team we need at our helm to properly maneuver through City of Redondo's complicated overwhelmed system of acquiring necessary and correct permits to show legal documentation which is absolutely necessary. Full disclosure is no longer taken lightly, frustratingly confusing and lengthy legal ramifications are serious delays. Purchasing this home out of foreclosure in 2011 was our greatest mistake. COMPASSion is what directs the Moral Compass of Mitigation Inc! I am lucky to find a business with this amount of integrity in our current troubled times! Thank you and God Bless you Travis and Tony!

Mitigation Inc. was extremely unprofessional. Travis preyed on our vulnerability of needing a company that would do water restoration on a weekend. Travis and his employees were unable to manage a proper paper trail and accused insurance company of conspiring against them. This a small fraction of problems. Please do not use them. I am fair and understanding but this company was horrible to work with.
-Did not provide proper documentation of cost of job in a timely manner nor provide insurance with what was needed.
-Poor communication(purposely hung up on me, did not take my calls)
-Slow or no contractors would show up to job when scheduled or did not schedule
-After began job sent email with paranoia of not being paid when job was not even completed.
-No communication for 2 weeks or sproradic
-Rude and off colored jokes to female tenants and owner
-Lied to homeowner
-Inflated costs for repairs sent to insurance company(fraud)
-Staff could not provide competent emails
-Continuously sent bills or paperwork for another job
-Stated insurance will pay for mitigation and testing and will only go after insurance company
-Trying to get money from me for work not done

Very knowledgeable people here! Mike and Tony took their time talking to me on the phone for a long time. They carefully listened to my problem and concerns. I am looking forward hiring them for my project. Thank you gentlemen!!

Mitigation was recommended by a neighbor via an online review. Mitigation solved my emergency plumbing issue in a timely manner. Mitigation also followed all of the permit requirements. Mitigation has hard working and good people.

We had a water leak presenting from conduit under our cabinet. We needed professional leak detection. They were supposed to come between 5-8 to get the work done. They had not shown up by 7:45, so I called them back. Got some excuses and then Travis shows up at 8:15. Failure Number 1. While they were supposed to be there to do the work, instead he spins a tale and then starts using a cattle prod leak detector. They had committed to non-destructive testing. Failure number 2. He then uses on my stucco outside, including the foam casing around the window and punctures holes in that - unnecessary damage now in need of repair. Failure Number 3. Then, during this whole process, he says he is not there to do the work, just to provide an estimate. Lie and failure number 4. Their stated price to do the leak detection was previously quoted. He then says his estimate is - it will cost alot. That's it. Fialure Number 5. So we lost a whole day of a continuing water leak which created more damage in our home because of their total lack of professionalism.
