Greatly exceeded my expectations!

I spoke to Mitch a few weeks back since I suspected that I'd have to replace my 26 year old water heater sooner than later. We discussed my options and he estimated that it would cost between $750 and $900, depending on what option I selected.

The water heater broke last Thursday night (way sooner than I had hoped!) and i was going away for the weekend, so I called Mitch back on Friday morning, expecting to wait until the following week for a replacement and at a higher cost than the original estimate. Mitch was not available, but Gary, another staff plumber, took my call. He arranged to have his assistant come immediately to begin removing the old unit while he retrieved a new water heater. The new unit was installed within an two heaters. In addition, Gary replaced a feed valve that clearly needed to be replaced and customized the vent in my poorly designed utility room. Total cost was $835, much less than I had feared. I highly recommend Mitch the Plumber.

Needed to replace our battery operated backup pump system (which died some months ago) and after googling around, found their information... call them up, asked them how much the water based back-up system would cost, got the estimate and made the schedule.

The plumbers came out, started working on the back-up and they noticed the old sump pump wasn't working properly, so had them replace the primary as well... unfortunately, on the water back-up system they were missing a part, so for this visit, they replaced my primary, they came back five days later and installed the back-up system... during the whole time, they were very professional, informed me of all the things they were doing and showed me how the new system worked.

Now, I don't have to worry when it rains... I used to go downstairs whenever it rained, but no more!

I recently used this company for a plumbing issue we had. The gentleman came out quickly, identified the problem and had a quote for me immediately. We scheduled a return appointment. I got home to a house that looked like nothing had ever happened (a good thing!). He had been in and out, cleaned up after himself, AND charged me 1/2 the quoted price because it hadn't taken him as long to do it as he thought. Wonderful!!

Timely, affordable service! Usually I hate interacting with strangers working on my home, but this guy was great. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Mitch saved me $20,000! I had a chronic problem with sewer backups into the basement of a rental home I own. I finally decided to fix it once and for all. Another company (which shall remain nameless here) told me that the only way to fix the problem was to tear up the basement floor and replace the pipes underground. Furthermore, that my insurance would likely pay for a large portion of this, and that we should start immediately. This felt pretty sketchy to me, so I saw that Mitch had good reviews and called him for a second opinion. Even before I told him about the other company, he suggested that I contact 2 independent firms that would camera the sewer and pinpoint the nature of the problem before doing any major work on the basement. I had one of these firms come to the house, they located and fixed the problem without tearing up the basement. I never actually used Mitch's services because they weren't needed. But I very much appreciate the honest and responsible way he approached the problem. And the next time I need a plumber, I will give him a call.

Horrible, call some one else if you really need work done. Called the guy Friday, made an early appointment for Monday, took the morning off work so I could be home and he NEVER showed up and didn't have the courtesy to even call and let me know he wasn't going to show up. Avoid this company if you want the work done.

I just had a great experience with Craig and Kevin from Mitch the Plumber. They were on time, really friendly, efficient, and gave me a price that I thought was really fair.

They fixed a slow drain, removed an old pipe and installed a new one, ran to the store to retrieve a better fitting tub fixture (since we bought the wrong one!), installed it, and looked at a couple of other issues all for $275. I would definitely refer them to others and use them again!

We recently called Mitch the Plumber to discuss diagnosing and repairing a sump pump that was refusing to shut off. Talked to Mitch himself and he was very clear about the possible causes and options and on the range of cost - from $75 for a simple visit and fix to $375 for a new pump with installation and necessary parts. On top of this a $25 off Yelp discount was offered. Scheduling was flexible and they came out the next day to take a look, which we appreciated.

The technician that came out (not Mitch) was knowledgeable and through in his examination of the pump and informing us of our options. As another reviewer noted, he did use coarse language, which I found to be both unnecessary and unprofessional. In the end, we decided it was time for a new pump, which was installed the same day.

The only issue was the invoice. It did not include any details and the write up stated ""Install new Sump Pump and Check Valve. $375. Including Yelp Coupon -$25. Total $375"". I was not home at the time and my wife paid the full $375 amount. Perhaps there was some misunderstanding, as the technician who did the work was not the person I scheduled and approve the costs with. The good news is that when I spoke to Mitch a few days later, he agreed to the understanding we had and we received a check for the $25 in the mail within a few days.

Overall, a good experience for the prompt and knowledgeable service, but I would have preferred not to go back and forth to get the cost to be what was previously agreed. At least the error was corrected quickly and without disagreements.

Overcharge, rude not follow up

I deal with contractors often due to my income properties. The experience I had with this company is one of the worst. I needed to have work done on the discharge of the washing machine (change from flex hose to stand pipe) to meet code requirement. Pretty standard stuff, nothing complicated. His bid was the highest but he was the only one who could do it in a reasonable time. Since I was under time constraint I decided to award the job to Mitch. He came in, completed the work (less time than he quoted me). I payed him full price and asked him to send me a copy of the permit along with itemized bill. Nothing unusual since he charged me $140 to do follow up paper work. He cashed my check 10 days ago and I still don't have my paperwork. I requested him twice. He does not even return my messages. Next week I will contact their main office and file complaint. I don't recommend them to anyone. From my perspective they overcharge, they are rude and don't follow up. One thing is that they complete the job and no issues so far but time will tell how good a job they did.

Very unreliable--did not show up for scheduled appointment and didn't call to let me know.

When I called to schedule appointment, I asked Mitch if he could make a late appointment, so I wouldn't have to leave work. He said he couldn't so we made an earlier appointment. I left work to wait at home for him and he didn't show! I called and he didn't answer his phone until 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. He said it would be at least another hour before he could make it out...turns out I could have put in my entire shift at work. In the end, I had left work early and I still had a toilet that would not flush! He never called to let me know he couldn't make our appointment and was not at all apologetic. My advice...call any other plumber!
