We were sold an overpriced boiler from Pine State. Lee was a good salesman and a fast talker and could install our boiler right away, so rather than sticking with our trusty heating service guy, we chose Pine State. There was apparently a miscommunication right in that first meeting about what we needed for a system, and it just continued from there. Communication overall during the install was poor. It was winter so we took off work, and took our infant to stay elsewhere for two days while they were installing only to find out on the second day that they hadn't started the job on time due to illness- some thing pretty important to communicate. When we arrived home to our unheated house, they informed us that they guy who knew about the install was still sick so ""they are just trying to figure it out"". Come to find out later, from our old heating guy, that they missed an important part and didn't bleed the radiators or add ph neutralizer. I have to say that they have gone out of their way to make it right (though I did have to go into what my husband calls, ""beast-mode"" to get them to admit culpability), and my experiences with them after the original install and complaint have been very pleasant but I would go with someone you know and trust even if it means waiting a bit! We have heard from other professionals since then that their rep is not great with contractors either.

The technician that came to service my hot water heater lied to me and was so disingenuous that I feel the need to post this. He was forcing me to buy a new hot water heater when all I needed was to have the heating elements replaced. He then told me it would cost almost as much to replace the elements as it would to replace the hot water heater. Which as I found out after a technician from another company came to help me, that was a complete lie. The elements cost $30 each (I needed 2), and the new hot water heater with installation was $1000. I will never use Pine State services again!!

This firm is so great. They come when I call (and on time!) The service crew is very knowledgeable. They really care about their customers. Everything was explained to me as to what they were doing. I am so pleased! Their service is ""old school"" where they take the time to inspect the problem and fix it. If it doesn't need service, they let you know. I highly recommend them! They go ""above and beyond""!

Before calling this company for service - think. This company quoted me $260 to tighten two screws on a toilet seat - I have the quote to prove it. To fix two sinks they charged $766 - which is more then what the two sinks are worth brand new. I have now one to blame but myself for using them. This is the statement you will make after calling them.

I have used Pine state for years for my home and my business. I have found them to be both competent and trustworthy. There has been quick response on emergencies and adherence to schedule on new installations. I highly recommend them.

I found Pine State too expensive, and I always felt they were trying to sell me more than I needed. They come across as very professional and friendly, but in the end I decided to switch to Darling Plumbing and I've been very happy. Have used them several times now.

Way over priced flat rate system. Poor knowledge. They do a two year warranty for parts. But Beckett parts are warranted for five years. So who's stealing. A Transformer is 36. Cost they charge 360. A toilet is 200 to 250 they charge 800. Stay away from this company and don't get a wall hung gas boiler. Life time maybe 12 years after costly repairs. A annual cleaning cot in material maybe 15.00 they charge 299. Unless you buy a 59.00 agreement than goes to 199. Total 258. You should not have to pay for 24 hour service. Crooks. Steam radiator vent 35.00 they charge 220. A 10 second repair. Crooks

I used this company for the first time last week and spent over $900 for minor plumbing repairs. Pine State Services is a very expensive company. I regret that I didn't ask more questions about the flat fee prices. I definitely learned a lesson.

My family has used Pine State for years. We were so pleased with our most recent service call that I felt the need to share. I'm honestly shocked at some of these other reviews, as they are NOT reflective of any experience I have had.

Over the extremely cold February 14th weekend a pipe burst in a rental property owned by my family. Obviously we were in a panic and had no idea where to begin to fix the issue. There were kids living in this building!! We had to do something and soon!
Enter Pine State. We were so happy when a manager answered the phone (way more comforting than an answering service) and he assured us that a certified gas technician could assist us today. They had someone onsite within 45 minutes. The technician was very knowledgeable and answered ALL of my questions. He was professional and gave us the price before he began the work. He fixed the pipe, got the heat up and running, and stayed until a comfortable temp. was reached.
To me, the price seemed very fair for how prompt and efficient they were.
You get what you pay for!!!
I would definitely use them again and refer any family and friends to do so as well.

Don't use this company. They are way over priced. I figured out that they charged me $450/hr for a 1-hour job. They have flat fee prices that are designed to hide the real cost of the work they are doing, and they will not give you a breakdown of labor, parts, etc. If you use them you are supporting their inflated overhead for a large HVAC. I used them once and lost a customer for life--hope it was worth it for them. Get a small, local independent HVAC provider instead of these crooks.
