Nice job, guys! I had a panic yesterday when my a/c temp read 87 degrees in the house. The air was blowing, but not cooling. After calling another local company who couldn't come out until Monday (4 days away) I called Minyard to see if they could come out.

Within the hour, Frank showed up. He was getting off work to go out of town for a fishing trip, but swung by my house first. the problem was, thank goodness, a common one for him. He got the a/c up and running again within another hour and I had a cool house by sundown.

Thank you so much for service!! So impressed with these guys. They could have blown me off until next week, but came over late in the day anyway. Much appreciated!

Woke up from a nap tonight to find it 80+ degrees in the house. I called several local businesses and Minyards was the only one to respond to my panic. Frank came out promptly and quickly diagnosed the problem. He replaced the failed part and only charged me a minimal fee. I would recommend these guys to all my friends.

Really bad customer service. Field technicians were great, on time etc, but I waited for a quote for almost two months, only to be informed (when I called in to check on it) that the company had decided not to bid on the job. The person responsible for my quote, was also disrespectful and felt like I was asking too much of him in order to get a quote in a two week time frame. Last time I ever call or refer this company.

Marcus, one of Minyard and Sons expert plumbers just left my house and I'm very pleased to say that he fixed my rather dire circumstance in an efficient and friendly manner.
Yesterday I returned home to discover that I had a literal fountain in my yard... which was a swamp. I called the water company, they sent a contractor out to look at it. The main line was severed on our side so we were responsible for the repair. They shut the water off for me (I watched the meter actually spinning. Crazy amount of waste)
I called Minyard immediately and we decided to take care of it in the morning. Marcus was here promptly at 7am and had the problem sorted and neatly put back together by 9:15am.
I think the price was reasonable although I didn't call anyone else for quotes - I needed water to my house! Very friendly dispatcher, very easy to pay (over the phone while Marcus was still here).
They service more than just plumbing needs so I plan to use them in the future for other issues that may arise.
Thank you Minyard and Sons!

These guys are fair, honest and extremely diligent. My pool leak was misdiagnosed by another company. These guys were able to detect and repair the leak in record time. The work turned out to be very challenging due to the leak being nealry 10 feet below my patio. These guys were relentless in their efforts and put in some long days replumbing my pool. ALL of the employees were extremely polite and professional. Minyard will be the first that I call for future repairs!!

Extremely poor customer service. Technician showed up an hour late for appointment, promised estimate by end of day or next morning. Never heard back so called office, was told technician dropped the ball and would have estimate by end of day. No estimate received. Called next day and was told they had written the email address down wrong so it didn't go through and they couldn't be bothered to call and give us the info. We called again and told them never mind, that we'd find someone else to do the job and the guy told us "I don't blame you."

During a recent 105*+ week, I called Minyard Sons to have someone come out and service my two air conditioners. I was told that due to the heat wave and high demand, they wouldn't be able to have someone out until later that afternoon, which was better than I expected. Derek L. arrived on time and quickly began servicing the units. As I hovered around, he showed me what he was doing and how I could do this myself to save money in the future.

One of the units had been having a problem with the fan motor. He and I discussed options and we came to the conclusion that it could be replaced now or whenever it actually goes out....which could be a couple days to a year. I decided to wait and he showed me how to replace it when it does go out. Unfortunately, a few days later, the fan motor went out. With Derek's guidance the week before, I was able to replace that motor myself and save more money.

I know Minyard Sons may have lost some business by allowing Derek to show me how to fix the A/C myself but their integrity and customer relations has earned all future business from me. I can't say enough about these guys and highly recommend them to anyone in need of any of their services. - Jeff H

Some of the most honest, polite and courteous people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They gave me a time frame that was reasonable (not like everyone's favorite cable company, who gives you a time frame of 12-6pm). The service was spot-on and the pricing was extremely reasonable. I would recommend these guys to anyone who is looking for an honest company, with the knowledge of their field of expertise. You have definitely found a repeat customer in me.

UPDATE: After seeing this review, Landon (Minyard's service manager) requested that I contact him. I did just that. He informed me that the plumber who came to our home was no longer with the company. He apologized profusely and worked to make it right. Although I admit that our experience was really bad, I believe that was truly the fault of the plumber. I admire Minyard for contacting me to find out more about what happened and having the integrity to make it right. Which they absolutely did make it right. I will call them next time I need any plumbing or AC work done, as I know that they care about their reputation and the work that they do.

After reading many good reviews (with a few negative), I decided to give Minyard a call to fix our broken water heater. We called in the morning and hoped to have a fix the same day, as my family had already gone one morning with no hot water. They said that someone would come within a few hours and they would call to let us know they were on the way. So far so good. The problem came when the technician showed up. My husband spoke with him and they both agreed it was probably one of two parts, as there are only a limited number of things it could be. So the least expensive part would likely be the best place to start and fix the problem. The technician said our water heater was still under warranty, so we just expected to pay for the labor. He left to get the part. Not long after he left, he called and said maybe we should just replace the whole thing. It's only 4 years old, so we were not interested in this option. He claimed they don't last that long. (it's still under warranty!!) We said, no fix it please. We waited... and waited... and waited. HOURS we waited (all on the clock by the way). Finally I called to check and he said he was near our house. Still another 30 minutes went by and no sign of him. At this point it's dark and well past the work day hours. We were upset as the labor charge was going to be very expensive and he had yet to do ANYTHING! He finally showed up and said it was traffic, he had to go across town to get the part and the part place was busy. Okay, NO WAY! So he finally starts working on the water heater. Come to find out, for reasons not explained, he choose to get the more expensive part to replace, even after my husband had spoken with him about replacing the other part first. The fix didn't work. No choice at this point but to come back tomorrow as everything is closed. My husband and I, our toddler and baby were without hot water for another day. The discussion about buying a new one comes up yet again. The next morning, my husband, (very upset at this point) calls the plumbing supply place in Round Rock (we are in Cedar Park), which is about 15 minutes from our house and they have the part that we need. The part that we thought was going to be replaced first. The part that had the technician did what he said he was going to, would have been back well within an hour, fixed the problem and left us with hot water that day. Not to mention the money we would have saved on labor! My husband goes down to the supply place, purchases the part, comes home and replaces the part himself. All within an hour! On top of ALL this, the technician didn't take the part he was going to replace with him to the supply store across town, so he said that we would need to pay them for the part, then take the part ACROSS TOWN and have them reimburse us for the warranty coverage. All in all, we had a bill over $400 that didn't fix anything, and had to take the part across town to get our money back for a part that didn't need to be replaced anyways. We were left angry, without hot water for 2 days and ended up having to fix it ourselves. Trust, honesty and doing what you say you are going to is paramount when hiring a plumber. If these things are important to you, as they are to us, don't hire Minyard!
