Jared D.I have to say I had a great experience using Minyard Plumbing. After returning from a long trip, we had an issue with drainage of our house. Other companies wanted $500 or more to come out on a weekend and couldn't guarantee service. Minyard guaranteed they could get there and the price was affordable. They fixed the problem the first time out. Will definitely use them in the future.
Paul C.I called Minyard via Yellow Pages, I called and they gave me a time and Bill and Phil actually arrived a short time before the quoted time. They did the repair and did the work accurately and efficiently. I would recommend them to family and friends as well as the general public.
I called Minyard Plumbing and asked them to come fix my ailing water heater. They sent two employees out, and after about 40 minutes, they came to tell me that the problem was a broken lower element and they had fixed it. The bill was $117, which seemed reasonable.
The next morning when I went to take a shower, I had only a little bit of hot water, same problem as before. I called Minyard and spoke with Amy, and she informed me that she could send someone out to my house to look at it but that there would be additional charges for labor and any parts.
I told her that their workers had told me that the water heater was fixed and that I believed at the time my payment was compensation for successfully completed work. I assumed this work carried a warranty, even if it was only for 30 or 90 days. She explained to me that her workers needed to be paid no matter how long it took them to figure out the problem, and that there would be no follow up without compensation. I asked her then if the previous visit's expenses could be applied to the installation of a new water heater, and she gave me a flat no.
I was really surprised to find that getting a job done accurately and at a fair price was not an interest the company shared. They accepted no responsibility for their faulty diagnosis, and showed no interest in working with me on the matter.
I would strongly recommend that you not use Minyard Plumbing both because the staff is unethical and because the workers don't seem to be very knowledgeable about the technical aspects of their jobs. I had to call a second company out to my house, which quickly diagnosed the problem and got my water heater working. I think I've found a company now that will actually stand behind their work.
