We've had a few pretty frustrating encounters with Milltown. Overall, we're pretty disappointed. There hasn't been a ton of communication and no one really has been upfront about any issues. So by the time the issue is actually ""fixed,"" it feels like an avoidable money pit. Milltown is definitely more expensive than other companies, and from our overall experience, it's unfortunately not worth the extra money.
On top of that, none of the guys seem to be on the same page...about anything. They all blame each other when they are here (""that was a specialty guy, he knows nothing about X,"" ""that guy is new, he doesn't know anything about this"" ""he shouldn't have quoted you on this, that's not his specialty""). They've been here 5 times (4 different guys in total) for the same problem, so there has been a lot of finger pointing. It's always been kind of awkward, and hasn't left us with the best taste in our mouth.
Morgan P.My wife and I purchased our first home a few weeks ago, and she has been doing many of the repairs herself (yay for marrying an engineer!). Unfortunately, when we discovered a cracked pipe above the kitchen that had essentially rotted away with age, we knew we'd have to call in a professional to replace it. Kevin M. came over the very same day and was able to replace our pipe quickly and efficiently, and we haven't had any issues since. He was also super clean and cleaned up any mess left behind from fixing the pipe. I'm pretty sure he left the kitchen cleaner than he found it! Lol! Kevin and my wife also had fun ""talking shop"" and he gave her some really helpful advice.
Tl;dr: Quick, clean, efficient, will definitely be using them again!
We have had A/Repairing services from Milltown today (08/31).
Technician was knowledgeable and were able to figure out issue within 10 Minutes of his time; the issue was with Capacitor and need to be replaced. It took him only 15-30 minutes to replace capacitor
The complaint I have now is with charges ...they charged me over $424 bucks about a 30 minutes' worth of work and parts cost. I inquired other companies in and around our town, they confirmed it should not be more than 150-180 bucks maximum ..I felt it's Kind of rip off pricing....Anyhow I left a message to the company and waiting for their Service Manager's call...
Stay away from these people, charged 1700.00 to find and repair leak in a/c system. They never found the leak and the the a/c was not working the next day, after calling them they came back unannounced and did something to get it going never leaving a service report. I'm sure it will be out gas again soon. They were there for 4 hours for the first time they came out that's like $ 400. dollars per hour. THIEVES
Milltown Plumbing rips its customers off. I was desperate to get a leaky toilet fixed. I had just moved into my home. I was charged over $350 for a wax ring to be replaced. Everyone I spoke with, including plumbers, agreed that $200 is the highest they should have charged for such a simple job and inexpensive part. I will never use Milltown Plumbing again!
MillTown keeps it promise of customer satisfaction and good service. I am quite impressed with the manager Christian and Sarah. They were so great and understanding with my crazy request for my ailing brother to fix his faucets. Job got done and my brother is very happy.
I would recommend them to anyone as a caring company.

Milltown Plumbing - owner ""made good"" for a negative experience
While we had a negative experience with Milltown Plumbing (the narrative is below), the owner, Fred, called a week after the incident, apologized and promised to refund the cost of the service and to compensate us for our losses. He seemed very sincere and said that he sanctioned the plumber who did the work at our house.
The Incident:
We believe that one of their plumbers robbed us of a few small, but valuable household items and over $100 in cash.
We recently had a plumbing emergency that required us to find a plumber who could take care of the issue on very short notice. We eventually contacted Milltown Plumbing who could send someone within a few hours; despite the fact that the ""emergency service charge"" was very high, we accepted it and waited for the plumber. When he arrived, he asked me to go the bathrooms and repeatedly flush and wait for the refilling of the toilet tanks; that got me out of the room where he was ""timing"" the refills to determine the water pressure. Eventually, he turned off the water to the house and made the repair. While doing it, he talked about the need to replace the water heater; I subsequently found out that the water heater was still under a full warranty.
The next day I went to use something that was in a bathroom where the plumber went that I use every day and found that it was missing. My wife and I looked and could not find it and started to look around the house to see if anything else was missing. There were other small items missing and over $100 was missing from my wife's purse. Given that we were not out of house between the plumbing work and the discovery of the missing items, we believe that the plumber sent by Milltown took the money and items while having me run around the house doing specious tests.
I contacted a manager, Christian, at Milltown who said that he would investigate and promptly get back to me. Three days later he called and said that he asked the plumber who denied taking anything and looked in his truck and found none of the missing items. Four day later the owner, Fred, called and apologized and offered to compensate us for our losses and to refund the cost of the service.
This place is great and quick for service. They went above and beyond to replace a faucet for me. I recently had surgery and couldn't get another faucet so they called several suppliers and found one that fit quickly. Will definitely use them in the future!
Quoted me overtime rates for a weekend job (fine) and said they'd show up in a 2 hour window. Never showed up. Called at the 2 hour mark to say they'd still be another hour. Cancelled at that point as I had been waiting around and had other things to attend to. Do not recommend.
Mollie K.We had one plumber come for a leak in our bathroom. He didn't find it. We had someone else out a week later (because I found the leak) and this technician was Jared. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and I would definitely have him come back if we ever have another problem.
