When the Lansing Woman's Club boiler ""died"" December 7, 2021, seven local contractors were contacted; four sent someone to assess the situation. While he was there, Mike of Miles Plumbing and Heating took pictures of the old boiler and on-the-spot sent them to his supply contacts. None of the other contractors had done that. The next day he called with the news that a new replacement boiler was available in New York and it would arrive in Michigan in a week. The dollar amount of his bid was in line with what other contractors had told us. Our club board voted to award the contract to Miles. The boiler took 10 days to arrive, but once it was on hand, Mike and his crew of Andy and Ryan worked daily to remove the old boiler, make some plumbing adjustments, and install the new system. They took care to put down protective coverings on our tile and carpeted surfaces. They cleaned up the job site thoroughly, they were pleasant and courteous in answering our questions about the installation. Despite the work happening over the Christmas holidays, we had heat back in our building in less than a month. The club is extraordinarily grateful to the Miles team. We are very well pleased with them all the way around. We would recommend them without hesitation.
Matt D.These guys did a great job helping out our church today. They were very prompt in there response time, very professional while on site working, and left everything in working order.
Once arriving on site to deal with multiple leaks on our boilers and domestic water system, they quickly got the domestic water restored and isolated from the boiler system. This allowed those at the church to continue to use the facilities.
Over the next few hours they identifed all of the leaks and repaired them. They also identified the root cause, which was a failed circulator pump, and replaced that as well.
Very satisfied with the service we recieved.
They are very helpful, responsive and fair in their pricing. I have had them out numerous times.
They replaced a bathtub for my 80 yr. old mother. They did not give her a choice of tubs. They just showed up with one and installed it. They never bothered to check and see if she could easily get in and out of it. It is much deeper than her old one and the sides are much higher. She can not raise her legs high enough to step into or out of the tub w/o difficulty and challenging her balance. One day I'm afraid she will fall. They don't care, they got their money.
A G.OVERPRICED they came to my house to do a plumbing job they were not able to finish it so they had to return at a later date. I was billed $1400 for the first initial job. I was told the return visit would be a simple quick job and wouldn't take too long. So I agreed for them to come back to replace the stop and supply to the toilet and rebuild tub and shower valve. They also checked my water pressure in the kitchen. All this I was told would be a minor quick job. I didn't think I would get charged for travel time AGAIN! To my surprise I get a bill for over three hundred dollars and was rudely told that it was for one hour for the plumber and I ALSO had to pay his apprentice for an hour. So I am billed for TWO hours for something that one plumber could have done in less then an hour. So I guess YOU as a customer have to pay for the apprentice to learn his trade.
I called and tried to reason with them and their secretary was rude and loud and one hell of a B*tch. I am assuming this is the older secretary as their younger who I had spoken to at an earlier date was very nice.
They did a great job initially but misinformed me as to their return visit and then overcharged me for something that could have been taken care of quickly the first time. If you hire them make sure to ask them how many people are going to be working on your job and also if you live far from them realize that YOU will be charged for TRAVEL time there and back!!!
I should have dropped out of college and become a plumber, from the looks of it they make more than a doctor.
