During the 1940s, Ted Huether and his family created the Gray Squirrel Cabins. He began teaching his children the small-town values that are rare today. Values like honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic. By the 1960s, Ted's Plumbing had grown to be the biggest plumbing company in Big Bear, with a team of more than 20 plumbers. Among them was David Huether, Ted's son. After starting as a laborer and then a pipe fitter in his early teens, David transitioned to a backhoe operator in his mid to late teens. When Ted decided to retire, David purchased the business and carried on the vision his father had created. For over 40 years, Mile High Equipment and the Huether family have been integral to the Big Bear Valley community. They have endured challenges and embraced the successes. Guided by the principles his father taught him, David has developed his business into a multifaceted operation.

I would give zero stars if I could. The worst company I've ver dealt with! Hired them to remove snow from my driveway after the last snow storm in Big Bear. Everything was discussed verbally over the phone and when they did not perform to agreement, they claimed the ""notes"" doesn't reflect it and refused to go back to fix issues. They also broke a draining grate on my driveway. DO NOT USE!!

We have had a very positive experience with Mile High. We contracted for the winter season 2023, and are currently being blasted with Big Bear's historic snow storm and 7 foot accumulation. Our guy is a pro, cleans heavy, deep snow from our driveway and shows up consistently. We are seniors and my husband is in poor health. Their snow removal service is invaluable.

Top quality rentals at a great value! I've been going here for over 10 years and I recommend it to my friends everytime- DONT WAIT IN THE RENTAL LINES AT THE RESORT!! I've had friends wait over an hour in the mornings- Mile high is so reliable and the staff is great!!! Rookie and Donald helped us last time and are the best! thanks guys!

Worst snow removal business in Big Bear Area and maybe that explains why the woman who answers the phone seems so stressed.

Great staff!! Truly came as customer and left as a friend.
In the heart of the mountain we would highly recommend stopping here first and getting everything you need

Came here, no lines, got what we needed, rental was hassle free, front desk was super nice.. what else can I say? $25 for boots/snowboard is probably the cheapest you'll find in Big Bear, these guys deserve no less than 5 stars :)

We are getting back into skiing. We stopped by to check out end of season deals (don't really have them, deals all year). Haley was very helpful and friendly. The shop was not busy at the time, so we were able to compare boots and skis. We are not excellent skiers, we just want something to get us down the hill safely, so the used items will be just fine. The shop was laid out nicely and even had a dog, Patches, for us to pet! Very happy with our experience in this ship, and Haley.

Great place to rent a board and boots Ricky was great, helped us a ton, definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Ricky saved the day by fixing my snowboard binding that 4 other shops couldn't. Great service, employees and conveniently located!

I'm not one to give out reviews, but I just had to for them. What a great experience, down to the employees in the office to the gentlemen preforming the work. I had them install a huge garden box in my backyard, not only were they helpful in the design of the layout, they were so knowledgeable about the project. I can't thank them enough! I love my garden even more now.
