Brad R.TLDR: Excellent work, quick turnaround, OK pricing.
I contacted Mike's Plumbing when my hot water heater began leaking from what I thought was the bottom (usually signaling the need for a replacement unit). I was able to set up a service date the very next day first thing in the morning and they arrived well within the estimated time window. The plumber, Chris, was able to diagnose my system and landed on the fix being a replacement expansion tank, pressure relief valve and a new hot water cutoff valve. Total cost of work was $900+, which fell towards the high side for this range of work, but I decided to proceed due to the job needing to be completed ASAP. The job took approx. 90 minutes to complete and once done, I was beyond satisfied with the quality of work. My previous setup was mostly shark bites and mediocre materials while the work Chris performed consisted of the proper fittings and quality materials. Fast forward a few days and the fix has not leaked a single drop! Overall, I could have shopped this around and gotten cheaper quotes for the same scope of work by a couple hundred bucks, however I don't think the quality of work would have been as nice and with such quick turnaround.
I recently just had Mike's Plumbing & Heating Service install a new water fountain at The Ward Y in Abingdon, MD. (YMCA) They are the best! I have been dealing with plumbing contractors for awhile and Mikes Plumbing & Heating Service is by far the best! There pricing will beat anyone. They came out very quickly and completed the job on short notice. There technicians are very polite and professional. They left there work area cleaner then when they started the job. I would highly recommend Mike's Plumbing & Heating Service to anyone. I will be using them again in the future.
All the members and employees here at The Ward Y, loves the new fountain they installed.

I own a few rental properties and use a property management company to manage them. Had a bad hot water valve under the sink in the kitchen. Since the condo was old I decided to change both hot and cold water valves and also both valves on 2 bathrooms so I wouldn't have to deal with any future problems. My management company uses Mike's plumbing so they sent them out to do the job. The bill was $644!!!. 6 water valves!!! Paid by my management company and I paid them but I couldn't believe it so I asked the management company for the bill, it said 5 hours labor. 5 Hours for 6 water valves????. So I called my tenant and asked him, guess what he said?? 2 hours. Yep 2 hours. Next time I'll find my own plumbing company. As soon as I finish posting this I will be calling my management company and letting them know what happened, hopefully they will be using another plumbing company too.
They sent someone out to fix a no heat issue in an apartment. While the guy was there, he told me he was not a heating tech, then he called the office to have someone walk him through troubleshooting the problem.
I'm charged $85/hr for a guy who admits he doesn't know what he's doing???
Today was my second encounter with Mikes Plumbing and Heating in Colorado Springs. We live in an apartment complex. Last week our heat was running non stop, even with the system shut off. Tech came out and ""fixed"" the problem. My girlfriend said he was very rude. Fast forward a week later to the snow and colder temps. I turn the heat on and nothing! Our heater went from running non stop to not running at all. Our complex again called Mikes Plumbing and Heating to come check it out. This was reported at 4:30pm, the repair men did not show up until 11:30pm! Who the hell shows up at 11:30pm on a tuesday night to fix a heater! Not only did they show up at an unreasonable time, they tech was again rude. The only good thing they did was leave me two space heaters to keep my apartment warm for the night. Would have given them 0 stars if it was an option.
Reasonable price, on time performance, pleasant and professional demeanor, excellent quality of work and clean and neat.
We called Mike's Plumbing after an ""expert installer"" from L*we$ snapped off the water supply line behind the kitchen wall while installing a new dishwasher. Mike sent over ""Charlie"" in less than 30 minutes. We couldn't have asked for a nicer and more professional plumber! And he wasn't even showing a standard plumber's butt crack (LOL).
He got right to work and fixed the problem in record time!
If you need a plumber that is personable, professional, and knows his trade - call Mike's and ask for Charlie - you'll be glad you did!!
Just had a horrible experience with this ""family run"" business. Beware! They will charge you an exorbitant price and overkill with trying to sell you all these package/bundled plans that are ridiculous for what should be a straightforward job. My elderly mother's old wall sink in her powder room was deteriorating, so my brother provided the new sink/vanity to have a new one installed. They wanted $1400 to remove and replace! And they sold her a $250 faucet. Who needs a $250 faucet. We have Delta faucets in our home for under $100 and they're just fine. My husband and I live in the Washington DC area (typically expensive) and had the same job done, an old sink, for $300 and we too provided the sink/vanity/faucets so this was just for labor and that was the total bill. I even called yet another reputable plumbing company in our area to see if I'd get a much different quote. Nope, their answer-$300-$400 and seniors get a 10% discount! Unfortunately, my brother signed the contract without reading everything--his bad. When he called Mike back a couple days later to complain, he said this guy was very defensive, not the least bit interested in his dissatisfaction, no offer to reduce the price, and threatened my brother that he had signed the contract. Wow! Lesson learned.
Christine R.Mike's Plumbing and Heating installed a new water heater in our home, they were professional, clean, knowledgeable and fast. I have rarely read any negative reviews on Mike's Plumbing and believe the reviews on Yelp are not always trustworthy. In my experience, you're better off checking the Better Business Bureau and Google reviews.
Rose Marie C.So I called Mike's for a quote I need a new p trap I think it's called and my pop up adjusted. That is about a 25 min job. So tech comes in checks it out want to come upstairs and sit in my kitchen to draw up a quote takes almost 30 mins to do. ( I'm thinking this is not the company for me) so comes back with 4 or 5 different numbers. I thinking dude it's a extremely small job! So the quote run for over $500 to $380 just to put a bandaid on the situation. So I said I'm not paying more then $200. He also tried to sell me some type of protection plan on a $20 piece of pipe smh. He calls his manager he takes $50 more off. I'm like okay time to get out of my house. Cost $20 bucks to be told a quote that was unaffordable. Long story short had a master plumber come in and get the job done in 20 mins flat for $175. I would have really been upset if these where the ppl I called in a emergency. Call someone else!!!!!
