If you're looking to renovate your space, we're prepared to guide you at every stage.

Mike's Custom Mechanical, Inc. has been serving the community since 2010, and bringing together more than 100 years of industry knowledge.

Initially, we were a small duo, a husband and wife, and we've expanded to better serve our community.

I am a veteran who served two tours in Iraq and am now service-disabled, I wanted to keep serving my neighbors and community after my military service.

After years of industry experience and training, I felt encouraged to launch my own venture.

My wife and I founded this company in 2010 and have been running it ever since.

STAY AWAY from this company. They charged me double for what I was quoted. Then ten days later, The same issue arises and they refuse to come check their work. I ended up calling a different company to fix it and they told me exactly what happened. Mikes Custom Mechanical will never be called again nor would I recommend them to anyone. Again, STAY AWAY from this company.

(1) Two men came to the house, one was learning boilers. They red tagged my furnance because they said CO levels were reading at 400 *(up flu) and 6 (in the furnace box). However, I never saw the reader. When they retested, in my presence, and showed me the readings, the readings were 240-300 and 1, respectively. So not as high as they first said. But the reading should be below 100 and 0 respectively. They said my expansion tank should be drained for $300. They changed and set my water levels much too high. The extensive cleaning they said needed to be done for $1600 then they said $1500. They couldn't come back until the following week. When I mentioned a second opinion, they quickly adjusted their quote to come out Friday for $1500 total and would not charge anything to drain the expansion tank.

Of course concerned, I made the appt with them for the next day.

(2) Worried, after they left I called Centerpoint Energy to ask about the red tag. I didn't really know what it meant, only I could not use the furnace. Centerpoint Energy sent out an emergency person due to the high CO levels and did the exact same work Mike's Custom Mechanical was going to charge me $1500 for only $80 bucks (sans draining the expansion tank, which Centerpoint said was not necessary). Centerpoint tech pulled the furnace apart, cleaned the box, bars, put in new cement, etc. Centerpoint completed the exact same things Mike's said they were going to do. My readings when Centerpoint left were well below 100. While not perfect much better and within acceptable range.

Mike's was going to charge $1500 which would have equated to $375 per hour if they performed for example 4 hours of work. You be the judge. Good value at $1500 or $80 bucks? I am not saying it should be $80 but something way more reasonable I would have likely done.

We called on the Saturday night before Christmas and, within an hours, the owner was there. He spent a good deal of time going over the 22 year old furnace we had, showed us the problem. We had tried to nurse what we had along . . . but it was time. So, we replaced the old with a high efficiency new furnace and A/C. The price was excellent. Those who did the work were prompt, courteous, and the results were wonderful.

We had one problem due to duct designs related to the old system. Mike identified it and next week we are scheduled to have necessary adjustments made. I cannot imagine better customer service than we have received. The price was fair. The follow up after installation was wonderful. We easily can commend Mike's Custom Mechanical in the highest fashion.

I'm mortified at the quality of people this company employs, and hopefully the mike that did my work, isn't the mike that owns this company. My landlord hired this company to replace my big old dumb octopus furnace. They came in Friday, couldn't start duct work so made the time to come back Monday, dropped off two space heaters to accompany the two I already had! Well Monday came and they got to work, they left all gates and doors open when they left. Monday night I go to bath and realize that something happened to my water heater, the dial was turned down, the pilot wasn't lit, one of the bricks my water heater was sitting on was tipped on its side and my water heater was all of a sudden leaking water. So the next day (Tuesday) I address this with him, and he tells me to call my landlord because he can replace the water heater while he's here too since it's broken. I tried to explain to mike that I understand the water heater now needs to be replaced, but it didn't need to be replaced before he started working to remove the furnace. And wouldn't have needed to be replaced at all if it wasn't damaged in the process. He refused to aknowledge that he even touched the water heater. But Water heaters don't just kick the supporting bricks out from underneath them selves, and turn themselves down. Tuesday evening he says he hasent finished installing either the furnace or the water heater, but that he lit the pilot on the old water heater again so I could have hot water. Wednesday comes and he supposed to finish by Wednesday. I get home from work, mike is gone, he took his two space heaters and stole one of mine out of my living room. (His had ""Mike's custom mech"" wrote on top, mine were all white but the same model) I asked my Other half if he had noticed the furnace kick on at all. I had been home for an hour paying attention to it and messing with the thermostat to attempt to get it to turn on. I went to bed assuming that Mike correctly did his job, and that my house was just so cold that I wasn't noticing a difference, and that maybe it just took a little bit longer to warm up after being so utterly cold for an entire week. I woke up that morning at 7:30 to a 54° house to find my dogs shaking in the living room because it was so cold. With only one space heater to heat my whole house. I immediately texted my landlord and let him know that he needs to contact this company and have them out right away. I had to wait until 2:00 for these guys to finish a job that should have been finished 16 hours prior. He told my other half it had just been a fuse, but was down working in the basement for at least an hour. Now tolday I go down to my office (I'm a small business owner and needed to print out paperwork) and my printer will not register that there was paper in it because it is filled with sheet rock dust, from them redoing the duct work on the wall directly above it. Everything in my office was covered, and I wasn't asked once to move or cover anything. Now we'll see if Amanda calls me back or if she ignores my call. Take your money else where. These people will cost you more in the long run.

Amanda called me back said she spoke with the guys and that they said they asked me to move things multiple times and that's why my printer is broken. Not once, after I walked mike down to my basement Monday morning, did he ask me to move anything what so ever.

The way my desk was placed up against the wall, this all could have been avoided, if they would have pulled it out a foot. Or ACTAULLY asked me too. Amanda offered me $20 to replace the broken printer.

Mike didn't even know what he had to do Monday morning when he arrived-even though someone had already been in my house Friday and I knew what they were supposed to be doing Monday morning.

We went a full year after a permit was pulled for work in our kitchen without an inspection of their work. We complained to the Minneapolis Inspectors about that and also to the fact that we had a leak in the plumbing they installed. The inspector threatened to fine them heavily for all of this. Mike's came out right away, found the problem, and we ordered the part to come in. Mike said to call him when the part came in and they would take care of it. A few days later the part came in and we called them. No response. Called them again and again for the next 3 weeks. Finally they called to set up a time to come in, twice!. Each time they did not show up or to call and explain their absence. We called the Minneapolis inspectors again today. We hope they get fined, heavily.

Mikes Custom Mechanical is amazing! We called for a quote for central air installation and not only did we accept it, they installed within a few days! Other companies were way more expensive and were weeks out!!! We will definitely refer friends and family - and use for our next project!!!!

Very upset with Mikes Custom Mechanical! They installed a furnace in my home last year, I am now trying to sell and got flagged by the city because they never pulled a permit and did not install the ventilation to code! The employees that came out were very unprofessional! Would not use or recommend this company to anyone.

We were also directed to this company via the home warranty company. Their initial visit was quickly scheduled, but they didn't have a follow-up opening for 10 days. On the date of the follow-up, the technician failed to show up on time, and did not call to advise us where he was at. He finally called, an hour and a half late (I had taken off work to be there) and told me he was a 45 minute drive from my house and wouldn't be able to make it. Since then, I have called the business number (5) times, and have not had a person answer the phone. None of my messages have been returned, either.

This company might have brilliant technicians who do a great job; I don't know. But their customer service and lack of responsiveness means I'll find someone else to fix my house in the future. I'd suggest others do so, too.

They did a cleaning and tune up on our furnace through an offer on Angie's list. Since they were here there is no heat in the lower level, the fan is blowing so hard through the upper level vents that it sounds like a whine in a hair dryer. Our fan runs constantly in cold weather in order to circulate heat in our walkout lower level. We now have no heat there. Called them, called and left message, no response. I'm going to have to hire someone to fix what they screwed up.
