Very nice and competent plumber, but I wasn't looking to buy a ""Diamond"". The Charge was very inappropriate.

TRICKS TO CHARGE MORE: The plumber came with a small snake to open the drain. He did not have a large one with him. He said the price would be an additional $110 for large snake because I need to go and bring another plumber with me. He said it is a two man job. He came back by himself and did not need another person to help him. He just said that for me to agree to the higher charge. Total charge was $210.

I had a kitchen sink blockage and the 2 technicians that were sent were awesome! Very knowledgeable and explained what they did.
I live upstairs in a multi-unit complex and they were able to clear my troublesome clog after some difficulty. They stuck it out and in the end did an amazing job. Would highly recommend. Their $99 drain clog special can't be beat.

I had scheduled a visit to repair/replace the waxie in our toilet, and when the plumber arrived he calmly quoted $525 just to pull the toilet. Heaven knows what they would have charged for actually doing the work.
At any rate a local, excellent plumber did the whole job for $265 which included a new input line.
The Mike Diamond rate book is outrageous.

Elmer provided exemplary service when I called for help with a clogged sink drain. The clog was caused by a tiny piece of plastic that had lodged in the drain, eventually causing an overflow situation. Elmer found and removed the clog -- while explaining everything to me with a gentle sense of concern for my situation. I even got a senior discount!

This is a long overdue review. In October I called Mike Diamond to come out to fix a running toilet. The guy that came said he had never seen a valve (handle) like the one in our toilet. He said it looked like someone messed with it. Nobody messes with the valve handles inside a toilet? The invoice says he replaced the valve, supply line and rubber disc for a low cost of 585.00!!!!! He continued to say things didn't look right in the toilet and I should call Kohler. I proceeded to check all our other toilets inside and they had the same exact valves/handles, etc. He basically just didn't know what he was doing. He said if it keeps running we should call back and we will probably need a new toilet. The toilet did not run as much, but it still runs and we just lift the handle to stop it. I refused to have them back out. Today we had our regular plumber out for another job and I asked him to look at our toilet while he was here. He said ""the valve was not installed correctly, the disc was old and the supply line was cut too short"". So basically all the things were installed incorrectly or some not at all (rubber disc). It's my fault for being in a rush and going with someone else, for what I assumed was a standard toilet repair and not wanting to pay too much for such a repair.
That sure backfired! The plumber we have used for years came out today for a clogged sink and also fixed the toilet for half the price. Once I heard all the things Mike Diamond Plumbing did wrong (which I knew, since it still was running), I knew I had to write a review. I will never use Mike Diamond Plumbing again. They took advantage of a situation and definitely over charged us. Do Not Recommend!
