Having a plumber as a neighbor shaped Mike Diamond's early years. He started riding along on plumbing jobs at 14, eager to help in any way possible. For five years, he learned the trade by observing and listening. In 1976, Mike's entrepreneurial drive led him to start his own business. With a contractor's license in hand, he gathered tools and set out in his truck. At the age of 19, he started his business from his parents' garage.

Mike Diamond Plumbing excels in service and repair plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical work because he prioritizes customer needs.

Worst Customer service.

Don't believe the hype or the radio ad on Mike Diamond. They are the worst plumbing company in this area. They do NOT come on time and they are disrespectful.

Story: Called at 12:00 to book an appointment. The call center stated that they will be at my residence before 1:30pm. The problem is a small leak and could be done in 20 minutes. I just don't have the tools that plumbers have. They call me at 1:00 to confirm that they will be arriving before or at 1:30pm.
1:30pm nothing.
1:45pm nothing
2:00pm nothing. So I call the customer service line and I ask what happened. They said that he is coming. As I'm on hold the plumber finally arrives and I said, look, if your tag line is that your plumber is coming on time and smells good, I expected that to happen. He responds, NOT with an apology, but with ""do you want me to work on the issue or not?"" I said ""That's your response?"" He states, ""Look I'm not here to argue with you. I can leave right now."" So I say, ""Yes please get out of my house."" I took down his name and the company, Steve from George Brazil. He storms off.
The customer service manager comes on and asks what has happened. I say the issue is that I'm waiting and no one has called me to tell me that they're coming late. He responds ""Well you've only waited for 15 minutes."" No apology just more excuses. As I explain the story, he transfers me to another manager, David, in mid sentence.
So david asks what's wrong. I said, I don't understand why I was transferred in mid-sentence as I was explaining it to the gentleman before you.
He responds, ""Are we going to talk about the guy before me or are you going to tell me the issue?"" I said, ""is this how you treat customers? I just wanted to get my bathroom leak fixed and I was calling to find out where my plumber is, who is late. Instead of getting an apology, you guys are giving me excuses and lame customer service."" This is the district manager guys, he says... it's priceless, ""Well find someone else.""
I said, ""Wow. Well expect a yelp review and a complaint because you are amazing. Mike Diamond. Wow."" and i hung up.

Don't believe in the hype. I'm all keen for helping businesses but this business should not be in the market. They should be ashamed.

Believe what see on Yelp. People are trying hard to tell you something.

Do not call this company as I just made the mistake of doing.

The guy showed up (seemed nice) and looked at the problem. Almost immediately gave me a verbal estimate of (are you sitting down?) ... Over $8,000.00

That's for Copper pipe from the meter to the house. About 40'

I wasn't sure if he was selling plumbing services or a Hybrid Compact SUV. You should have seen my face.

It appeared that he wasn't all that interested in fixing the problem either but very interested in charging the $74.00 service fee and leaving as soon as he could.

It turns out several local companies show up for free regularly and provide FREE estimates (note to self for next time).

Here's the best part. The local company that showed up for FREE, offered to do the work for (are you sitting down?) ... $1,400.00 (Also Copper so we are comparing apples to apples) and that is with zero negotiation.

So the next time you hear the back to back ""Mike Diamond"" commercials on the radio, just think who's paying for that. YOU! ... This guy was too happy to collect the $74.00 fee and be on his merry way, but I'm pretty sure if I had agreed to the $8,000.00+ estimate, he would have found a way to get motivated about the job.

Maybe the reason they smell good is that for the most part, they just collect the $74.00 without doing any actual/hard work.

If with all this you still feel compelled to call them, when the operator asks ""how she can make you smile"", say stop charging people money to simply show up to their house and provide ridiculous astronomical estimates.

This company is getting larger and larger, so there are many suckers among us (myself almost included). Send a loud and clear message.

Here's a more fitting slogan:

***Mike Diamond, the NO GOOD plumber***

I wish I could give zero starts!

Our toilet backed up. Saw Mike Diamonds $99 drain clearing special and gave them a call...save your money. Go to Home Depot buy a $39 dollar augar and stick it in the toilet. That's all they did. The tech said toilet should be replaced and quoted a ridiculous amount. We had the toilet replaced for 1/10th the price they quoted. A few days later the toilet overflowed again. They came back out and re-Auger the toilet and still found no blockage. (The auger only goes into the toilet drain 6 feet) Any additional work was going to cost $400+. No thanks

Should have consulted Yelp before the call but called Mike Diamond in Orange County as I had my toilet backing up into the shower YIKES!!! They showed up on time took the toilet off and said there was blockage (DUH!) only six feet from the hole in the floor but couldn't snake it because he didn't want to get the snake stuck and not be able to get it out (from SIX FEET AWAY???) then got the hokey camera out and tried to show me the blockage, couldn't see S#!T on the very poor screen looked like a cheap fishfinder then promptly said he needed to jackhammer my floor up and replace the broken pipe and it was going to be APPROX. 7500 DOLLARS!!!. and hung around trying to convince me to do it, yeah good luck with that scooter ... Short story shorter called another local plumber (24/7) great guys came out on a Sunday had the blockage gone in less than 20 minutes told me the pipe was not broken reset the toilet and it was less about $170.00 total!!! I had the impression Mike Diamond wanted to upsell from the start ... NEVER AGAIN!!!

Basically ripped us of for 160 bucks for an ""emergency"" job. Plumber looked at the problem for less than a minute and called back to the office. He put me on the phone with the office manager and she basically blew me off and the plumber left without even trying.

First rate scam.

Wish I had read the reviews before making the call to Mike Diamond. They call themselves ""service plumbers,"" but they actually service their bank account, not the customer's needs. The plumber arrived and pulled out a catalogue of predetermined prices, which have nothing to do with the time it takes to do the job, complexity, etc. Having been in construction for more than 45 years, I'm very aware of how their pricing works but we needed our water back ""on"" before nightfall.
The cost came to more than $500 per hour plus the service call charge, fuel charge and a trumped up charge for Worker's Comp insurance. The insurance is built in to an hourly rate, as are benefits, etc. Complete rip off!

Just called them to fix a small leak on my toilet. They said it would be $400 to do a $50 repair. In addition they tried to replace my line at the street, flush my water heater, and charge me over $1400 when I just had a small issue. Don't call them because if will cost you $79 to find out they are ridiculous.

Had a clogged toilet with backup into the shower. Called Mike Diamond, showed up on time but it was downhill from there. After running up a diagnostic bill of $1021.00 the plumber left without fixing the problem and left us an estimate of $3600. Called another plumber the next day and had it fixed for $400. and that included new fittings. I left a request for customer service. Got a message they would be in touch but never called back. Left another message and still nothing. Pass the word around. Do not call Mike Diamond.

Well now we know why the Mike diamond plumbers smell so good...they don't do any of the dirty work that other hard working plumbers do! We've had our main drain cleared out by a different company before and we should have just called them back in. Mike's plumber showed up, wouldn't snake through the outside access (it's less than 3"" my bad, didn't read that on their exceptions page) and wouldn't snake through access point in the hallway. Instead, gave me a quote for $2,500 to dig up my front yard and install a two way access. He left me with a bathtub full of muck water thanks a lot...again, no wonder you smell so good. Called Vernes plumbing, they came out a few hours later, unclogged my drain through the hallway access point and about 30 minutes later, he was gone. Also, Mr Verne was a lot nicer, promised he wouldn't leave until the drain was unclogged (he kept his word too!!). My husband called Mike diamonds customer service but they didn't really care much about our negative experience. I think I'll be changing the channel when I hear the commercials on the radio.
Just as an FYI, Mikes plumber quoted us $2,500 to put in a two-way clean out valve in our front yard. Verne's plumbing did it for half that and without any other ridiculous charges. Believe the negative reviews!!! Also, methinks the gentleman doth protest too much - maybe spend your time improving your service instead of coming on Yelp proclaiming how great you are despite the thousands of negative reviews.
