Mike Diamond's childhood was influenced by living next to a plumber. At just 14, he began accompanying his neighbor on jobs, eager to lend a hand. During the following five years, he gained valuable insights and skills. In 1976, he took the leap into entrepreneurship and started his own business. With a contractor's license in hand, he gathered tools and set out in his truck. At the age of 19, he started his business from his parents' garage.

thieves. total rip off
don't use these guys.
called due to water flow restriction in the shower head. both valves were fine so knew there was something in the pipe between the valves and shower head. asked about running a thin snake down the pipe to see about and clog etc and they said it can't be done. 90degree angles etc. so they said they need to rip the wall out and replace the pipe for up to $1000 or more. then they may have to install a new single handle for 2 which meant new tile etc.
told them to call me with estimate. never got a call back.
i went to osh and got a 2ft thin spring snake and fixed it for $10.
so mike diamond you are a total rip off. do your plumbers work on commission??
Mike diamond the smell bad and take advantage plumbers!!!! Requested a repair on a clogged sink. Came in and replaced the disposal and sink still clogged. Only my female receptionist in the office. I don't know if he thought we wouldn't notice it wasn't draining. But way to overcharge and not fix the problem. Also... Thanks for throwing all the things that were under the sink everywhere. I could understand setting them to the side, but what a wreck!!!
Jenifer H.Navonne was so helpful and so nice. She really made me smile. She was so kind and respectful. I'm so glad to hear that they guarantee my drain to be clear if not, I don't pay anything. The initial price is $99. I'm so happy. The other company Platnum plumbing charged me $145 for the 75 ft snake and he snaked it twice. And it still didn't work. I had to pay for it and he said that he needed to bring another machine, the water pressure machine to push the gunk out for $300+ but no guarantees. I told him not to come since I found mike diamond!!! Thank you navonne for everything.
Arrash D.Summary:
Absurdly expensive, (Quoted 1000 to connect my fridge)
Plumber didn't know what to do
I taught him how to sauder
Big discrepancy in level of serviced claimed vs. offered.
Story:
Let me give you a little background first. So i was trying to connect my fridge to the waterline, which shouldn't be a big deal. The only thing is the waterline coming out of the wall was actually a copper line that was crimped at the end, so after asking for some advice at my local hardware store, I picked up a kit and got on my way. Needless to say, I messed something up and caused a leak in a copper pipe, that I couldn't repair. So I decided to get a plumber in to fix the solution.
I called several places to get a quote for their emergency repair services, and while I was at it, I asked how much it would cost to attach the fridge to the water line. I decided to go with Mike Diamond, despite not being the cheapest for emergency repair, but they told me an appliance connection would run about 70 over the phone. I was looking at around 250 for the repair and connection.
When my plumber finally showed up, he smelled like a smoker, and upon looking at the problem he made it clear he didn't know what he was going to do. After thinking internally, he told me to connect the fridge it would cost me about $1000 because the parts were expensive. That's just absurd, I can buy two brand new fridges and have them professionally installed for less than that.. I wish I would have asked him to leave at that point, but instead I just told him to patch the hole then.
He decided he was going to sauder the hole, but when he started, he didn't know what he was doing. He was using a blowtorch to melt the alloy, but holding it directly against the pipe. You'd have to be blind to see that what he was doing wasn't working as the alloy was clearly just melting onto the ground, but he kept trying anyway. And to my surprise, when the water was turned on, it didn't work. I mean c'mon. After that, I just decided to show him a better way to fix the problem, and esentially clued him in how how a sauder is supposed to work.
After my solution worked, and the problem was fixed, is when he decided to tell me how much the services were going to cost. 250 dollars to sauder (which I basically told him how to do) and 120 for the leak repair, with an additional charge for an emergency repair. My total came out to 500 dollars to fix a tiny leak. And at that, my fridge wasn't even connected.
Needless to say I was cheated, and when I complained to the corporate office, it took them a week to respond, and the manager tried to give me the run around saying that if they had to draw new pipe and what not, the cost is justified, and when I tried to explain to him that nothing of that sort was done, then he would just say we don't do quotes over the phone. Finally, the refunded me the 160 because he smelled like smoke, but still I couldn't believe the level of service.
Well I called several other places after, and I was quoted about 230 for the exact same service. Their response is ""we don't price match.""
Take my word for it, they aren't worth the time. Go with ""Bubba.""
Mike Diamond's plumbers ""smell good"" because they take your money without doing any work. This is the most phony plumbing company I've ever dealt with. The lure you in with a $99 job and it comes out to be $4000 dollars!!! They're afraid to use their auger equipment to clean a drain that's plugged. Instead, they give me an estimate to hydro jet all the pipes and clean them, and I said sorry, I am not doing that. They don't deserve one star they deserve 0 stars.
SCAM! don't use this company. They advertise $99 drain clearing but 20 min into the fix the plumber said it is going to take a ""long"" time. 30 min later he says he can't clear a kitchen drain after a lot of grunting and swearing. He was using a power snake at this time. Tells me it's going to be $198 at this point for his time. So when he goes out to get heavier equipment, I proceed to call his manager who says ""put the plumber on the phone...it's $99 no matter what."" When I ask the plumber to call him he asks me why, I tell him that his manager said $99 and guy just says ""ok, I'm done then."" Gathers his equipment and tells me good luck and to call someone else as he's leaving. Really??? What a total scam. Never again.
UPDATE...after contacting the manager the same day again he sent out another tech named Clint who was very helpful and decided to work until he cleared our drain. He charged the quoted amount and also sold me a special enzyme powder that is approved by the EPA and that breaks down the sludge in our pipe. I know I paid a bit of a premium buying it from him, but considering he spent over 3.5 hrs working on my problem that was ok. Bravo to Mike diamond for rectifying a bad initial visit!
Linda F.I had a clogged toilet. They came right away and did unclog it BUT
They charged me $400 for less than an hour of work. In my next life I want to come back as a plumber.
Gregg B.Shocking...very nice on the phone, plumber showed up right on time...rude, agitated, nasty to my wife, rude to me, I told him he was, no apology sent him away. Called the office, told them the situation, nice but no offer to send someone else... Called C&R Drains...
Worst Customer service.
Don't believe the hype or the radio ad on Mike Diamond. They are the worst plumbing company in this area. They do NOT come on time and they are disrespectful.
Story: Called at 12:00 to book an appointment. The call center stated that they will be at my residence before 1:30pm. The problem is a small leak and could be done in 20 minutes. I just don't have the tools that plumbers have. They call me at 1:00 to confirm that they will be arriving before or at 1:30pm.
1:30pm nothing.
1:45pm nothing
2:00pm nothing. So I call the customer service line and I ask what happened. They said that he is coming. As I'm on hold the plumber finally arrives and I said, look, if your tag line is that your plumber is coming on time and smells good, I expected that to happen. He responds, NOT with an apology, but with ""do you want me to work on the issue or not?"" I said ""That's your response?"" He states, ""Look I'm not here to argue with you. I can leave right now."" So I say, ""Yes please get out of my house."" I took down his name and the company, Steve from George Brazil. He storms off.
The customer service manager comes on and asks what has happened. I say the issue is that I'm waiting and no one has called me to tell me that they're coming late. He responds ""Well you've only waited for 15 minutes."" No apology just more excuses. As I explain the story, he transfers me to another manager, David, in mid sentence.
So david asks what's wrong. I said, I don't understand why I was transferred in mid-sentence as I was explaining it to the gentleman before you.
He responds, ""Are we going to talk about the guy before me or are you going to tell me the issue?"" I said, ""is this how you treat customers? I just wanted to get my bathroom leak fixed and I was calling to find out where my plumber is, who is late. Instead of getting an apology, you guys are giving me excuses and lame customer service."" This is the district manager guys, he says... it's priceless, ""Well find someone else.""
I said, ""Wow. Well expect a yelp review and a complaint because you are amazing. Mike Diamond. Wow."" and i hung up.
Don't believe in the hype. I'm all keen for helping businesses but this business should not be in the market. They should be ashamed.
Jon C.Believe what see on Yelp. People are trying hard to tell you something.
Do not call this company as I just made the mistake of doing.
The guy showed up (seemed nice) and looked at the problem. Almost immediately gave me a verbal estimate of (are you sitting down?) ... Over $8,000.00
That's for Copper pipe from the meter to the house. About 40'
I wasn't sure if he was selling plumbing services or a Hybrid Compact SUV. You should have seen my face.
It appeared that he wasn't all that interested in fixing the problem either but very interested in charging the $74.00 service fee and leaving as soon as he could.
It turns out several local companies show up for free regularly and provide FREE estimates (note to self for next time).
Here's the best part. The local company that showed up for FREE, offered to do the work for (are you sitting down?) ... $1,400.00 (Also Copper so we are comparing apples to apples) and that is with zero negotiation.
So the next time you hear the back to back ""Mike Diamond"" commercials on the radio, just think who's paying for that. YOU! ... This guy was too happy to collect the $74.00 fee and be on his merry way, but I'm pretty sure if I had agreed to the $8,000.00+ estimate, he would have found a way to get motivated about the job.
Maybe the reason they smell good is that for the most part, they just collect the $74.00 without doing any actual/hard work.
If with all this you still feel compelled to call them, when the operator asks ""how she can make you smile"", say stop charging people money to simply show up to their house and provide ridiculous astronomical estimates.
This company is getting larger and larger, so there are many suckers among us (myself almost included). Send a loud and clear message.
Here's a more fitting slogan:
***Mike Diamond, the NO GOOD plumber***
I wish I could give zero starts!
