What a scam! I've heard Mike Diamond commercials on the radio for years. They make themselves sound like such honest, reliable heroes. ""Doesn't matter if it's a kitchen sink or a mainline sewer stoppage. The smell good plumbers at Mike Diamond will unclog almost any drain for $99."" Sounds too good to be true, right?
I had a clog that was causing my toilet and shower to back up. Knowing Mike Diamond could unclog *any* drain for just $99, I called them first. Their contractor from my area (Santa Clarita) came out and gave me a quote of $2400. Why? Because my house is over 50 years old, they didn't build a two-way clean-out, so he would have to dig up the mainline drain and change out the pipe fitting. Unfortunately, he said, that would be the only way to unclog my drain. I said was way too much and not at all the price or capabilities that they advertise. The plumber/salesman became very agitated. ""What, so you're not going to do it?! Why would you want to call someone else? I've been doing this for 25 years; I know what can and can't be done.""
Then I called the plumber that my family has been using for years. He was able to remove the toilet and snake the pipes through the 3"" drain pipe. It took him a couple of hours and he charged $250. While it was more than the $99 I was hoping to pay, it's obvious from all of the reviews here that Mike Diamond's $99 advertised price is a myth. By calling for a second opinion, I was able to save 90% off the price I was quoted from Mike Diamond.

Worst service ever. Do not use this comoany. Service call people are so rude and they do not make you smile!

Mike Diamond Services is proof of how effective a marketing campaign can be. Just read the reviews and don't bother calling them.
They are constantly playing their radio ads and it was the first plumber I thought to call when my wife called saying there was a big leak in the kitchen sink when running the dishwasher.
I got home to meet the plumber who I will credit for showing right on time. He took about 5 minutes to look at the plumbing under the sink and told me it would cost about $300 to fix. He told me it was the rubber connection where the dishwasher drain line connects to the vent.
I told him that the water was backing up out of the vent and it looked like a clog to me. Again he reiterated it would cost $300 to fix and it was cheaper for me to do myself.
I started disconnecting the lines and found that the previous owner had not knocked out a plastic cap on the garbage disposal where the dishwasher drain connects. Mike Diamond got $76 for misdiagnosing a problem and then quoting an outrageous price for something that costs ~$10 and takes maybe 5 minutes to replace if you drop the screwdriver twice.
Reading previous reviews it seems to be a trend that their real money comes from the service fee that they get whether or not you use their services.
1. Show up
2. Quote ridiculous inflated price
3. Profit !
The rubber connection that the plumber told me to replace is a standard part available at any home improvement store. I know absolutely nothing about plumbing and took his word that it was the wrong part. I was infuriated to find out it was fine.
If you need a plumber I would advise calling ""Bubba"".

This company is a complete ripoff! Do not trust these people! They overcharge for everything. Call anybody else! They are a scam!

So I call to get my drain unclogged because they have the special. $99 for any drain. What happens when I get a hold of them? What then becomes the amount? $200 quite plus other charges. What a rip off. Not cool. Scam artist. Misleading. Stay away. I'll never call them again not first time they try this crap on me. But last time I was less equipped to see it right away. So frustrating. Errrrrr

I believe others may have had bad or unsuccessful experiences however, I have to say I had a very good honest experience with Mike diamond plumbing tonight. We started having plumbing issues earlier this afternoon with our toilet and bathtub being clogged. We contacted our apartment manager who contacted Mike diamond to come out on a after hours somewhat emergency visit at 8:30 PM on a Sunday. Justin arrived at 8:20 within five minutes seemed to think the problem was coming from the mainline he then spent about 15 minutes working out the clog which was about 50 feet in. Explained what happened and was on his way within a 45 minute span.
The original price quoted it was 165 for the visit after hours which our apartment manager paid over the phone via credit card. And a remaining $99 fee after the pipe had been unclogged. Before performing the job he let us know the total job was $259 which included both the visit fee and the $99 to clear the clog. Everything else was great from there he has left, and all is well in the bathroom.

Mike Diamond plumbing is a total scam.....first they wanted to charge us $800 to unclog a toilet.....my husband told them to leave. We got a snake and fixed it ourselves. About a year later my 88 year old mother in law called them ( not knowing what they tried to do to us ) because her heater wasn't working. They told her she needed a new heater that would cost $5000 and a new thermostat for $400. Luckily she said no and called the Gas Co to come check the heater. It turned out all she needed was a new battery in the thermostat. Heater has been working fine. My advice is to stay far away from the smell good plumbers cause they stink.

Mike diamond repairman came to fix my wall heater , he looked at it for 10 mins and said nething he could do here.
Charged me $ 99 bucks for nething, what a waste.

Seem to be scam artists(or price gougers may be a better description).$380 to replace one washing machine valve and they replaced the wrong one. I normally do this myself, but was in a bind as I was out of town so I called them based on their commercial- big mistake as I should have checked Yelp first.
For starters, they tried to massively up sell me before they even addressed my problem- very annoying and unprofessional. Secondly, when called on their mistake of fixing the wrong valve( the valve that was not leaking), they tried to tell me both valves were leaking (as if I do not know why I called them in the first place). I do understand mistakes happen and I do not have a problem with that, but own up to it, fix your mistake, and do not blame me for said mistake.
They finally admitted to their mistake and came back to fix the proper valve (which I appreciate). However, $40-$50 dollars worth of parts and $340 worth of labor for 20 minutes of work. That is about $900 per hour. Not bad. I bought an entire cart of food at Costco, which will last almost a month, for $379. I love capitalism and have no problem paying a fair price for a good product, but come on Mr. Diamond! Let's at least be reasonable and please stop taking advantage of people in a bind.

Bait and switch. $99 quote but on arrival wanted to charge an extra $250 to carry equipment up the stairs. Said no!
