★★☆☆☆

I've heard about the smell good plumbers of Mike Diamond for years on KNX 1070 and how wonderful they are, and thought I'd give them a try. I'm writing this review not so much to complain, but so others will make sure to ask the correct questions to get the $99 drain cleaning deal and not have the same experience as me. I doubt most homeowners know the specifics of their drain system. Had I known the price I was originally quoted was not the price I was going to pay, I could have gotten another plumber to come in sooner for less than I ultimately paid.

I'm giving a two star rating since the tech and manager were both nice and worked with me. The tech was on time and did smell OK. The tech also made sure to protect my kitchen floor with a large carpet. He worked very hard trying to solve a leak issue that came up.

The reason I'm only giving a 2 star review is due to the fact that when I called I specifically told them we are in a townhouse and didn't know if there was a direct clean out. I knew to mention this since I had called other plumbers who had asked me this specific question. The gentleman who I spoke to assured me it would be be only $99 and no more. I once again confirmed that it would be only $99 and he confirmed the price.

When the plumber arrived he told me it would cost $289 since there was no clean out. I immediately spoke to the supervisor complaining about the price switch. She spoke to her supervisor. I was told they reviewed the recording of our call and told me that the rep I spoke to was in training and made a mistake quoting me the $99 price and that I didn't specifically mention that we didn't have a clean out (I'm certain that I said I wasn't sure if we did-hence my confirming the price with the original rep). After I complained the manager said she was willing to drop the price to $209 due to the mistake.

The tech did complete the job and did a thorough clean up and check of the drain, which now works. There was a small leak, that took quite a while to work on

DONT HIRE MIKE DIAMOND!!!!

$99 Drain Cleaning???? THIS IS BULL!!! They came out and it was explained to them what the problem was and automatically the said ""We need to get a camera down there whish will cost $450.00.

They didnt even try to clean the drain at all just say ""needs the camera"". NO!!! First try the drain cleaning, charge me the $99 either way and if you cant get it then suggest the camera!!!

I will spread the word to everyone I know not to call this company. Useless and lazy!!!! Horrible attitudes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, sometimes ya just know. I'll start off saying the guy that came by was very nice so there's that. Our sink clogged up on a Thursday and it's been having problems for some time so I was just waiting for this to happen. Wanted someone fast so called MD. Making a long story short, they showed up the next day, couldn't unstop the drain, the clean out was 12"" from the T where the clog was coming from the kitchen. We concluded it was in a 8"" piece of galvanized under the sink butt for some reason the guy couldn't snake it and said we might have to bust up foundation to fix it. I knew what was going on right then. Thanked him for his time and said we'd think on it. Called another plumber and he cleared it in 5 min. The 8"" galvanized had closed in on itself with sludge from 20+ years. Nothing new or groundbreaking here. MD half ass@* it and tried to up charge for a big job. Not cool.

I seldom write reviews, however, the constant advertising by Mike Diamond for drain cleaning has motivated me. A few months ago I called for service since my kitchen sink was not draining well. A service person came out, took a very small amount of debris from my sink bottom (garbage disposal) then used the spray faucet to ""flush"" it. After he was paid and he left I turned the faucet on and the entire end portion of the sprayer fell off. I called and a representative claimed that it couldn't be their fault. They sent another person to look at it. He said that it definitely was not their fault and jammed it back together-it immediately fell apart! I ordered a new faucet and after many phone calls the company decided that they would be willing to install it for me. Now I have spent $99. to clear drain, $90. for a new faucet and my sink still doesn't drain properly. Do not use these people!

Although they came quickly for a hot water heater replacement, they told me I would have to wait two days for them to return to do the work. After handing me a estimate for ~$3000, they guys told me they would have to charge me EXTRA to turn off the water to prevent any further damage to the house (for TWO days). Immediately found someone else.

I wish I could give them negative stars. Scheduled an appt for plumbing & electrical on the same day. Took the day off because it was pretty pressing work.

Only one service person showed. Customer service was lackluster at best... from the scheduling all the way thru execution. Plumber dropped the garbage disposal on my tile floor & cracked a tile.

I needed to replace the ceiling light in my kitchen which was strobing like a haunted house at Halloween.

Electrician was a no-show twice - and to come back 2X to get the job done.
Paid extra to have ceiling light rewired to the switch, because the wall felt hot. (It was still getting hot after he left).
""You need a new JBOX"" - so I paid extra for that.
He was unable to install the flush-mount light so it didn't move. Basically gave up on making it right.

Within a week, the new lamp was strobing again. Then Covid hit. I hired a contractor to do some work in the kitchen. Their electrician told me that the wires in the kitchen ceiling were scorched. The JBOX that was installed was not heat shielded (ergo, not to code). So either the Diamond electrician chose not to tell me there were scorched wires or he created a fire hazard. Either way... it was highway robbery & if I hadn't had the other crew come in, I would have had a fire.

I do NOT recommend.

What a joke... I called Mike Diamond on Friday 1/17/20 to schedule the service for my kitchen sink. They could not do the same day service, though my call was at 10am. They said that the plumber would be at mY place the next dayy between 7am and 1pm. I canceled all my plans and stayed home. Around noon I called them and asked whether the plumber is coming. I was told that the plumber is dealing with some complications at the previous job and that he will be at my place in an hour. An hour later I called and asked where is my plumber at? They said they he is still stuck at the previous project and that he won't be able to attend to my issue today and that I should reschedule. I was not pleased to say the least and asked to speak too the manager. Manager Waac not available till Monday and I was transferred too the supervisor. She said that she is very sorry and that I need to reschedule. I said that I would still like to talk to the manager and rescheduled for the next morning before 10am. An hour later Ingot a call from the manager who stated that the plumber had a family emergency that he needed to attend to and he is very sorry. At this point I asked him if it was him lying to me or his staff? Because I was told that the plumber had an issue with the previous job and that plumbing is unpredictable. He offered me a $10 discount, which I refused and asked him to come the service due to them screwing my day and lying. He said that he will call the office and see what can be done.

Next morning I got a call at 8am that the plumber is on it's way. Around 9:20am he arrived. Looked at the sink and tried to see if the water is draining. I showed him thE access pipe outside the kitchen wall. He brought a wrench and opened it. He said that he needs to take the pipes under the sink apart because the water is not gushing out of the access pipe and the blockage is between the sink and the access pipe which per the plumber was 10 feet long. About 12 inches in reality. He said that it will cost $199 instead of $99 advertised. I asked him if he can try to clean it from the access pipe before taking the pipes in n see the sink apart? He said that it will cost $99, but if it doors not solve the problem I will have to payy additional $199 for taking the p Lumbing under the sink apart and clearing the stoppage. At this point I asked him to leave. To which I was told that I only see dollars and not the problem and that I lack any understanding of plumbing.

Once he was out, I took out my 10 dollar wrench and 20 dollar hand snaking wire. Within 35 minutes I cleared the stoppage.

The moral of the story: Do not get scammed by the likeS of Mike Diamond or Rottor Rooter. They all want your money and they will get you.
