I recently called Mike Diamond (MD) for a blocked toilet. The invoice for my work order is 2484293. I have a 2 story house and the bathrooms are one above the other. The upper toilet was not able to flush, but the lower one worked fine. Anyone with a brain can tell that there was a blockage in the drain pipe between the two floors. I called Mike Diamond and eventually a truck showed up with a ""mentor"" and a student. I told them that I had run a toilet auger into the pipes and that it did not clear the blockage. The ad for MD says they will unstop any drain up to their 30 foot rooter, but they would not run a snake into my pipes. I showed them the cleanout on the side of the house, but they said it wouldn't work. Instead, they supposedly called their manager and told me that they would have to destroy the sheetrock walls and create a new ""cleanout"" so that they could open the pipe to the toilet. All this for $1400.

The bottom line is, they never tried opening the pipe, even when I showed them the access to the main line. After waiting around for a while, (1.5hrs), they left.

I called another plumber that I am familiar with. I own a rental condo and the condo association is familiar with this company. Anyway, he came over and cleared the line from below using a 30 foot snake. He charged $240 but it worked and so far both toilets flush great.

I don't claim to know everything, but I do know when I see a money grab. MD could have cleared the line, the same way the other plumber did, but they went for the $1400 money grab. I find it sad that there are people out there trying to take advantage of ignorant people, but if I were you, I would at least consider a second opinion.

I'm not naive enough to realize that businesses need to make money, but I want people to know that these commercials advertising $80 drain clearing are bait and switch tactics. Most people today are poor and they just want things to work. Please don't take advantage of them.

They were good a long time ago, but now, every $99 drain clean will come with dire recommendations that will cost $2000. Different drains, different problems with the same cost to fix. The last time, the plumber threatened that the drain clean took more than 20 minutes to clear and if he had to come back, he would charge to replace the whole thing. Yes, about that price. Needless to say, we will not be using them anymore and we have been long-time customers for at least 15 years.

Feeling ripped off by Mike Diamond Plumbing. We had a service call to diagnose a toilet problem. They sent two plumbers, they were both nice as can be and knowledgeable. In the end, they replaced the fill valve. The charge was $500. After they left, I went online and saw that it's a $25 part. While I respect the service plumbers offer and understand the cost of doing business, I feel that being charged $500 is exorbitant and out of whack. I called after and spoke to a supervisor to try and get a better understanding of the markup. He wasn't helpful, didn't offer a credit for future service or anything else for that matter. We will NOT use them again.

if i could give negative stars, i would. they gave us a 8k quote for putting an underground gas line in. after a little thought, i realized it was less than 1 day of work. they blamed it on parts cost, so i asked for an itemized quote. god knows what 4-5 people were doing at our driveway, but i guess they thought more people was more convincing for us to accept the insane price. i then quickly looked at their yelp rating and realized that i should not be hiring them. i then told the plumber who does the work to not to bother to finish the quote. however he insisted on finish it, but that was a waste of everyone's time.

after a little research and talking to a local plumbing supply house, got a couple 5* plumbers to come in for a quote. accepted a $1.8k quote to do the job after i had my gardener dug the ditch for $800. the gas line job was done in 3 hours by 2 people with bubble leak check and tracer line etc.

what a joke $2.6k vs. $8k.

We called Mike Diamond for a leak under our kitchen sink. They told us their technician would be here between 8 and 10am and Sage showed up at 8:10. He was very polite and professional, explained everything he was doing and had the leak fixed within an hour. The charge was $97 and we are very happy with Sage and Mike Diamond.

Do not call this company! They will rip you off! Quoted me $571 to replace a simple 1/4 in water valve for a ice maker. If the job was more involved $1,000. We paid the $96 service call and sent him on his way. Called another company. Ended up we did require the more involved repair but this company only charged $350! The technician at Mike Diamond should be a salesman...insisted that every company will charge this. Learned a valuable lesson to call around and get other estimates. It will save you lots of money.

Ok this place is full of crap. To replace and install a garbage disposal is over $900. If I had my own garbage disposal replacement it would still be $500. So they try to sell a garbage disposal that I can get from Home Depot for under$150 for $400 plus. This company is a con from beginning to end. Stay away.

These guys are unprofessional, they don't know what they are talking about, and their customer service sucks. I needed troubleshooting and repair of a tankless water heater. When I called them I explained that it is not a simple plumbing job, a circuit board and a motor fan that I had ordered and had ready will probably have to be replaced, and the customer service manager assured mer that ""all their technocians are fully trained to work on tankless waterheaters and he'll make sure to dispatch somebody that can do the job properly"". So I scheduled the service. When they were late on the scheduled service and I called to inquire, they changed their story saying the technician that was dispatched cannot do the job, and they cannot send anybody else either. Result: many hours wasted on telephone with nothing to show for it, and a tenant that has been without hot water for a week and is threatening to sue and complain to the Housing Ahthorities! Job well done Mike D., you don't smell good at all, you stink!
Do not get fooled by the advertising, there is no quality in their work ethics or technical knowledge.

This company will con you. Ad says $99 for a drain cleared. When they show up I found out an extra $20 for gas and $100 for being on a second floor. Total $220 for snaking of a drain. Got it done with another company for $89 out the door. I will not ever recommend Mike Diamond. They work on commission on will rob you blind.

Zero stars. 13 days ago, Mike Diamond Plumbing came out to give me an estimate on a clogged shower drain, issues with poor toilet flushing, low hot water pressure in all faucets including the dishwasher and washing machine, and a cartridge change on the jacuzzi tub faucet. They snaked the shower drain, changed one bathroom faucet fixture, and said the problem was that I needed all new fixtures in the whole house from hard water build up, and that they need to descale my tankless water heater and add a filter. So I purchased 6 new fixtures for the kitchen and bathrooms, and they told me they would get the cartriges for the jacuzzi fixture, as well as the tankless filter. After the two technicians sat in the truck crunching the numbers, they come back in the house and literally said, ""Maybe you should sit down"" before they gave me the total, which was $3,850.00. I realize this was high, but I just wanted to get the plumbing issues resolved, so I agreed to the price and signed the estimate with the work scope. That was 13 days ago. Since then, I have not seen them, because I'm still waiting for them to get the part they need for the jazuzzi faucet. And the shower they snaked is clogged again, and the bathroom faucet that they changed out, once again, has little pressure. So in essence, 13 days later, my plumbing is in the exact same state as it was before they came out. I emailed Dave, the Branch Manager at Mike Diamond LSC #3 on Friday, 8/26/22 to inform them that the shower was once again clogged despite them snaking it twice in the same day, and that the bathroom faucet pressure was once again low, rendering useless the work that they spent all day doing when they were here. I indicated that I would need someone to CORRECTLY re-diagnose the plumbing issues before moving forward and spending nearly $4,000 on plumbing work. No response. I emailed Dave again on Saturday. No response. Today, Dave tells me I need to speak to Victor, who was one of the plumbers who came to my house originally and who ""diagnosed"" the issues. Victor then tells me that they STILL, after 13 days, do not have the needed cartridges for the jacuzzi faucet repair, and that he can send another technician out later this week, but can give me no logical reason why they STILL have not obtained the needed cartriges for the repair. I told him that I did not want to start from scratch with a different technician, I just want the issues resolved and repaired. I then asked Victor what is the actual ""PLAN"" for the repair, because I do not want them to have to keep coming out in multiple visits, and that I want to be informed of the actual plan of action before the visit, since there are so many different open action items. Victor then gets annoyed, and says, ""Well then go ahead and call another plumber!"" I instantly hung up on him, shocked at this poor level of customer service, and called back and spoke with Dave, the Branch Manager. Dave refused to let me get a word in edgewise when I tried to explain that I need an actual plan of action for the repair. Dave then said, ""I'm not gonna go back and forth with you like you just did with Victor! We said we're sending another technician out!"" I indicated to Dave that I just needed to understand WHAT work would be done when the technician came out, but he would not answer the question, repeating that he did not have time to go back and forth. Wow. Really? I've been waiting for 13 days to get my plumbing fixed, and now I'm told THEY don't have time to go back and forth with ME? Really?? I then asked for his supervisor, and he named Jeri Gordon. I asked for a call back from Jeri Gordon. This is ridiculous. 13 days later and not ONE of my plumbing issues is resolved. ***UPDATE**-- Called again today. ""Sherry,"" at the call center, insists that the only person she can transfer me to is the Branch Manager, Dave, the SAME person I'm reporting for poor customer service. After pushing, I got a call from Jeri Gordon, GM and Dave's supervisor, who tells me that Dave's side of the story is that ""the plumbing work never continued because I never agreed to the price."" I told her they have a copy of the estimate and work scope, WITH MY SIGNATURE ON IT, AGREEING TO THE PRICE AND SCOPE OF WORK! She then tried to say that my signature doesn't mean I agreed to the price or the work. I said, ""Why would I sign a document with a price tag and work scope listed, NOT agreeing to the price or the scope of work?!? What else would my signature mean??: She said, ""Well maybe you were just signing to acknowledge that you received the estimate."" WHAT HOMEOWNER SIGNS AN ESTIMATE FOR WHICH THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF MOVING FORWARD WITH THE WORK? She then tells me they could not find the cartridges for the jacuzzi repair. OMG! Self advertised as the ""SMELL GOOD"" plumbers, yet, the customer service STINKS.
