If I could give a negative star rating I would. I have been a customer for 16 years. Last week my 5 year old Lenox system air conditioner went out. (One that they had installed) They were quick to come out and diagnose the problem but said that they did not have the part in stock. It was in Iowa and would be in the next day. One week later the part is still not in. After 3 days with no air conditioner and no answers from Midwest other than I would just have to wait, I decided to call around town to see if I could locate the part. Two companies that I talked to told me the part I needed was backordered, but that I could replace the whole motor and have the problem solved. Since the unit was under warranty anyway, this was the best option and I could get it fixed asap. Myers Heating and Cooling came out within two hours and fixed the problem for less than Midwest quoted me and I got the whole motor replaced. Today I got another call from Midwest telling me my part was still not in and I would have to wait again. Told them my problem was already fixed by another company who was able to think outside the box and take care of someone who was not even their customer. Midwest rep could have cared less. Cancelled my yearly service contract with them and still did not even care. Stay away from this company. They do not care about the customer at all. If I had waited for them, I would be on day 9 without an air conditioner!

Midwest installed a new furnace and UV system last fall. Afterward, we noticed a significant increase in the temperature differential between the lower level and first floor in the house. We discussed this with the tech that did our mid - yearly check this spring. He suggested installing seasonal dampers. Another tech came out with plans to install the dampers in an area of duct which would only adjust for a small portion of the house. He left saying that they would consider another plan and get back, but through many calls and several months, no answers. I talked to the Service Manager and he said he would review and get back. Didn't hear from anyone until my call to them today. Got a call back from someone (never talked to that person before) who said they would not fix anything until late August. They had more work to do (broken ACs). Based on the limited info I received, I have no confidence about their plan to fix the issue. Their contact today told me I was welcome to call someone else about the problem, This is after I spent $8K with them last fall, and they installed it in a way that increased the problem. This is after 17 years of business I have given them.

Called late on a Saturday evening to request emergency service on our water heater. After a total of 6 calls a person who said he was on call finally returned our calls. In minutes he diagnosed we needed a new water heater. However he didn't have one in his truck and his warehouse was all locked up. He then said he'd call his manager and call us back ASAP on Sunday.
Did he call us back? No. Not even on Monday. I guess they are not interested
in our business as they surely don't deserve it and will never get it again.

Service over priced. Had minor Freon leak repair, and unit recharged with 6 lbs of R410A cost $736. Average cost for such work is $360, I would never recommend or use again.

I will never use or recommend this company. I was awakened by my fire alarm at 5:30am on a Saturday. Was told by firemen it was HVAC and to turn off unit. Called them around 9:00am, received a call about an hour later after stating it was emergent. The tech asked if I had a service agreement which I did not. Said he had two other jobs to do but would squeeze me in. Told me to call others and see but he would call when he was able to come. I called again at 4:00pm and asked for eta. No one ever called back. I went all day with no heat in January. I finally called another company and they were here within 45 minutes. If I could give 0 stars I would.

I called Midwest this morning to request service on my furnace. Temps were in the 30's and the house was in the 50's and dropping. Left a voice message with my name, furnace problem, make and age, along with my location and phone number. 11 hours later, after no attempt to contact me by Midwest, I'm writing this review. Nothing chaps my ass like a service company that blows off a customer's call. Fortunately, this will be the last review I have for this company.

Midwest replaced my home's 23 year old Lennox home HVAC system with a new, top of the line, high efficiency Lennox system for a reasonable price. I was impressed with the fast, free, custom tailored, detailed estimate, the ability to have the new system installed within just a few days, and the speed and quality of the installation team.

The estimator (Tom) arrived just two hours after I called for my free estimate. He was very personable and very knowledgeable. He helped me select the right components at the right price, with guidance about unit costs, efficiencies, energy savings, manufacturer rebates and tax credits to match my criteria. I liked that he had many years of experience, and he went above and beyond to make sure my new system (which replaced a broken system) was installed before an upcoming cold blast. I received two other estimates, and they did not go near as well, with a generic good, better, and best high priced estimate (without input from me) from one company, and another company selling only units from lower quality manufacturers.

The installation team started at 8:30 am, which was just two and a half days after I accepted the estimate, and went right to work. Like Tom, they also had many years of experience. They were ready for my project completion walk-thru at 3:00 pm. They did a great job in a short time. Nice!

Overall, I can highly recommend Midwest for home HVAC system installations.

We've used this company to replace hvac systems at two different houses over the past 30 years. They rewarded our loyalty by recently trying to charge us almost $400 labor to replace a defective Lennox thermostat that is still under warranty. This was after we paid them $170 to come out and diagnose the problem. We will look elsewhere in the future.

I've used this company for over a decade and then moved to a condo that has their equipment. I don't know what's gotten into them, but they totally ripped me off when they came out to check the drains and fix a faucet. They charged me $310(including $99 for service visit) to unclog a shower drain. They had to order the faucet(another $200) and said if I didn't pay them to unclog the drain that day, they'd charge $99 just for the est. and another $99 service charge to come back with the faucet, all total $610!! My furnace is theirs & their plumbing guy couldn't tell me where the filter goes, so I called and asked if they could have their furnace guy come out and show me where the filter goes( it's strange - no one knows) and they said that would cost another $99. So this company wants to charge me over $700 to unclog a drain(took 5 minutes), replace one bathtub faucet, & show me where the filter goes in their furnace. I've paid them $310 for 5 minutes work and they haven't called with the new faucet days after they said they would. Oh yeah, they also gave me a quote of over $2000 for a new water heater(40 gallon tank). I've been very sick with end-stage-renal disease and feel like a fool for letting them take advantage of me, but hell if I ever use them again for anything.

Service call was $99. To install a $28 dollar part, $168. So, $267 total. Other than test the capacitor and say it was bad, that's all they did. Capacitor is located on the outside fan HVAC unit that sits on the ground, has 3 clips. Took less than 10 mins to change and screw the door back on. Paid the $99, and purchased the part for $28 at Dey Dist.
