Sarah W.WOW! I am so impressed by the service we received! Our previous HVAC system was 20 years old, and we started having problems with it last year. Middleton completed a repair for us last year in August. After the repair, we scheduled for a salesman to come out to provide a quote to replace everything. Blake Humphrey was the salesman that came to our house and looked everything over. He provided us with 5 different quotes, along with financing options. We weren't quite ready to pull the trigger on a new system at that time, but I saved his contact information for when we were ready. Fast forward 11 months, it's the hottest week of the year thus far, and our AC went out again (for the 5th month in a row.....this was being handled by our home warranty company, not Middleton). By this time, my husband and I knew that we had to go ahead and bite the bullet and get it replaced. I remembered having Blake's contact information, so I sent him a text Thursday evening, asking if he still worked in sales at Middleton. He texted me back and we scheduled a time for the next morning to talk about what I had in mind. He got in touch with me the next morning, and I told him which system I was leaning towards. We also opted for the extended warranty, which I am very happy with. Once we had it all picked out, we then needed to be approved for financing. Once the financing was approved, we received an install date for Tuesday morning. They were all on time, friendly, and professional. Our new system is amazing, and we are so happy with it! Definitely worth the money, and I'm so happy to be working with Middleton so I can have peace of mind that our HVAC needs will be met.
Hunter M.I called Middleton on a Thursday morning due to my heater going out. They came out that same day and a very professional technician had my heater up and running within 30 minutes. It was overall a great experience and will refer them to others.
Had issue with heat. High limit switch that sells all day for 30 bucks online. Charged me 80 bucks for initial service, then 219.00 for 2nd visit to install the part. When I complained about the 1000% markup, was told well it includes a 1 year warranty. I could replace it 10 times in a year for that 300 bucks they cost me.
I won't be using Middleton again for anything after this.
Been using Middleton for the last few years with the contract of 2 Maint. checks yearly and 10 percent off labor I believe. Had been having trouble for the last year with the girls that answer the phone when I scheduled my appts. It came to a point in March 2019 they said we needed a new Heat Pump. They replaced the units for a hefty price. Used the air conditioner this summer and it was working good. I called Platinum Heat and air to service the unit for the winter. (I have dropped Middleton) They checked the outside unit and then went upstairs to check the part in the loft. The connections to the upstairs unit were just barely hanging together. Middleton had not tightened the connection when they installed the unit. Platinum H&A said if we had ran the heat it would be arcing and possible cause a fire. Before anyone thinks maybe they shook a lose, this is not the case. My husband was watching them when they checked the connections and they had been just barely screwed on and some could have fell off with some jarring. So glad we quit Middleton's and had someone else look at the unit or I do not believe Middleton would have ever seen it. It should have been installed right the first time.
Middleton's quote for new heat and air unit, even with my 10% ""customer discount"", was about twice the other 2 estimates we got. One of these estimates was for the exact same Trane units. We don't always take the lesser bids, because service, quality, workmanship and so forth also matter to us. But twice for the exact same unit? After getting our new units installed, I learned the company we went with charges about 1/3 what Middleton has been costing annuallly for their annual maintanance. I initially went with Middleton because the previous owners used Middleton, and, I did not do my homework to get other bids on servicing the units. I have been reasonably satisfied with their service, but, looking back, I wonder how much I overpaid on the repairs they made throughout the 10 years. One time I called for service, and a dumb mistake on my part (I allowed a broom to hit the ""off"" switch in the closet) cost me about $85, I think the service call was, and took the repairman maybe 1 minute to diagnose and fix (turned the switch back on!). I asked if any discount was available because I'd been with them for so many years. No, he said, sorry. I then wrote the company suggestion a ""one time accident forgiveness"" for longtime customers. I got no response. Don't make my mistake: do your homework, get at least 3 bids, then decide.
Had them do a service call on my AC unit in March and they charged me 150+ to clean the condenser coil and claimed that was the issue with my unit. Come May and the first real heat and the unit still wouldn't cool the house. So I called them and was advised that no you get 30 days on service so you have to pay a new service call. Big mistake on their part. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see there is something wrong and a big ticket item is in order but because of a lack of service that money went to another company. I would avoid them if you can. Not a positive company to deal with. Wish ole Chuck would take care of that instead of putting up billboards and buying catchy commercials.
When I sold my house, the buyers asked for an HVAC inspection. I called Middleton and asked for the HVAC inspection and soon after, a technician came out. I paid an invoice of $88. I gave the buyers the paid invoice and thought all was well. Two weeks after closing on the sale of my home, the AC goes out on the house. The buyers called Middleton because they had just checked the HVAC system and it was no longer working. Middleton told the buyers that I did not order an inspection, but, instead, I ordered a service call. I called Middleton to try and clear it all up and they were very rude and disrespectful. Their customer service said that they were 100% certain that I did not request an inspection. I even asked how much the inspection would have cost and it was $70, and I paid $88. They basically called me a liar and unintelligent. I told them that they should take care of that poor family that was having to deal with it and they completely refused to do anything. My realtor and I were so upset that we will never use them again. I suggest everyone else to stay away as well. Their customer service is possibly the worst I've ever dealt with.
This is my first review of any business up to date. Had several heat and air companies come out to try and figure out my new home's A/C issue. All 3 said the coolant was fine. One replaced a lot of duct work and spent most of the evening with us. All companies said the refrigerant level was fine. Middleton came in and recommended that maybe we needed to cut a hole in the ceiling, and add another air return. They also wanted to added refrigerant to the system. However, I declined that because the others said the levels were fine. They didn't check anything on the system upstairs. Even though I didn't agree to the coolant, they eventually charged me for it anyway. While the technician was there, he wouldn't allow us to speak to his supervisor, or his supervisor was unwilling to speak with us. Finally, the next company that came out found a very dirty coil, which was the source of the problem. They cleaned that, and it's been working fine since. Even though I didn't sign and agree to the refrigerant, I'm still paying the fairly large invoice to get it out of my hair. Needless to say, I won't be using this company again, and this review will likely not be my last for this company.
I called on Saturday and they could not come until Monday. They came Monday and replaced a capacitor and charged $248. The actual work took about 15 minutes. He spent about an hour total since he had to go buy the part. I have since found the part can be found online for about $25 including shipping. Installing the part took about 6 screws. I feel this was over priced.
Have used Middleton services for 10 years. They have always been reliable and prompt to respond to both seasonal maintenance and emergency repair services. That is especially appreciated when the AC breaks down on a hot Sunday in August. Their technicians are knowledgeable and curtious. Their service charges are reasonable and comparable to competitor's prices.
