I want to update this review and reflect that MPR has resolved my issue to my satisfaction. I appreciate the company stepping up and doing the right thing. Thanks to Gregg Greene for doing the right thing.


As of this posting, MPR still has not and will not reimburse me $1,000 that I paid to REMOVE their EQUIPMENT from MY property. This company is horribly irresponsible. So disappointed.

To respond to the owner's post, I ask, what have you done since MAY 23rd to resolve this issue? It has not been 12 days, its been almost a month that MPR and Gregg Greene have continuously denied responsibility for their poor workmanship. One would surmise that with MPR's experience since 1995, and their technician's 17 year experience, they would have had me sign something that clarified my responsibility if they screw up and get their equipment stuck on my personal property. I signed nothing. The 17 year experienced technician gave me no warning of the ""unknown"" or the ""unforeseen type of pipe"" that could perhaps get their snake stuck which would then be my problem and expense. I have never done business with a company that lays the cost and blame on the customer when they screw up.

The bottom line is, if you choose to do business with MPR, their cost of doing business will become yours, be forewarned.

?Wow!! I am impressed, same day service, here and gone within an hour, my bathroom sink drain has never worked so well. From the start, Dan from call center was very focused? and ""on-the-ball"", Charlie arrived in an hour, straightforward? with the plan, cleaned up the mess, and explained? what I needed to do to prevent it from occurring? again. Highly recommended!! A big Thank you!!

Called MPR two hours ago, they gave me a ballpark over the phone and showed up with a flat, transparent rate for cleaning my drain and ran me through the process.

Charles and Steven were really nice, and made clearing our sewer drain of tree roots as pleasant as possible.

They ran the line twice to ensure the pipe was clear and cleaned up everything afterwards. I'm confident it's a job well done.

I will, inevitably... be calling again and recommend these guys for sure!

We had a problem, Sunday about 5:30pm. Called their number and they had a Ryan on the scene by 6:00. He was thorough, professional, courteous and after some troubleshooting, fixed the problem. I would highly recommend this company and Ryan in particular. It is good to know you have a company you can count on 7 days a week.

It is important to me to support local businesses, but unfortunately this one has created too many catastrophes in our home. The people who come to do the work are very kind, but the work itself is simply incompetent. On one occasion, we had a blocked toilet with dirty water in it. The young man who was sent to work on the issue told me he planned to remove the toilet from its base. I told him that of course I am not a professional but it seemed that the water would come out on the floor? He replied that he had a towel--and gestured to a towel that was about the size of a dishrag. I foolishly decided to let him proceed as presumably he knew something I did not know. Not so. He lifted the toilet off the base, and dirty water went all over my bathroom floor, under the drawers beside our jacuzzi tub, and into the downstairs ceiling. I was horrified to hear my five year old yell, ""Mom! It's raining down here!"" Utterly revolting. That time Power Rodding took responsibility and repaired the terrible damage. The entire ceiling in our family room and laundry room had to be pulled down, replaced, and repainted. Total nightmare.

That was a few years ago, and I guess I had blocked it out because I foolishly called them AGAIN to come and clean out our sewer line (it needs regular maintenance to remove tree roots). My bad. Again, really kind and efficient workers did the job, easy people to have in the house. After the root prevention treatment, they said we should not run any water for several hours. I left the house, picked up my kids and didn't return for four hours. I came home to a completely flooded basement. We had to pull up carpet and flooring, a total disaster. And this time Michigan Power Rodding is dragging their feet about covering the cost of their damage. Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and avoid, avoid, avoid this company at all cost.

Edited to Add: I forgot to mention that during this second round of service, the workers drove their truck onto a city-owned grassy traffic circle shared by everyone in my neighborhood. Because it had rained, they left 3 inch deep ruts on the circle that are now a permanent part of what is essentially a neighborhood park for the children and dog walkers of my neighborhood. People constantly stumble and twist their ankles now as a result. No effort was made to try to remedy that situation.

Buyer beware. They're nice enough as people, but they've caused massive damage at our house twice in the last four years, and the second time they refused to accept responsibility for what they did. Basically they're zero for two. The first time, one of their guys picked up a clogged toilet that was filled with ""dirty"" water despite my wife's suggestion that it was a really bad idea to lift if off the seal. He said ""no, I know what I'm doing."" The entire ""load"" immediately dumped out of the bottom of the toilet, all over our bathroom, and soaked through the floor into the ceiling below it. Not cool. We lost about a week while one of their guys came out and replaced about a 10x10-foot section of ceiling. Then....... a month ago, they came out and did some preventive maintenance work on our sewer line. Immediately afterward (within an hour) the entire basement started filling up with water. This is a basement that never, ever floods.... year in and year out.... no matter how hard it rains. 3 hours later, the basement was 2-3 inches deep in water. About a thousand square feet of wood flooring, carpeting, and the bottom 12 inches of numerous walls, had to be torn out. Our basement has basically been ruined, and 4 weeks later the company's owner is still hemming & hawing & shucking & jiving about taking care of the repairs. Not returning calls, etc. We're probably gonna have to drag these guys into court before it's all over. We will never, ever, ever use them again and strongly advise everyone else to watch out.

Today (5/21/17) I called Michigan Power Rodding for a clogged toilet. Britney that answered the phone told me that she could guarantee me an appointment between 3 and 6 PM. She also told me that she could probably fit me in before that. At 3 she called me and told me that I was definitely still on the schedule and they should be getting to me soon.
At 5:15 Britney called me to inform me that she would be going home soon and they would not be able to get to me today. I asked about their add and website that stated that they were a 24/7 emergency company and she didn't know what to say. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me she would pass it along.
If you don't mind being lied to and strung along, then by all means give them a call. I have tried them twice for emergencies with the same results.
If you call them PLEASE have a back up plan.

Excellent work and customer service! I scheduled the appointment to clear a blockage on our main drain with a phone call in the morning, and Ryan arrived right on schedule, quickly diagnosed the problem, and had the blockage cleared and completely cleaned up. I would definitely recommend them, and will use them again if needed.
