Tech did not seem to know what he was doing, wasted a big amount of on the clock time calling in for rudimentary direction from others. No clear answers to simple problems, and the office strung out trying to fix the issue over weeks. Still not fixed, and tried to sell a new unit- went with a different company for a second opinion that took 30 min. And did not need a new unit at all. Avoid.

Not the the same business it was years ago. Service tech billed me 1.5 hrs for what was supposed to be a free estimate. Had to have another tech repair damage done from the first. To make matters worse, office billed me anyway and just made excuses the are experiencing turnover. No surprise there. Many otter plumbing companies to choose from. .

Michael's Plumbing installed a flexible gas line in our house for our new gas cook top. We got charged for 2 people when the second one (an apprentice?) mainly stood around and talked. When they came back out to hook up the cook top, I told the plumber right away that the gas line he brought was too long, but he had to mess around for about 20 minutes before he determined himself that it was too long and went back to the shop to get a shorter one (didn't carry these on the truck?) They literally are less than 5 minutes from our house and charged us a crazy amount of money for driving back and forth. They said the work had to be inspected and we were charged over $200 for the inspection. Found out today when we had a gas leak that they didn't ground the flexible tubing like they were supposed to. We paid them $705 for work that took less than 2 hours. We were new to the city and now know that there are much better plumbers out there and will never use them again.

This company has no upfront prices, a ""truck expense"" each time they come out, and they don't warn you ahead of time if someone else is coming to work on a project.
My husband and I used Michael's Plumbing & Heating for an issue that we had over the weekend. One plumber came out and during that time we were told that he would be back Monday so that the rates would be lower. Well Monday rolls around and he bought an assistant with him, which in turn almost doubled the price for the work being done. We were also slapped with an unexpected ""truck expense"" which is a 25.00 fee even though we only live about 3 miles away. This truck expense was not in the original ticket that we signed before being billed.

Totally fabulous. We've used Michael's for years. They come quickly and do a great job. We've tried other plumbers and we're not impressed. Micheal's is the best in the area in our opinion!

The owner and technicians were very polite and hardworking men! They fixed my heat in a timely manner left no mess ! Explained everything to me while they were fixing the heat ! They came in while I was freezing and made sure to leave my family warm and cozy !!! I highly recommend them !!!

Absolutely horrible! We had a leak in my utility room and were not sure if it was the outdoor faucet or the hot water heater. A guy came out, took 2 screws off the HW panel and said we needed a new hot water heater. (We didn't, it was the faucet.) He asked to borrow our phone, called his office, and then handed my wife a bill for $207.00! He wasn't there 10 minutes and didn't even put the panel back on the hot water heater! When I found this out, I called and cancelled the check, then called Michael's office and told them this was outrageous and if they sent me a reasonable bill I would pay it. Months later, I ended up sending a check for $50.00 just trying to resolve this. They returned the check and have sued me in civil court. I'm waiting to have my say, but it is very unfortunate that this bully business is allowed to practice in Virginia.
