Every problem with a water heater can only be solved with a BRAND NEW WATER HEATER for ONLY $4000! AND they can install it same day! AMAZING! Have had this company investigate two different issues with a water heater over a period of 5 years. Both times - problem fixed with a $150 part; either by myself of another competent plumber. Both times - they recommended replacing the entire water heater for merely a 400% markup! They are frauds. Period. Don't ever use them. If you want to dispose of $4,000 unnecessarily, please contact me. Happy to take it off your hands. :-)
Here we are again. After my first review Maurice reached out to me to offer some assistance. I was under the impression that perhaps some resolve would come about. I was referred to William Colt. He asked me to send him information to help move forward. I was told once the photos were emailed I would hear back in 48 hours. This was over 10 days ago and I have resent the requested information more than once. Still no response. Assuming this was just a stall tactic. The service fees paid for this contract should be refunded at the bare minimum and the issues still need resolve. Clearly clients are not important nor is their time.
I received a discount coupon in the mail for hvac system tuneup. They came out and inspected my furnace and heat pump. I was around while they were doing this. As far as I could tell, other than taking off the covers and using some test equipment, nothing else was done, other than replacing the furnace filter with one of MY filters. I had just changed it a month prior. I switched it back after they left.
More than a year after my crappy heat pump was installed, they continue to change the amount due and continue to ask for more and more money. Everything is on a tablet, you never get documentation, nothing to reference....such a nightmare
I am giving them one star because I can't give zero. My outside AC unit stopped working sometime Monday night into Tuesday morning. I called M&s as I have a service agreement with them. The soonest they could get out was Wednesday between 10-2. No probelm. They said they would call when the technician was 30 minutes away from the house. By noon, when I hadn't received a call, I called the 800 number to inquire about the status, the call center indicated that the technician had callled me and had been at the house and left a note on the front door.
I had my phone with me all day, and they had not called, nor did I leave a voicemail for me. When I asked when they could come back, he said sorry, he has other calls and couldn't get to my call until Friday between 10-2. When I explained that my house was 90 degrees and that I had an infant, they simply said sorry, Friday is the best they could do, even though they had totally dropped the ball.

Later on when I got home to my inferno of a house, I looked on the both front and back door and there was no evidence of a note or sticker indicating that the technician had been there. Bottom line- unacceptable. If they had truly been to my house they would have left an indication. And the fact that I have no missed calls or voicemail is very telling that they simply do not care about their customers
You are unlikely to get an experienced technician. They train and hire people to replace the current technicians. They hire people for permanent positions, when they should probably be hiring for temp jobs. The next set of trainees replace the current. If anyone is an experienced Michael & Son employee, they were probably not hired to do the work on your home.

1. No call backs from supervisors.
2. Takes January- April to get quote and demo.
3. Only have two employees for the entire city of Richmond.
4. Zero quality of the little work they did do...
More dents in my subfloors during the demo. dents in my walls from doing the demo of my floors.
5. Then after taking 3 months to complete the mold damage and demo of the floors--- I was told that they didn't have enough employees to finish the job and had to wait till the only two employees were finished with a previous job. to How does a company only have two employees?
6. This is the only thing positive is that Veronica a supervisor is referring us to another company because her company can't handle the rebuild in a timely manor. They had since February to act on the quote.
I would advise if anyone wants to use this company to do more research and pick someone else. This has been awful experience and would never recommend this company ever to anyone.
I called to schedule a tuneup on my AC unit, it was supposed to be a 21 point inspection. From the time the service guy walked in my door until I was signing for a credit card payment was EXACTLY 12 minutes, He had to go up in the attic too..............................., now isn't that amazing!!!!???? Nothing but crooks, DO NOT CALL THESE GUYS............................. unreal. I didn't get a tune up on my unit, I GOT RIPPED OFF!!!!
Great customer service. Took a little bit of a wait which felt like an eternity when your house had no AC and it's 80 degrees indoors
Absolutely terrible ac service in Leesburg, VA. They have been unable to fix the ac despite numerous stabs at it. They do not seem to understand how to fix it or what is the problem. The ac has failed multiple times over different summers. It is a relatively new unit and it is under warranty. They have made me wait weeks for parts. They also do not come out quickly when it breaks down, usually several days. Their web site says 24/7 but good luck with that. I usually have to wait several days.
Michael and Son has made me feel like someone living in the 1800's during the summer.
