After being given a very incorrect quote by our sewer inspector for our new house, I reached out to Michael Shute for the actual repair. I spoke at length with Kimberly who broke the bad news that the quote was grossly under the cost of the actual price, and after calling a few other companies to verify that the inspector had in fact given us a quote that was about $1000 under the actual cost, Kimberly and the crew at Michael Shute were kind enough to give us a fair price that met in the middle, even though they had no obligation to do so. When it came time to arrange the work, Kimberly kept me up to date with the progress and was able to set something up even though I was out of town. When the day to do the work came, Kimberly promptly notified us that the sewage inspector was again incorrect with how much work had to be done, and when their worker actually went out and saw how much had to be done he stopped contacted us and waited patiently while my husband and I scrambled to fix the situation. Keep in mind I was on the other side of the country and my husband was at work, and everyone at Michael Shute waited for us to weigh all our options. In total the work should have cost a few thousand dollars, but the AMAZING team at Michael Shute realized that we had really gotten a bad quote from the original inspector and had relied on this. They called us up, let us know that charging us what the job would really cost was unfair to us and they would be happy to do the work at a fraction of the cost. My husband and I were astounded at their generosity and fair business dealings, which are extremely hard to come by in this day and age. Michael Shute did an INCREDIBLE job, and I can't recommend them enough. Not just for the great work they did at our new home, but for their kindness, their understanding, their patience with us, and for keeping us updated every step of the way. A great big thank you to Kimberly, who was so patient and kind and realized what a pickle our sewage inspector put us in, and graciously remedied another company's mistake for a fair price. That was something they didn't have to do, but Michael Shute went above and beyond in their service. Cannot recommend this company enough!!!!!!

I was contacted by Michael Shute's assistant/employee the night before our scheduled annual maintenance. I was told our pre-scheduled appointment would be cancelled because another client had a plumbing emergency that may cause damage to expensive vehicles and property.
I had this appointment already scheduled and altered my day, schedule, and plans which now caused me a loss.
A couple of days later, the assistant called me back to reschedule. I kindly and politely asked if there was a possibility to get a discount on the service because of their cancellation and loss at my end. She immediately got upset at me, said ours was just maintenance not expensive cars involved, said I could take my business elsewhere, and then hung up on me.

i've used michael for jobs ranging from hundreds (new clean out for sewer) to thousands (a kitchen and bath remodel) over the years. he shows up himself, which i prefer, and gets the job done. he's professional and dependable. he returns calls, communicates well throughout the job, and definitely knows what he's doing. i've always found him to be very transparent and straight-forward.

The first time I used Michael Shute Plumbing, they repaired my sewer line out in the front of my house and they were the best. They were prompt, price was reasonable (even got a discount without asking) and I received a video on YouTube explaining the work, since I wasn't able to be there myself.
The second time I called Michael Shute Plumbing, a week later, my toilet was clogged. Michael came and snaked my pipe for free! You can't beat that kind of service. I'm glad I found a plumber I can trust and wants happy customers.

In response to the comment by the company, (2 years after the fact), they obviously do not remember the situation. An agent did not make the appointment, I made it personally and specifically said not Saturday. It was not cancelled the night before- it was never made for a Saturday to begin with. I was not a seller either. I never even met the crew because I was not at the property since we said ""not Saturday"". I never screamed or berated the crew, because, again, I was not at the property and I never met the crew. Also, I have no clue what squirrel they are talking about.
The only contact I ever had with this company was over the phone with an incredibly rude woman. I contacted the sewer company that referred us to them and they said they had many similar complaints about the person who runs the office and it was a shame because Michael Shute is actually a good plumber. Too bad.

Worst company I have ever done business with. Their worked failed inspection and I had to call another plumber to fix it. Their secretary Kim is the rudest person ever. Doing a huge remodel with reputable contractors and didn't have a single problem except this little $1,500 job that they totally messed up.

By the way, check them out. They advertise that they are Better Business Bureau AAA++ rated but they aren't even registered with the BBB

The only plumber I would ever call. Two other companies said I need a new drain line for 20k, then Michael came out, showed me the camera line, guess what, nothing wrong!!! Most honest guy in the business! Paid him the service call and that was that. Thank God for him!!!

I have used Michael for an assortment of jobs for the last several years on a couple of properties. From changing out old pipes to fixing issues with sewage lines to repairing others mistakes. He has always done an excellent job. I have tried others, professionals and amateurs alike, and always come back to have him do it right. He isn't the least expensive but he has always done the job well.

As far as the other reviews go, it seems that he might need to replace his receptionist since his work has been nothing short of excellent in the several times that I have used him.

I'm so upset right now! Guys if you didn't born in the USA u shouldn't call them!!!

My English is not perfect and when I called, the woman told me that I should find someone that can speech English and hang up the phone. If I don't have perfect English I'm not alowed to talk??? They really don't deserv my business.

I keep getting invoices from Michael Shute Plumbing. I called to inquire about the invoices and the receptionist told me that it was my problem and just hung up on me.

Seriously, you can find adequate plumbers anywhere. Take your business elsewhere.

EDIT - I just saw Michael Shute's comment below. I can assure you I am not a ""scammer private yelp sales person."" I was a paying customer that was treated unprofessionally.
