Had a young plumber come out to use camera to determine where drainage leak was under basement floor. Paid 475. Never got an estimate. Man suggested a few times getting another company to fix. What did I pay for.
Michael Runk did a terrible plumbing job on our renovation stay away from this company
Kristy K.Our sump pump had a 5 year warranty sticker on it so we called because something didn't look right in the pipe. We had to call him more than once before we got a time for Michael to come look at our pump. THEN he charged $145!!!! Just to look at it. Really?! What a rip off!!! It's under warranty!!!
Very Expensive and Dishonest! He was supposed to give me a free estimate. He looked at my outside faucet. He said ""let me see what I can do."" Ended up changing a top that probably costed him $2. He never disclosed any price. He writes me a ticket for $168. $168 in just 10 minutes!!
I call him 2 hours later to inform him that I am considering filing a complaint. He says ""This is the trust cost of our services, but I will come in and give you your check back and remove the part I installed"" 2 days later he doesn't show up. I call him he says ""I am coming today"" The day he said that they cashed the check that they were supposed to return. Following day I call him back and he says ""you shouldn't have given us the check if you were unhappy with work"" No I shouldn't have trusted you to come back after you deceived me once.
Called and reception took message. I got a return call pretty quick from the owner who was accommodating to make an appointment quickly and gave helpful advice over the phone. I would call him again for future plumbing work.
So I made the huge mistake of going with Michael Runk plumbing and heating. He told me he could do use a small machine to fix our plumbing for $285 and if that didn't work he would have to use the large machine for $385. He said he would try the small machine first but when he gave us the bill it was for $385!!! When we asked him why the price was $100 more than we discussed he said he could tell that he would have to use the large one because of his illustrious 30 years of experience. He didn't even try the small one first like we discussed! And did not inform me that he was using the large machine.
As the previous poster stated, our experience with Michael was great to start... prompt response on the phone, quick to come out to investigate our problem. However, upon arrival, Michael seemed clueless as to where our pipes even were in the house... then when he realized our issue was with the sewer line, he quickly decided that he did not want to do the work. When he was investigating the outside pipe and he saw that it was bubbling he told me he wasn't going to touch that pipe because our crap would come at him. I asked him what we should do then... he told us to call a plumber. REALLY?? I guess he was not a real plumber. He seemed to be in a hurry to leave our house since it was 4pm... he left us without fixing any of our problems... telling us that we needed to have our whole yard torn up without even knowing what the issue was and asked us if we wanted the job done without getting any city permits (RED FLAG). He didn't leave without charging us almost $300.... to not fix our problem.
Since he had told us to get a plumber to fix our problem, we did... a real one.
Robert V.Started off very very well!!! The phone service was great!!! The on call personnel seemed to know what he was talking about. Job was pretty simple, move a well tank and filters. Job was completed and asked about well tank. Had a recent pressure loss and explained what the on call person told me. Was then told that was wrong. Then I was told that pressure tank was not working correctly but I should not worry because the water system still worked. Was informed that even though it's not operating correctly there doesn't appear to be a problem??? How does that work??? Was also told, too bad, the plumber was off now and he'd have to fix it later. Had to step away after that and pay them to leave. Now I must find someone else to finish the job. So disappointed with what started off as a great experience. I MOST DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!!!
