Work was well, but he didn't finish the job and it still isn't finished. He left a pile of cement in our driveway. We called several times and he won't come get rid of it. It's in our driveway and a mess.

Some day, I'm going to write a really, really good review about a general contractor, I promise - when I find one. My co-worker referred me to MJ Plumbing. They've got two 5-star reviews on Google, so with a referral and some positive reviews, I thought, hey, maybe I'll get lucky this time. Not really....

On the upside, when I called, I asked for a specific appointment time because it's hard for me to get away from the office. So they gave me a 3pm time and Mike showed up right on time. Seemed very friendly and professional.

Took a look at the now 3 or 4 leaks in my house (expanded from two from several months ago when I was trying to find a plumber back then). Told me that he needed parts and he'd have to come back. Told me he'd find time the next morning. So, I was a little irritated, but I thought, ok, I need the parts, I'll wait.

Next day comes, all morning goes by, no contact of any kind. I text. He's got a house that is flooding, will come in the afternoon. Ok. That seems important - so I wait until the afternoon. No contact. Two more days go by, no contact. So finally I text to say, ""Please tell me if you're going to come back, because if you're not, I need to find another plumber.""

So, he comes back, with a apprentice and WITHOUT THE PARTS! Proceeds to look at the multiple leaks and of course, now has to go get parts. He fixes something and leaves me in the trusty hands of his apprentice.

When the dust settled, my kitchen sink had half the water pressure it used to have, they installed the hot/cold in my utility room backwards, so I nearly burned my hand off when I turned on the cold water. FYI guys, in America, cold is on the right and hot is on the left. And my basement leak - they completely replaced the faucet and guess what, it was still dripping. Not as bad, but the pipe was still wet. Had to go over it with plumbers putty.

When I texted to tell Mike him that he installed the utility sink backwards, It took him a day to get back to me. Fortunately, his apprentice Doug got back to me right away, scheduled an appointment and came back and fixed everything to my satisfaction.

I'm still waiting on the bill for all of this work, though his verbal quote seemed fair.

Guys - do your customers a favor. Set appointments. Show up when you say you will. Ask about the type of faucets and plan for parts in advance. Or if you say you're going to come back with parts, come back with them within 24-hours. Be a person of integrity and honor your word. Do GREAT work! That will go a long ways in keeping repeat customers and getting really great reviews that keep new customers coming!
