Recently purchased an older home in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. We were having new floors installed and needed to have our radiators removed and then reinstalled. We were referred to Mike by the flooring company (Verrazano). He coordinated with us and the flooring company. Came on time and did great work. While removing the radiators I talked to Mike about some concerns that I had about our older furnace/heating system. While there he inspected the system and two days later, when reinstalling the radiators, was able to service the system and upgrade all the older valves on the radiators to new more efficient ones. A week later we had Mike install a new programable digital thermostat which he took time to explain how to program. All work was resonably priced and quoated before any work was done.
Mike is very knowledgable and confident. He was able to make, what was for us (new home owners), a stressfull contstruction project easy and stress free. I would absolutely reccomend Michael Donahue Plumbing and Heating.

At 9 PM on Friday night, 1/31/20, I found our hot water heater leaking badly. A well-known local plumbing company, who had installed the water heater 17 years before, said they could not come until Monday morning at the earliest. I then called Mike Donahue, who we had never used before. He walked me through turning off the main valve to the water heater, as well as the gas. After I sent him photos, he came back within 15 minutes with a quote. He was at the house by 2 PM the next day and by 5 PM, a new water heater was installed, the old one removed and everything left clean. He was professional, personable and very competent. The price was fair and the work was efficiently and quickly done. Mike Donahue is now my new plumber.

We got our water heater leaking and it needed to be changed. I was very picky choosing a plumber for this task. I am glad now I found Mike here on Yelp. He is a gem, bright head and know his business from A to Z, no doubt. He came on-time with his teammate and they removed the old heater and installed new one for under 2hrs, they made sure it was properly working, tested it and helped to get old heavy unit outdoor taking up one flight of stairs to the curb. I can't be thankful enough and it was absolutely positive experience and the price was corresponding with other guys I got quotes from. Overall I was provided with quality efficient and stress free service and I have no doubt I will use Mike again for any plumbing issues in the future!

Mike is a responsive, professional, who does great work! He replaced our water heater and there were absolutely no issues. He is licensed and insured, shows up when he says he will and he was respectful and cautious about not impacting the common areas of our building and the work space in our home. I was very happy that I found Mike. He fixed the problem with my steam boiler and much more. Unlike some other plumbers who charge a lot but deliver a little, Mike truly knows what he is doing and is concerned about his customers. Mike's genuine concern to help is what guided him to my home and to interest himself with fixing the heating and plumbing problems.

Michael is an absolute pro and a gem. I contacted him after our sink decided to start gurgling up what smelt and looked like sewage water and one of the handyman in our building who worked through 2 hours of sweat could not figure out how to fix it.

Left Michael a message, told him our building management are absolute dicks who will require us to have his COI before he comes. He sent it to us first thing in the morning, I forwarded to the super, as our building requires, and somehow the idiotic super still held him up for an hour. AN HOUR. After an hour, after absolutely nothing changed, he let him up.

Understandably, Michael was upset (as I would have been if I were home instead of my partner) because that's parking and costumer time that being wasted, but he still agreed to come up and took one look at the sink and knew exactly what the problem was.

Because of how sucky this building is, they built the pipes horrendously incorrectly so his best guess was that the handyman snaked the wrong pipe. Anywho...from what I hear, Michael came, imparted some wisdom, fixed the issue and left to save another home. As quick as that.

One of the few genuinely helpful and intelligent quotes I've ever received on Yelp. I had a heating problem that I had to reach out to a bunch of people for quotes on ASAP. I described it thoroughly, and Michael was the ONLY person who responded with any ideas or knowledge about the problem--everyone else just replied with an 'interesting, give me a call' or 'hi id love to help' with no quote whatsoever. What's the use of the Yelp quote service if the people don't actually give you a quote? Ridiculous. Anyway, don't hesitate to contact Michael--this guy is the real deal.

I Called Mike Donahue for a boiler water pipe (badly rusted) repair. He responded immediately and hours later he was at my home assessing the problem. He gave me a monetary quote for the repair, which was reasonable and I agreed too. He proceeded to make the repairs in a minimal amount of time. The pictures I attached don't really do justice as far as what task he faced to make the repairs. The pipe was practically wedged between the boiler and a wall (13 inches). Not only did he repair the pipe nicely, he pointed out some other anticipated problems that might arise in the future. He made some additional repairs and fine tuned to my boiler. Moreover, when the job was completed, Mike actually lowered my my final bill! Mike is very personable and professional and highly recommend him for any plumbing job you may have no matter how big or small. Great job Mike!
