By far the worst contractor from a quality of workmanship and warranty stand point. If your a business owner (or home owner) considering them for a plumbing or hvac project - think again.
Craig Z.We had our furnace go out during the first cold period (20 degrees) in early November late on a Thursday night. Meyers installed this furnace about 13 years ago. Called them Friday morning at 8am for service and they agreed to send someone out and would get back to me. Didn't hear back and I called them at noon for an update. They promised assistance between 1 and 4. Technician showed up at 3. In about 15 minutes he let me know the blower was out and he didn't carry this part and it would be next week before they could order and replace it and it would cost $1,100. I told him we would like to replace the blower. I didn't hear anything from Meyers throughout the weekend so I called them Monday morning for an update on fixing it. They said they would call back with a time / day to fix it. I did not hear anything back all day so I called them at 4pm. Meyers offered to fix it on Thursday afternoon 1 to 4. No morning options and afternoon options had no flexibility for our work schedule. Very cold throughout the weekend and week leading up to Thursday. Technician called Thursday around 3 that he was heading over to install the blower and the bill would be $1,200. Technician arrived and had the blower installed and furnace working in about 30 minutes. Bill total was almost $1,400! I remained calm and gave him a check. Technician took my check and email address and said they would send or email a receipt. I waited for over a week and no receipt was emailed or mailed. I then called Meyers and asked for a receipt. I just received the receipt in the mail about three days later. This was hands down the worst communication I have ever seen from a local service company, total lack of empathy, and no sense of urgency during cold weather. Almost a week to fix a furnace, a price that went throughout the process, and to top it off I had to call for the receipt! Meyers is bad!
Dealt with this company for so many years. Even got into the so called VIP program. Called October 12 for a furnace check up and had appointment for November 8, 2018, a day off work. Gave me window between 9 am and 12 pm. Called this am to make sure someone coming for this check up and confirmed the appointment sometime later since they were on a job in Withing. Yet someone from the company called me 2 hours later wanting to reschedule the appointment for another day...... Are you kidding !!!! . Not reliable ! No body knows what is going on . They expect people staying home waiting for their calls. However people have to make a living as well .The person in charge of the jobs and work schedule needs help . Actually they don't deserve any star, at all, but this is NOT an option unfortunately .
This company seems to be hit or miss. My family has dealt with them years. Either they are awesome or disappointing. My Senior Citizen parent scheduled a Furnace cleaning and check up over a month in advance. They called to reschedule on the day of (12/11) for December 27. They gave my mother like twenty reasons why could not come out. Ok maybe maybe it wasn't 20 excuses. From the technician having a personal issue to the high heat in September. So I called to find out if the service could be done sooner......The person who answers the phone has an excuse for everything. She had NO concern for customer service nor did she care about customer loyalty. She basically said they could not come out sooner and if we had to find someone who could do the job just let them know. I told her if we did find someone else to do the job, we would never use Meyer again. That would be two house holds and word of mouth. She truly could have cared less. Yea she said I am sorry and yea she was quick point out she was just doing her job.
My big issue with this whole thing was all Meyer had to do was contact us and tell us they had to reschedule. As a customer I do not need to know about their company problems. It sort scared me that unseasonal temperatures in September was still an issue for them in December. I so frustrated talking to R@#$%, because it was excuse for everything. My question was and is can someone come sooner than 27th.
No communication between lady who sets up jobs and plumbers! In the end, cost me $70 to have John show up and tell me ""never seen a hot water heater like this"" and that he wouldn't recommend messing with it. This all could've been dealt with if the lady whom books jobs had an experienced plumber(which I was told would happen, and never received the call from the plumber) speak with me before showing up at the house. DO NOT hire Meyer to do a job that isn't fixing a leak or replacing a toilet. They will tell u they can do the job, then show up and tell you all the reasons that they can't do the job.
Ps. Technician John was very nice and knowledgeable. If I would've had the chance to speak with him over phone about job prior to showing up, like it was told to me by the booking lady, he would've not showed up to attempt job.
I WILL NOT work with Meyer Plumbing in Griffith, IN ever again!!!!
We bought a new furnace from Meyer's and wondered for about 12-15 months why it seemed less efficient than our old one. Then it started clicking off. And it required several home visits to check it out, which cost us at least $84 every time. Their professional advice to us, no lie, was that we were buying filters that were too good and we should ""buy cheaper filters"" and everything will work better. We tried that because, well, it was winter and we needed our furnace to work. About the fourth time it quit, completely frustrated, one of the technicians troubleshooting finally concluded and discovered they had sold us a new furnace with a faulty ""smartboard."" Essentially, the issues we were experiencing wasn't due to the type of filers we were buying at all. It was the fault of the manufacturer -- which the manufacturer's technician confirmed. Relieved, we listened to the guy order the part and schedule the installation...And then he wanted me to sign for the $84 service fee for his visit.
When I objected to the owner about being charged $84 for his technician to come to my house -- the third or fourth time we were charged that fee -- to fix a flawed furnace they sold to us, he gave me the party line about company policy. Oh, they did offer to take some money off an air conditioner, as if I'd actually buy something from a company that cost me hundreds of dollars I didn't need to spend. That's not customer service. That's insulting. They sold us a bad furnace and took our money for more than a year as we tried to fix it and, once we figured out what was wrong, they refused to waive the ""company policy"" fee of $84? We're done with them. Still waiting for my refund.
We had Joe come to our house for an estimate. We agreed on a price and he said he will send us the contract later. We had most of the water pipes changed by this company . After few days of work, we were called and said they were done. Checked water pressure, everywhere was fine but the kitchen and laundry room were not done. We were told that was not included. It shocked us, why wouldn't we want the kitchen done when we had our meeting in the kitchen with Joe and he knew that was the main reason. This company, lied to us and we had to pay another $800 to get the job done. Joe agreed to a different price because he knew we were going to pick a different company for that price. Will never have them do any work for us.
We tried multiple times to reach out to Joe and explain what happened, he never called back
David M.I've used them a couple of times now for heating, air-conditioning and plumbing. Prompt service with call-ins before they arrive. Replaced my entire HVAC system and they did a professional job. Had an issue with the A/C unit where it turned on anytime the furnace turned on, but they came back the next day and fixed it. Would definitely recommend them for any work they do.
September 02, 2016 I placed a call for service on my water heater. I told the dispatcher that my water heater pilot light would not stay lit. A service tech. came out and told him what the problem was. He and I go down stairs in my basement and he pulls out my pilot light shows me that the wiring needs to be replace but assured me that the pilot was good. He proceeds to clean the area of debris and goes out to his van and comes back with wiring replaces the old with the new to my pilot. I'm watching as this goes on which takes about 15 minutes. He told me there would be a charge of $269.65 after he had finished but he would not tell me how much it would cost before he started. I asked for a detail receipt and was not given one at the time. I told Meyer's if they did not provide me a receipt I was going to call the better business bureau, then I was told that the had mailed it to a different address. I received my receipt on September 16,2016. Diagnostic fee $69.00 which I had already told them what was wrong. Service Labor $99.00 for 15 minutes of work. $95.00 for miscellaneous materials this for the wiring because the pilot was mine's. I called Meyer's about these charges and was told that I was lying about the parts and I stood there and watched their service technician perform the job. I enquired about the parts and he said there was nothing wrong with the pilot just the wiring but I got charge for a new one. I told them to come out and review the part because I could show them proof that the part was mine's. Told by Meyer's that this was not there job, please reconsider before using this company. Research and demand price up front.
I would NEVER recommend or use this awful company again. I am so dissatisfied with their installation and attitude. The complete lack of professionalism was overwhelming. When I asked a question of one of the installers he said ""Let me school you on this."" I called and talked to Kevin H. and again I was offended by his attitude and total disregard of my concerns. Dave then came by to offend me face to face. I asked Dave...Would you do to your own home what you have just done to mine and he said ""NO"". WOW! I will now have to spend hundreds of dollars to repair/fix what they did. I believe that this installation was over their abilities and just looked at the $$$......
