called Metzger, on Friday, said they would have a plumber out Monday morning. He shows up and looks at the problem, and fixes it without all the b.s. I got from other plumbers who came out and wanted to charge me 250 to 4 hundred dollars more and do this whole big smeal. Anthony came out and looked at it shut off the water, and fixed the leaking in my tub. He did tell me that my tub guts are old and will eventually need to be replaced, but he fixed the washers, and gave it the once over. no more leak. Gave me a 30 day guarantee and was on his way in about an hour. i definitely will call Metzger again for my plumbing problems. Anthony was great, you can tell by his being that he was an up and up guy. Thank you Metzger!

Robert Metzger plumbing recently replaced my garbage disposal. Even though it was a small job, they were willing to do it in an efficient, timely, and courteous manner. I couldn't have been happier with the service, and I would recommend them to anyone.

I am very pleased with Rob Metzger's plumbing service. I am a property manager and hire him from 1-5 times a month. Him and his team are VERY reliable, friendly and can usually get to a repair the next day.

I have relied on these guys for a variety of issues from the very small to ""rain"" in my kitchen. Always friendly, prompt, helpful and informative. I call them first every time!

Please read to save yourself a lot money, frustration and grief.

Rob Metzger and his team are the most unprofessional, incompetent and unethical plumbing contractors I have ever worked with. If there were an option for ""Zero"" stars, I would have selected that - this is a brutal review but an honest one.

Rob was hired to rough and install vanities, toilets and shower fixtures for a home renovation after our original plumber had to be let go for not securing proper permits. Rob came out to the job site just a few hours after being called. He was quick to secure the proper permit for the job and started work shortly after. He said he would ""make right"" everything the original plumber didn't do. I thought we had found a great match. However, my excitement and high hopes were short lived.

UNPROFESSIONAL
* During the course of the project, two different plumbers he dispatched to the job left with a promises to return on several occasions with unfinished work and never showed back up. This became standard practice after about a week of starting the job. This caused several delays in finishing this project. Rob kept pulling his guys off the job to take care of ""other plumbing emergencies."" Apparently our job and the $8000.00 he was bing paid weren't important enough.

* Rob himself, used vulgar and profane language in front of small children and out of town family and guests - he had to be confronted to ask him to refrain from using his vulgar language and volume in the home.

* One of his plumbers sent me several inappropriate text messages during the project. That particular plumber was asked to stop sending these offensive discriminating texts messages yet it continued until the day that plumber was asked not to return to the job site.

INCOMPETENT
* Rob could not locate the master shut of valve for the house. One of the casual laborers on the job had to show him where it was.
* Completely ignored manufacturer's instructions and specifications for installing vanities and hardware. As a result, they improperly roughed (ran pipes) bathrooms causing the need to remove freshly installed tile (this happened several times) and required reinstall once the rough in was corrected (by another plumbing company).
* Refused to take credibility or responsibility for his errors, which resulted in thousands of dollars in repairs.
* Disregarded personal property - dropping his tools and fixtures on freshly laid floor tile causing damage the required rework to repair and replace tile. Damaged two expensive bathroom faucets. One of his plumbers dropped the shower diverter onto the tile floor, breaking the tile and damaging the diverter. Diverter had to be re-chromed. Spilled a bright purple PVC bonding agent on the side of the natural stone vanity causing it to have to be professionally buffed and polished to remove stain. Improperly installed the shower pan floor in the master bathroom. His resolution to fix the error was to shove pieces of slate under the shower pan. My general contractor decided to fix it himself to eliminate any further delays. After shower pan was installed, the general contractor informed the plumber not to touch the shower pan until the thin set/cement had cured and set. The plumber tried to install the drain prematurely, causing the shower pan, to once again, be off level.
* Installed a shut off valve to an outdoor water supply along an exterior wall, then a week later the pipe burst. The new plumbing company informed us that you cannot install a shut off valve anywhere near an exterior wall. It defeats the purpose of eliminating the pipes from being clear of water after shutting them off.

The list goes on. There is not nearly enough room on this review to site all of their errors and mistakes.

UNETHICAL
* After several and long group discussions on how to fix the errors that his company caused, Mr. Metzger agreed to forego the $1500 balance that was owed to him for the work in order to get everything fixed and operational. After another week of work, and his employees walking off the job because they were not competent enough to install the plumbing fixtures, Rob refused to stick to his word to finish the job. He then insisted that in order to return that he would now require the $1500 plus an hourly rate of $115/hour to finish all unfinished work. He then threatened to remove his name off the plumbing permit.
* Blamed every other contractor on the job for his mistakes and denied damaging fixtures that his plumbers worked on. They were the only ones touching any plumbing fixtures.

Again, there is not enough room to detail everything. In the end we had no other choice but to hire another plumber to fix all of his mistakes. After labor and repairs to damages caused by his plumbers we were left with a total cost of over $6000.00.

Do not hire this plumber.

Rob came during the freezing cold week when everyone's pipes were freezing. He completely fixed my kitchen sink and drain issues and explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. He took the time to make sure everything was working properly before he left. Even my mom liked him. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone with plumbing needs.

I am writing my review a year later because I JUST learned that I was ripped off from last year! I didn't write a review then because the service was sub par at best, but my problem was fixed. On December 23, 2012 , my roommate declared there was no more hot water. As a new homeowner, I was terrified that my family flying in for the holidays would not have access to a hot shower. I panicked and went straight to Yelp for plumber suggestions. I happened upon Robert who was kind enough to come out a few hours later. He arrived and told me that there were too many 90 degree turns in my piping connected to the hot water heater and thus my water heater was working too hard and giving up. Ok....my hot water heater is lazy. So, he was going to send someone else out to make the adjustments to the piping. He needed a check for $250 (parts + labor). Done. My mother , who works for Whirlpool, was a silent observer, until it came time to pay. She told him that she had looked at the water heater and it was indicating an error message by blinking a certain number of times. He dismissed that and said that he knew what he was talking about and that the error message was due to the piping. My mom retreats-to let me learn a lesson. Another man comes, changes piping, leaves, no hot water. Another guy comes , observes previous work, calls other two guys who were previously there, leaves, no hot water. ALL 3 men come back, speak in hushed tones in the basement, decide my problem is the blower- a malfunctioning part, call Bradford White (manufacturer), order part, tell us it will be in after Christmas, leave, no hot water. My mother diagnosed the exact problem by paying attention to the error message that the hot water heater was sending out. I decided to trust the plumber I paid money to. Too shorten this up, the problem was fixed, but it took a lot of calling Robert (once the part came in) to have him come back and install it. It took him under two minutes to install. Fast forward to today when I go into the basement because I am having the same problem. I pay attention to the error message and then call Bradford White on my own. Guess whose hot water heater is still under warranty until 2015?! Mine. All of the parts are covered as well. I paid Robert $250 to fix something that was covered under warranty. For someone in the plumbing business for years, it is odd that he chose to ignore the error code on the unit. Funny how that worked out well for him.
The moral of this story is listen to my mom-she is always right AND don't use Robert Metzger. I found him to be dishonest.

I called up because had some pipes freeze. I had isolated the pipes that were the problem and had tried everything I could think of but the problem was still unresolved. On the phone, he explained to me the TRUE source of the problem and gave me a plan going forward. Within 30 minutes I had hot water running with no problem.

I cannot speak to how they are in person or their timeliness, but I can say that providing some free advice on the phone instead of just hanging up or saying they cannot do anything without showing up was truly appreciated. This is the kind of local business that we need more of. Thanks!

Great experience. My heater needed to be replaced. Called Rob Monday afternoon and he came over same day and on time! He explained what he would do in detail and sent me a quote that night and told me when he could do the job,( 3 days later).
He arrived in the morning as schedule, on time and totally prepared. When job was finished, everything was cleaned up, very neat.
He also called later that day to make sure everthing was OK.
This will be the plumber I will use from now on.
He also had the best price (I had 2 other bids) and was the most knowledgable.
