Metro Heating and Cooling installed my new residential central air conditioning unit. I had selected the five companies with the highest ratings on the Internet to submit bids (of which they were one). I then entered all of the relevant data into an Excel spreadsheet. Metro Heating & Cooling was the winner! The combination of equipment (Bryant), customer service ratings, warranty and price made it a no-brainer. The installation guys did an excellent job and were very professional and courteous.

However, the unit was cycling on and off, so I called Metro. They sent out Brian, the troubleshooting tech. He is a remarkably knowledgable and competent tech. Brian spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting my NEST thermostats and talked directly to the NEST tech person on my behalf. Ultimately, it was determined that the thermostats needed a ""fifth wire"" hooked up to ensure sufficient voltage. Brian proceeded to perform this task on both thermostats and everything is now running great. The entire experience was a pleasure and I feel like I really got what I paid for.

Special thanks to Brian for his patience, great customer service attitude and technical abilities. He went out of his way to make sure my system was working good and that I was totally satisfied. When I asked why the installers didn't make sure it was not cycling, Brian explained that the installers specialize in installations, while techs like himself specialize in working out any issues that may pop up. This explanation makes sense to me and so I offer my recommendation to everyone that Metro Heating and Cooling will take good care of you.

Our contractor John not only did what we needed him to do, but he did extra. We had issues with our water heater, and our thermostat. He was able to take care of my water heater and even show me steps on how to make my water warm. He helped me clean my furnace from debris and replaced my thermostat with one that worked. Now I have warm water and a warm house. A++ work and highly recommend them if you need any help with your water or air condition.

We needed a new furnace and decided to go with Metro. It took a week for us to actually have the furnace installed, and during that time our home maintained a chilly 59 degree temp. The installation went well and they were respectful of our home and cleaned up when they were finished. They did discover on the day of installation that our air-conditioner coil was damaged, so that ended up costing us an additional $800, which would have been nice to know up-front, but I guess that's not possible until the furnace is taken apart. A week after installation, our furnace quit working. They came right away and discovered that the ignitor switch was bad. It took 1 day for them to order the part and get it installed. They gave us space heaters to use in the mean time. It was disappointing to have a problem so soon after getting the new furnace, and we hope this doesn't mean we have future problems to look forward to.

My furnace had been making an awful rattling noise which I was worried was the furnace itself. I finally gave up and called someone to help. They were easy to schedule and got to me much quicker than I expected! He was able to stop any extra noises in the furnace and gave me some advice on the air filtration system which will save me a lot of money while he was there. Very nice and polite. I would definitely call them again if I have a problem.

Never use Metro Heating and Cooling. Back in January I shopped around to replace a three season family room heater and selected Metro Heating and Cooling based on cheap price. That was the biggest mistake I made.

First a ""qualified technician"" came out and installed a wrong unit and after he was done the system wouldn't stay on. Little did he know that he installed the wrong unit and was suggesting to drill a hole on the wall or a vent to the roof to provide ventilation for the heater. I refused, and in hindsight, am glad I did because we could've been dead if I allowed that.

At winter's end, shut the heater down and now in October, turned it back on and it won't stay on. A different ""qualified technician"" came out and doesn't understand simple gas piping on the unit. Worst of all, he was suggesting keeping the heater on all year round, even in 90 degree heat. He said he thinks a couple of parts had a problem with a new unit. Luckily there was a year warranty for them to deal with it, too sad I will have to fork up another $2000 or more to replace this unit again.

As of today they ordered a part from Chicago they said and is still not available. Talk about unprofessional behavior, they get irritated when I call to check on the status of the parts.

Do your research, avoid these unprofessional and non trust worthy bunch.

We have used Metro Heating and Cooling for many furnace and boiler replacements, as well as small repair jobs. We have found them to be both professional as well as very nice to work with. I have had numerous contacts with Dave R, Eric, Micah and Dave B (owner) and all of them have been very helpful with anything we have ever needed! We have found their prices to be very competitive and sometimes even a bit lower than some other companies. We recently tried to package heating and cooling along with plumbing by company who does both to save a bit and for simplicity and scheduling purposes. However, we had a horrible experience with them in work and in customer service and we went right back to Metro!! Lesson learned. Metro Heating and Cooling has a long history with us of good customer service along with quality work.
