I recently bought my first house and something came up in the inspection that seemed like it could be dangerous to not get repaired so I arranged to get an estimate from a couple plumbers in Portland. Some of the others didn't want to drive out to give an estimate, but Meticulous had no problem with it. I noticed a leak from the washer hookup also that I wanted to have them take a look at before I get a washer and dryer in place. Leo gave me a call letting me know when he was on his way and was right on time. He took a look and explained exactly what was going on with my water heater and why I shouldn't bother spending my money on it. It turned out to not be much of an issue at all, unlike what I was originally led to believe. He took into account the fact that I likely don't have a lot of money to throw around since I just bought a house and that was appreciated so much! He also explained the likely causes of the leak and that it also wasn't likely to be a problem once I get a washer hooked up. I was amazed at the courtesy and professionalism Leo displayed and would not hesitate to call Meticulous when I *do* have something they can work on. Thanks for saving me money!

Honest plumbers that stand by their work.

These guys came in an gave me a reasonable bid to rough-in some plumbing for a sink in a finished basement. They had to route the drain line behind our hot water heater and to do that they had to pull the heater away from the wall a few inches. Everything was roughed-in and routed nicely, except.... the hot water heater (which is gas) wouldn't relight. Both the plumber and I tried it a bunch of times, no go.

Finally the plumber says, ""I'm not a hot water heater repairman and there's nothing I can do beyond this. Here's a number of a hot water heater specialist you should call."" Is this just an unlucky coincidence I asked, or is this somehow related to the work just performed? He thought it was an unlucky coincidence but he said if the hot water heater repairman comes out and thinks it's related to the work they just did then I should let them know.

Well that's exactly what happened. The repairman comes out sees that because the heater was pulled out that the exhaust from the heater is being sucked right back into the combustion chamber (it's a direct vent heater) which is preventing the heater from running. It's $200 to diagnose and fix that.

I'm completely convinced that when I take this issue back to Meticulous Plumbing that it's going to be a hassle, they'll give me grief and a bunch of excuses or only ofter to pay a portion of the bill if anything and it's just going to be uncomfortable. But NO, they reviewed what I told them and a couple days later sent me a revised bill with the entire $200 deducted from their bill. They even sent a card thanking me for the business.

Sometimes things don't go right, but they stood by their work and owned their mistake. This is exactly what good customer service is about.

Wanted to get a line to my fridge installed. They came out and gave me a ridiculous quote of $1,100. Then insulted me by charging me $58 just to give me a quote. Don't bother to call.

I wanted a recirculation fan installed in my house so the water in the bathrooms would get warm almost immediately without having to run the water for a few minutes. Meticulous came and gave me bid and could have done the job then but the pump needed an electrical outlet which I didn't have near the hot water tank.. So he had to come back about 10 days later. Leo did a good job installing and now I am enjoying warm water whenever I want it immediately.. So I feel the company was on time, efficient while they were here, and true to the estimation..

I had a drain backup into my laundry room on New Years Day...Yuk! Happy New Year, eh. I cleaned everything up myself with the shop vac that day and called Meticulous Plumbing early the next morning - they were great on the phone, even at 7:30 AM (I had expected to leave a message). Short story is they got to my house about 3 PM, a little earlier than promised, and snaked out the drain line which was quite a chore as it was clogged pretty good. Took about an hour. Tech was good, cleaned up after himself and made sure I was a happy customer. The bill was what I expected. I will surely call them again if I need a plumber - hopefully not any time soon! Thanks Meticulous Plumbing, you guys did a good job in my opinion.

Not only were they on time, they called first and were early. Fast work, cleaned up after themselves. Gave clear and detailed estimates, and best of all finished the job under budget! Definitely recommend!

They just need to get a cube to process credit/debit payments on the spot. That's my only suggestion.

Many plumbers have come out to our 1911 house wishing they hadn't taken the call... inside the walls they find a mix of pipes, repairs and additions... 1911? 1920? 1970? 1995? yup, it's all in there! Many plumbers are simply overwhelmed. A friend recommended Meticulous, so we gave them a call. Leo came out to give an estimate on installing a shower into the claw foot tub in our upstairs bath. He was prompt, good humored, and not at all intimidated by the vintage tub, non standard clearances, or awkward positioning. He immediately instilled confidence, started troubleshooting potential issues, and gave us a very fair estimate. He managed to fit us into his tight schedule quickly, showed up on time,and smoothly completed the work. He even tweaked a dripping faucet in another room free of charge

As I was walking down the driveway with him after a job well done, he glanced back at the house and asked how long we had lived in it. When I told him 16years, he asked if it used to be painted dark orange, and if we had had a lot of other plumbing work done at that time, to which I answered ""yes"". Turns out that Leo had plumbed that same bathroom for us back when he was an apprentice with a larger company, and he still remembered the contortions required to get to that tub outlet!

So, I guess I can say that Leo has been my plumber for over 16 years! I will certainly be calling him whenever I have another plumbing project.

Meticulous Plumbing is the only company I'll consider for plumbing work, based on the excellent experience I had with them. A year or two ago I needed to replace a toilet, and it was a difficult swap due to the old plumbing in my house. I called RotoRooter to get it assessed and they quoted me a price of around $1200. I then randomly called Meticulous Plumbing. I'm sure glad I did! Leo was able to quickly and simply fix the issue that was making my toilet swap impossible. I don't remember the exact price for the repair, but I believe it was around $150. He also answered my questions about my kitchen faucet, telling me what kind of replacement to get and where to get it. He even showed me how to replace it myself! I wish all businesses operated like this. I hope to never need a plumber in the future, but if I do I'll be calling Meticulous Plumbing.
