Our experience with Method Plumbing in the Northern Idaho area is not direct, but the actions of their representatives has assured us that they are a terrible contractor, regardless of their reviews. Four months ago, Method Plumbing installed a new sewer lateral for a neighbor of a rental property we own. In the process, the representative decided without permit and without regard for where the lateral went, to cut and leave uncapped the now open sewer lateral. It turns out that the lateral was a ""lateral in common"" with our rental property. This is a condition that is legal and widely spread throughout Sandpoint's older neighborhoods.

The result of this action was that for at least 2 and a half months, our renters unknowingly flushed their human waste and waste water directly into Method's customer's crawl space.

We were informed of the problem by the neighbor, not Method. In fact, Method chose to deny and ignore. They capped the lateral without informing our renters or us. Additionally, Method snuck over and turned off our renters water at the street without informing the tenants of the house or us.
The result, of course, was that immediately we needed to find emergency housing for our tenants since they had no water or toilets, dig a new lateral to the sewer 60 feet away, and restore the damages to our rental property. This emergency action, totally unexpected, was necessary to mitigate our damages and contractual obligation to our renters, even though the cause of these enormous expenses was the result of Method Plumbing's representative's arbitrary and incompetent actions at our neighbor's home. There has been no attempt to mitigate their damages and has forced us to seek the advice of legal counsel.

If you want to be caught up in a $50,000 emergency that is the result of Method's irresponsible and unprofessional failure. If you want to have the company ghost you and deny any responsibility. If you want to have to potentially litigate to recover your expenses and damages that are the result of Method's incompetency and then their attempt to cover-up their huge mistake, then by all means give them a call. Our neighbor did and ended up with a crawl space saturated with sewage.

Cole is awesome! My upstairs neighbor's tub leaked into my condo and although the insurance process was a negative experience, Cole made a positive impact on rebuilding my damaged bathroom. Cole was hands down the most knowledgeable plumber that has ever done work on our home. Really happy with the work Cole did to replace my old water heater that abruptly stopped working the day before. Top notch craftsmanship. He came out same day to diagnose my existing heater to see if there was anything that could be done to tide us over until the following day when he could replace it. Unfortunately the heater was finished, so Cole came out next day and did the work to replace it and it looks perfect. He upgraded some piping and made sure everything was up to code. He's also professional, and easy to communicate with. I probably asked a bunch of stupid questions but he answered them all thoroughly and made sure I understood what he was doing.
