Our heating went out in a super cold day and they sent someone out within hours! James was super helpful and fixed the heater in minutes. 10/10 service
Need a mini-split for heating (and a/c) since my boiler died. Mesa came out to build an estimate. Luckily Mesa is able to get the unit in by Monday and install next week! When I called they are very nice and helpful answering all my questions. The estimator was professional and courteous.
I will update this review after install!
I just had a new toilet put in by Tony and Jake. I appreciated their professionalism and friendliness. It wasn't known until they came that I needed a new toilet so they spent more time than they expected here and going to pick up a new toilet, but they were willing to take all the time it needed and to handle all the unexpected things that came up and needed fixing.
I am always pleased with the response from Mesa and the quality of the work they do.
They wanted $800 for 20 minutes work. We've had it done before; our usual plumber charges $180. He was on vacation, so we called Mesa. They also wanted to add an additional $400 for cleaning hair out of an easy drain. When I told them the price was far too high, they charged me $100 for showing up for 5 minutes to quote high prices.
Jaelyn W.The work they did went very well. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. The only problem I had was responsiveness via email prior to getting the work done.
Mesa provides professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate plumbers at a fair price.
I've used Mesa Plumbing for several projects and most recently to install a tankless water heater. Patrick and his team did a great job. They were great and easy to work with. Patrick took time to explain everything to me and helped me understand how the new system work in case I wanted to change any settings. He also took a look at several other projects I have going on around the house to offer some advice. I remain very happy and will continue to use Mesa Plumbing for future projects.
We have used Mesa over the past few years without complaint, but our most recent interactions were disappointing, to say the least. Terrible customer service, exceptionally poor value, and completely unprofessional. I wish I had checked the recent reviews before calling them again.
But, we didn't. We called and made an appointment. No show. Called and made another appointment, finally someone showed.
We had a split in the copper wiring that connects our evaporative cooler to the water. When the serviceman came out to fix it (total of ~15 mins of work), he said the fixture no longer fit, it was causing a leak, and we needed to replace the garden hose splitter with a brass one and get a washer for the evap cooler sillcock. Not sure why it suddenly didn't fit when it wasn't causing a problem before, and their team had set everything up the year prior, (or why he wouldn't have spare parts) but anyway... after a $260 service call, we went to Home Depot ourselves to get a new splitter and washer for the evap cooler sillcock. None of the available fixtures fit the existing evap cooler attachment, so we had to get a new evap cooler sillcock. Then the copper connection didn't fit... we don't have the right tools to cut it cleanly enough to replace the fitting, so we called back...
After three separate calls on three separate days (after being told I would receive a call back but didn't), they sent someone out. On this call, he was able to take a look at the actual cooler since we finally had all of the parts needed to make a leak-free connection. He then said someone set up the evap cooler wrong (reminder: it was Mesa was out the year before to service it and there was no problem then), and it's now leaking. Apparently, we need to replace the entire unit. So, at this point we have spent over $500 for less than an hour of labor and still have a problem.
My dad does HVAC but sadly doesn't live close enough to fix this. I agree with him though-- this is unequivocally terrible customer service. You should have the parts you need on hand and fix and double check things on the first visit. Don't charge for multiple visits if you didn't leave things running smoothly the first time. Over $500 for less than an hour of work is ludicrous.
On top of all that, one of the men (I think the owner) laughed at me, not in a friendly way, when I called and used the term ""spigot,"" though he knew exactly what I was talking about. There is no reason to treat your customers poorly for not knowing the proper terminology for your field. I don't laugh at people who don't know proper econometrics terms or how to run regressions. This is something that I would normally not consider worth mentioning, but it's like a rotten cherry on top of a terrible scoop of ice cream.
Writing this is certainly not a productive use of my time, but I'm so disenchanted in feeling ripped off by two Boulder plumbing companies these days I believe it's an act of responsibility on my part to share this information in hopes (that may be asking a bit much) that these service providers reconsider their business strategies.
I hired Mesa to help with a bathroom remodel. They were asked to cut out a cast iron drain for the sink and replace with an ABS drain and vent pipe. The plumber, Adam, handed me an ""estimate"" to sign before he got started. I looked it over and said, 'since this is an estimate, is there a chance the final bill will come in less?' His answer was ""No."" So then I proceeded to ask him what his hourly rate was and he said ""175-250"". So I said ""If your hourly has a range, and you haven't started the job, then don't you believe there's a possibility it will come in less?"" He said, ""Maybe"". So, I said ""That does makes sense to me so I'll cross my fingers and hope so."" While Adam was doing the work, he asked if I'd like this new white plastic cover to go over my old cast iron toilet flange which will help with the toilet function. I asked the cost to install he said ""$250"" so I approved. Mesa's final bill came in a bit less then the estimate, which was great. But two days later I found myself at Home Depot standing in front of $10-$20 flanges. So I went home and looked at the still exposed flange Mesa (Adam) installed (Oatey) so I could do a price check. I found the same Oatey flange for $18.85. So, what this told me is that Mesa/Adam charged me $250 to screw into the floor a $18.85 (retail price) flange. This is such a farce. I believe Adam was so annoyed with my asking about his hourly rate and the possibility of the final bill coming in for less that he uncharged me and ripped me off just to show me how powerful he is. Next, I sent an email toe Ali at Mesa and asked to have a conversation with Charlie, the owner, to give the the opportunity to redeem themselves. Charlie was out so I asked for him to return my call. He never returned my call so I canceled Mesa's follow up appt. to install the shower trim. Do they care? It doesn't appear so.
This was for disposal replacement. On phone they asked if I agreed to $50 travel cost and I did, assuming like other places this was just in case they came out and then you decided you didn't want work done. Fair enough. But when guy got there he had me sign I would agree to pay travel fee in addition to the cost of the job. In needed the work done, so I paid a travel fee for them to come from their Boulder office to my Boulder house! Then at the end of the work the guy charged me another $50 for rearranging the pipes under my sink, which I didn't agree to and which should've been included in the price of the disposal repair. Now I know why they won't give you an estimate over the phone. Unless you want to get gypped for an extra $100 don't call them, you can do better.
