Merlin is amazing. I have never met anyone more honest in the trades. He will give you the best price and come in the middle of the night and on weekends if you need him without charging an after hours fee. I can't believe anyone would say anything negative about him. They must really like to complain and hurt other people because Merlin won't quit until your issue is fixed and you are happy with his work. He is a treasure and the best plumber in town!! I feel so lucky to have found him.

Merlín came at 8:30pm as I had just arrived at the property and had no water.
He fixed the problem and then checked everything; the hot water heater was not working and he got it going...
Nice to take a hot shower after traveling all day.

Late over and over again. Not just a few minutes but 3-8 hours late. Happened before. No attempt to let anyone know. When this happens the quality of the work almost doesn't matter. Do not use Merlin, you will regret it.

He will scam you up one in and down the other. He charges $150 an hour and will Over bid a project at least four times his hourly rate. Buy the products yourself and get a price for the install. Or his hourly rate. Don't expect him to show up for at least three weeks after Initial appointment.

If enough people report him to the Better Business Bureau and the FTC he will get put out of business. We got to stop the scammers.

At least two of the five star reviews are fake. There is no one in town that will leave a five star review for this person needs he needs to be reported.

Very unprofessional... made an appointment at 830 am to fix are sink. Flash forward to 1030 am.... no show no text no phone call from Merlin. We eventually receive a text message saying he is fixing someone else's pipe and is running late. Well we have guest coming at noon so this is unacceptable and we chose to go with a more reliable business

I seldom trouble with negative reviews, tending to give folks the benefit of the doubt. But this guy is a a public menace. He's never ever on time, typically hours late. He never fixes thing the first time & must return repeatedly. He charges for services not provided, for example a shower cartridge & multiple air filters for which he charged but did *not* replace. His truck is a mess, a metaphor for his lack of skill & dishonesty. We call him Merlin the Magician because of his ability--poof--for making our water disappear. We went for days last year without water while hosting guests--it was a disaster. We ended up having to get everything re-done by a competent plumber. It turns out when discussing with friends that Merlin's bad reputation is well-known. We were the last to know. No matter how desperate, DO NOT USE THIS GUY. I'd rate him zero stars if we could, but Yelp forces me to click on at least one.

I wish I would have read the reviews before hiring him. He didn't show for our first appointment or even call. When I called him to see if he was coming he said he'd be there first thing the next day. Didn't show up then either. I should have called someone else at that point but most companies were a week or more out. When he finally showed up he used a foam product on my zone louvers which totally broke them. It was like pouring concrete and expecting them to be able to open and close. That just doesn't work. He came the next day to check and see if his 'quick fix' had worked, and before I knew it he had driven off. He knew he had done major damage to our system. I have now used someone else (at a major cost to fix what Merlin had done) and they were very familiar with Merlin. According to them he has lost his license numerous times!!!!

This was a great guy to do business with and any person my mother recommends is a class act in my book. He kept his word an came when no one else would!! He may have is own way of getting things done but he was easy to communicate with and did a great job! I recommend him to others an will keep his info for further business. Thanks again from me and my famly!!

P.S. - Our water heater works great it's nice being able to choose between hot or cold showers thanks againl

I have nothing but great things to say about Merlin Jacobsen Plumbing and Heating. I am building a cabin in Summit County, UT. Passing building inspections is not an easy task. I called a number of plumbers but could not find one who would take on my project. I was having a very difficult time due to my project's location and the size. I then contacted Merlin. I had a very tight dead line, needing to gain approval on a Monday so concrete could be poured the next day. To help ensure all was in order, he drove miles up the canyon to the job site, over the weekend prior to the Monday inspection. He was instrumental in getting my rough in work approved. He went out of his way to ensure this got approved. All of this at an exceptionally reasonable price. He sure knows his stuff and his insight ensured my project moved on without issue. I would recommend Merlin to anyone; promptly responds to emails ,phone calls and is very easy to work with.
