Gregg was called to investigate under my home in midtown Palo Alto. He came at night, went all over the property 'investigating the drainage situation' I advised multiple times that I was very aware of the landscape drainage and that the issue was with the crawl space under the house. I have remodeled properties in the area for sale and had very competent contractors work on the home and landscape. After an inordinate amount of time he finally went under the house, reported that there was a bit of water in the cement well with the sump pump in it, and that I needed to insulate the entire crawl space,and place a valve in the sump pump line,no quote given, contract prepared or service fee quoted.
He was called back to investigate a vibrating noise in a closet by the house sitter. I was out of town. This time Gregg quoted a price for a new furnace motor to which I replied that I would ask the contractor who installed the furnace to check it out. After calls on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and nine messages left on my answering machine at home, I left him a message that his services were not needed and to stop calling. The furnace contractor found no issues with the furnace whatsoever, but a transformer for the front doorbell situated over the closet door was vibrating on occasion.That was last year...he has asked for a 450.00 payment to which i wrote the above response and said that I owe him nothing...no work performed, no contract signed, no service fee quoted. He has since sent the ""bill"" to an 'agency' in Florida and now has an uncollected debt on my credit report. I will notify the BBB as soon as I am back in town...save yourself the trouble and don't even call this person.

Kregg provides excellent service and is very professional with his work. He gets the
job done promptly and is efficient. You can depend on him to take care of you plumbing needs with good care for sure. One thing that is very nice, when you call you can talk to him and get taken care of. Then move forward with his honesty to

Right before the holidays, the day after our big rain storm, my house suddenly experienced no working gas service. We were without heat, hot water and a functioning stove/oven. This was an emergency. I contacted PG&E and they came out but were unable to assist, as the problem seemed to be between the gas meter and my house. I went online and searched for a qualified plumbing company and found Menlo Atherton Plumbing. I spoke with the owner, Kregg Karpowich who is very knowledgeable and was able to pretty much diagnose the problem over the phone. I felt very confident in his ability and asked him if he would come out to help me. When he arrived, I had PG&E here again and a representative from my condominium complex. Kregg arrived and he knew how to work with everyone there. He completed his diagnosis of the broken gas line and he came up with solutions and an estimate to make repairs and restore gas for me.

It was quite a genius idea to connect my gas system to my neighbor's gas system as a temporary solution, which Kregg was able to complete the following day. He restored gas to my home very quickly where others had me prepared to be without gas for possibly several weeks. Kregg is very pleasant and easy to deal with, and I wanted to share my experience so that others in a situation like mine can feel confident when they call on Menlo Atherton Plumbing to help with their plumbing problems. Menlo Atherton Plumbing made my day and saved my holidays, as we now have heat, hot water and a working oven and stove - which is excellent, as the bigger issue with my gas line will likely take weeks to fix.

I have nothing but good things to say about Menlo Atherton Plumbing. I manage an office (staff size 40+) in Menlo Park which was recently remodeled, and our brand new Miele dishwasher was starting to have issues shortly after the warranty was up. After troubleshooting the issues with Miele service techs, it was declared to be an issue with our plumbing and not the appliance. Our drains were officially clogged. We called Roto Rooter, who came out and supposedly ""fixed"" it. One week later same issue occurred. I decided to contact Menlo Atherton Plumbing because I needed a professional plumber to fix the problem, not just put a band-aid on it. I was happy to learn that Kregg from Menlo Atherton Plumbing is very familiar with our building and works with a few other tenants here.

Kregg is the most thorough technicians I have ever met. He is very organized and his communications far exceeded my expectations. He sent me a write up of all the problem and offered several solutions. He not only fixed our drain, he also installed a soap dispenser for us at the sink in place of the unused air gap space. In addition, I was happy to learn that Kregg is a very good handman. He fixed a list of things in our office, and went out of his way to fix things that were not on my list that he noticed.
