I hired Mendoza Handyman (Alejandro) to fix my cabinet and baseboard early December. He removed the baseboard that blocks a dishwasher and needs to be installed back when the dishwasher is fixed, which he agreed to, took with him a screw from my cabinet saying that he will use it as a sample to get matching screws, and agreed to come back to finish the job if I pay him in full on that day, which I did since I thought he was trustworthy. That was a huge mistake on my part. Now, more than a month has passed, after multiple phone calls and texts, most of which he ignored, a few times with a pretense that he will come, Alejandro has now gone silent. How can a 4.5 Yelp-star rating business act so fraudulently? I rarely give reviews, and I already gave Alejandro ample of chance to finish the job he promised, but since there's no response from him for so long, I am writing this review so fellow Yelpers will be warned--please watch out for Mendoza Handyman's fraudulent activities. I'm now left with a kitchen with uninstalled baseboard and a still broken cabinet (and still missing the screw he took away with him), on top of all the wasted time I already spent trying to get Alejandro to finish the job he promised and which he already got fully paid.

I received very quick responses from Alejandro. I really appreciated he was so flexible on the schedule. He replaced mirrors, repainted the wall, fixed the broken toilet and shower head. He went to Home Depot to look for the parts for me when I added the a couple jobs for him. I will definitely to ask for his help again next time.

Great job at fixing the lock of our main door. The quote was honest and upfront so no surprises. They kept us updating the ETA for the repair and fixed it very efficiently. Going to hire them again. Thank you

No stars!! Made appointment 2 weeks ago and I confirm and no show! No response to why no show! I would not recommend his business. Should have better customer service if you own a business. I missed a day of work for this appointment. Don't believe the reviews that it's a good company I would put not even one star

Alejandro is top class! I hired Mendoza Handyman (Alejandro and Jesus) to remove old sink and replace it with new one. Re-grout the older kitchen tiles. Both did an amazing job at a reasonable price. When I pointed out its very dusty and to cover other areas of kitchen, Jesus covered and cleaned everything up nicely. No hesitation in recommending this team for similar projects.

Job complete! We're thankful and very supportive of the small businesses they have to offer in our community. I changed my review in fairness to separate between the quality of job and poor communication. I trusted their job 100% and they're fine people and very helpful in every way they can. They offer extras to complete the job outside the scope of the project. Communication and commitment is highly expected in every business. Thank you.

No show.
I gave Mendoza Handyman a choice of doing the job on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. They chose Saturday at 10:00am and I was ok with it. They did not show or call to tell me why they did not show up. It is 1:00pm now.
After texting to Valentin I found out he had family emergency and he could not call me back. We scheduled for 10:00 am Sunday.
Valentin came on Sunday and did two of the bathrooms. The third bathroom was my fault because I picked the size faucets for that sink.
We have scheduled for that work for next week.

We had a water leak that damaged both floors in our home. Not only did the fix the major leak, but they also fixed the drywall and painted. They are knowledgeable and efficient workers. They finished the job in two days, when other people were quoting a week or more. I couldn't believe how fast it was done, they were great a multi-tasking as well as paying attention to detail; like making sure we wouldn't have mold growing on the floorboards and walls. They looking into and fix other non related projects, when asked and didn't make set another appointment. I loved how they gave our home their full attention when working on it, not starting out project while finishing someone else's projects. I will be recommending these people to friends and family.

Why would someone who I told that I found them on Yelp not think they'd get a bad review when they don't perform?
I contacted Mendoza Handyman on a Saturday and Alejandro and Adolfo came over within an hour to look at my project. Alejandro provided a quote on the spot and we set up for them to come over the following day at noon to do the work. Alejandro did not arrive at noon and called me at 12:30 to tell me that he didn't have the proper tool do my job. He said that he had gone to 2 stores and they didn't have it so he would need to order it. He said that he would contact me when it came in to reschedule my job. I was fine with that as it seemed reasonable. However, a week and a half went by with no contact from Alejandro. I texted him to ask about status and he didn't respond. I also asked him to let me know if he was still interested in the work- no response. I finally texted again and said that he could've let me know if he wasn't interested instead of 'ghosting' me so that I could move on- again, no response.
My advice would be to look elsewhere to save yourself the frustration of waiting only to be let down with no response/action. I am now several weeks delayed in getting someone else. Mendoza Handyman might actually do good work, but I never got to find out due to the lack of follow through.
