Water everywhere was a reoccurring theme in our new home. We've had 2 plumbers come within a 6-month span and none properly identified the problem. I decided to do my research and all reviews via Facebook/Google/Nextdoor led me to Tim over at Melvin Plumbing. Thank God we found him. Turns out, none of the other plumbers wanted to get down and dirty. All these subpar plumbers wanted to do was to get in and out with little effort all while charging the most they could. Tim, rather, got down in a pit, removed a backflow valve and correctly identified and (most importantly) correctly resolved the issue I already paid a premium to other companies that said the issue was fixed. Double checked with a camera to make sure his work was 110% on point. Not only that, he brings experienced helpers (Dan) along with him to make the job go as efficiently as possible. Wish I found Tim sooner, it would have saved me hundreds upfront along with keeping my house dry every time it rained prior. Do yourself a favor and make sure Tim quotes you first for every plumbing job you may need. Thank me later.

A friend referred me to Melvin Plumbing. Tim was on time, and came prepared in a truck with a worker. They assessed our issue (old copper pipes) that I thought might be the reason our ceiling was showing some damage, but no drips yet. They discussed options and I approved the work, same day. So glad I did! They fixed the issue at a great price. Now I can move forward with updating a small rehab project, knowing the issue is solved.

I'm so happy that my neighbors told me about Tim Maas, Melvin Plumbing Services, La Grange Highlands. I had an accumulation of jobs, so Tim replaced two sump pumps, added a battery backup to one, fixed a leak under my bathroom sink, installed a new kitchen faucet and re-piped plumbing in the basement, adding shut-offs, new hose lines, etc. Tim and Dan are ideal plumbers: on-time, work steadily, are prepared for the scope of the work, carry the proper parts & equipment, have reasonable prices, and are both all-around professionals! While I'd prefer not to have more plumbing problems myself, I'll call Melvin if I do and highly recommend them for your plumbing needs! (My location came up as San Francisco, but I'm actually in La Grange Park, IL.)

Called and spoke to Tim. I needed my shower knob replaced and he saved me on not ripping into the wall and just being able to replace the part he was able to go fine it at the store...but he got to my place at 2:20pm he looked at the part said he would go and see if Menard's had it in stock. He found it and was able to comrades back and replace the part. Now he did that and was gone by 3:20pm. As I really do appreciate him getting it done , he charged $365. Talking drive time. One hour and about 15miles. I don't know just think that was way over priced. Never was told he was going to charge that much for the drive to fix it. Lesson learned.

Tim was able to call us back right away and schedule a time to come over. We had an issue with mice in our dishwasher (he said this was common) as well as a hot water valve not working in our bathroom. He came right out and helped. He was honest and did a great job. I will definitely be calling him with any plumbing issues in the future!
