Wow, just wow!

If I could give no stars I would! Not only was the serviceman an hour and a half late, without decent warnings that they may late, the woman I spoke to at the office was incredibly RUDE! I had called to see if there was anything that they were willing to do to compensate me for the inconvenience, and she became very rude. The whole phone conversation she had an attitude for no reason, no sympathy, and acted like what I was explaining and asking for was just absurd and made me feel like I was asking for something that I shouldn't be and should be grateful that they came and did the job. I wasn't rude nor did I have any sort of tone or attitude when speaking with her, so there was no reason for hers. She then told me that if they have emergencies that they come first before my furnace cleaning. I informed her that I understand things happen and so do emergencies and that they come first, but a simple phone call within a reasonable amount of time to give the client a heads up goes a long way; even if it were 5 or 10 minutes after the time they were supposed to be there, I would have been fine with that and understood. However, when you call 30 minutes after the scheduled time and say that you'll be there in 10 minutes and then don't show for another 45-50 minutes without another phone call or anything, then yes, I am going to be upset! I took off from work to be there for the appointment because we were told that was the only day that they could do it and someone had to be there. She then said that the total was the total and that's what I had to pay. I said you're really not willing to knock anything off for being an hour and a half late and the lack of communication between your company and your client? She said well what would you like me to do? Apparently, you have something in mind to make you happy. So what would make you happy? I told her that I wasn't sure because I've really never had to be in this kind of situation, I'm not one to complain, but this really got to me. So I suggested that maybe knocking something off of the bill or something off of the next cleaning. She then said well I am not giving you a free cleaning. I never asked for a free cleaning, I was simply suggesting that the next cleaning have some sort of discount, that's it. She seemed like she didn't care at all about anything that I was talking to her about; didn't care that her employee was an hour and half late, or that they didn't even have the common courtesy to call in a decent amount of time to inform me that they would or might be late. I then said nevermind that I would pay the full amount of the bill but I would never be using their services again!!
Also, the communication between the office people who schedule the appointments and the servicemen is non-existent. When we made the appointment, we informed them that we did not have the filter(s) and would need one, when they called to tell me they'd be there in 10 minutes the serviceman had told me that he had no idea that we needed a filter and might have to stop and get one, I told him not to worry about it and I would get it and change that after the cleaning. He showed up with two filters and informed me that I would probably have to change the new filter in about a month.

Even with the terrible office service I received, I will say that the serviceman Damian was GREAT! He answered all my questions, was polite, and made sure to inform me of anything that we should do and when to do to keep up with the maintenance of the furnace. However, I will NOT be recommending Meihl's Mechanical to anyone that I know. I would hate for anyone else to be treated the way I was treated.

Arriving at my cottage in AuGres Twp to find pipes frozen, the crawl space flooded and flowing 12"" deep at least not frozen! I turned off the power, called M&M and began pumping.
When they arrived they dove into the job ( I provided the waders ) so the stayed dry! Furnace was a simple fix for them and five (5) broken pipes, joints or fittings and we were back in service.
A WiFi thermostat gets installed so we can monitor and adjust to prevent future problems .... Amazing service on a Saturday by a business that was five star beginning to end!
All house generator will be the next discussion.

Had an emergency Saturday night. Doug called from Standish and was at our house within 2 hours.

The problem was a worn thermostat line which took a while to diagnose because it was an obscure problem, the mother board was also kaput, and we had standing water in our crawl space from a broken sump pump (which he also fixed).

Highly recommended.
