Wanted $5700 to replace a 50gal water heater. Another plumber did the work for $2000 the next day. People are free to ask what they want for their service, but 270% of market? Jeez.

We were notified by the water company about a leak. It was found to be under the house. After contacting 3 different companies for an estimate we chose to go with Meetze and I'm glad we did. One of the companies came at 4pm and not prepared to fix the leak just to get the fee for an estimate. The other called back two days later. Jarrett from Meetze plumbing came within the windowed time. He was very polite, came prepared to fix the leak and extremely professional. I definitely will use Meetze again.

Columbia residents deserve better than this company. It's time to hold companies like this accountable for not only their work but customer service. I contacted them over 3 weeks ago to help with a problem. They quoted me over $5600 of work that didn't even address the problem I initially contacted them for. They claimed it was an internal communication problem. Ok, so I asked them to fix the problem. 2 weeks later they won't even talk to me. My neighbors in Forest Acres saw their truck and warned me about their overcharging and other issues. Still, they won't talk to me. Wish they had told be that they didn't want my $$$$ so I could move on. Update: they just charged my credit card $4500; the remaining balance of the $5600 job which wasn't completed. The workers couldn't complete the work due to the original problem I reported. This is robbery!

What happened? This business has gone to the dogs. No respect for the customer's time, money or needs. I moved to Columbia in September of 2021. I called Meetz when I had a pipe burst. They came right away and fixed it (expensive but they were quick). Then I had them install a $5000 waterless water heater. Later, I had them install a new water line for my refrigerator and install a water pressure flow regulator. Again, expensive as hell but they came and did the job well. Last year, I had them install a new toilet with no problems. I was talked into purchasing an annual """"membership"""" for $95 dollars which is supposed to give me a 10% discount on jobs and """"priority"""" service. PRIORITY, my ass! Trouble started soon afterwards. I had a leaking water showerhead. So, I called to make an appointment. I was given a 1-4 pm time frame a few days later on a Friday , (not priority, if you ask me). I took off that day and waited and waited. 1:00 came, then 2:00, then 3:00 and then 4:00. No one showed up so I called and complained. Finally, one of their plumbers showed up around 7:00 pm. Hardly priority and definitely LATE. I complained to the plumber but accepted his story they were playing catch up since a freeze had done damage to more LUCRATIVE jobs than mine. I told him I needed my other shower worked on and it was going to cost over $1000, plus add a new water shut off valve for over $500. He had me sign estimates and was going to come first thing Monday morning. I got up at 6:30 am Monday to empty the closet space he was going to need to access the shower. 8:30 came and he was a no show. So, I called and was told he would be there at 10:00 am. He was a no show. I had an appointment with a doctor at 12;45 so I had to cancel. Priority service, right?? Then I called and complained to Meetz on Tuesday and their records were all screwed up and had no record of an appointment! So, I reschedule for Wednesday. On Wednesday morning, some company manager called to say they were sorry but promised me they would be there that day as scheduled. Guess what? Yep! No one showed all day even though I told the manager I was taking ANOTHER day off to be there. I had told her I could understand them running behind but why can't they pick up the phone and tell me? She said I was preaching to the choir and that was not how they do business. Well, they apparently, they do conduct buisness that way now. No one called to tell me they were not coming. No one did anything for me at all. So I canceled the appointment at 7:00 pm as he was obviously not coming. I demanded a refund on my worthless membership for """"priority"""" service. I will never do business with the company again. It has, over a short span of time, gone down a toilet they can't fix. For the ridiculous amount they charge, is it really too much to ask for a phone call to tell me they are running late or not coming? If you are going charge me a king's ransom, then give that level of service in return. After what a dog this company has devolved to I have to put them down. AVOID!!!

This USED to be far the best plumbing business in town. Expensive, as in much more expensive than everyone else, but you got quality service. That's all in the past, except for the expensive part. I've poured close to 20,000 into this company this year alone, a total house repiping and a tankless water heater and more. But they didn't complete everything that was in the contract, they take weeks to get back to me after repeated calls to finish the job, and then they have the gall to bill me $400 extra for work I've already paid for. When I try to address the 'error' they stall and avoid calling back. """"Someone will get back to you soon"""" is the answer I get week after week. I have several other issues to complain about, but this the one that makes me angry and makes me tell everyone I know, that this is no longer the good company it used to be.

Paid $50 for them to tell me that they can't work on my water heater because it's too old. Guess I gotta take it to my local crackhead.

They take advantage of senior citizens like me. I am new to the area called the number. They asked if I'd like them to come over today with no indication that I'd pay triple for """"expedited"""" service. I was shown a bill on a cell phone thinking it was $817. Looking over my statement I saw it was $1,817 - the next day we were in the basement and saw that the pipes still leaked. They sent out a different plumber that looked and told me it would be another $350 if I wanted fix they work they didn't finish. - stay clear of this place folks!

Meetze charged me over $400 to fix a slow kitchen sink drain. Their plumber did not fix the problem after about 4 hours work. In fact, after his visit the slow drain did not drain at all. The next plumber fixed the drain with an auger in about 90 minutes.

Update: Andy, from Meetze, reached out to us today. I have to give him a lot of credit for following up. He said that he would refund our service fee. Additionally, he said that he will ensure that the rep that came to our house will be upset to know that he missed something and will take it personally. I hope so because that will make him better. That said, I don't think their pricing will change. Large company, lots of employees, benefits, taxes, etc...do not add up to the economy of scale by which so many companies have been able to grow. But again, thank you, Andy, for having the professionalism and courtesy to reach out after reading these reviews.

WaterHeater On August 17 I had my waterheater replaced by Meetze Plumbing. Total cost came to just over $3,400. The company does not provide a breakdown between parts and labor. However, I see my Rheem 50 gallon 'Professional Classic' selling for less than $1,500, so I'm figuring the 4 hour job ran a lobor charge of about $475.00 per hour. The unit was expertly installed & the work area was left neat and clean. The skilled technician actually took less than 3.5 hours, but that would put the hourly rate close to $550/hour in my calculations.
