Ben and Kyle came and installed a new yard hydrant. They had to hand dig down 60"" through dirt, rocks and roots to replace the existing and broken hydrant that we had. They were very professional and very respectful. We highly recommend Mealey and Sons Plumbing!!!

Had a terrible back up in the sewer line. They came out and fixed it during some really bad weather. Good company. They did a good job and cleaned up after themselves. At a fair price too.

Second time I have used them in a few months for different reasons. First time was for cleaning extremely slow flowing drains. They were fast, pleasant and reasonable cost. These are the reasons I called them the second time to fix a leaky faucet, replace a garbage disposal and install an extension for my refrigerator ice maker. They are the best plumbers that I have ever had.

We have needed to call Mealy and Sons twice in the last two years to help us remove clogs caused by tree roots in our main line out to the street. The first time, they showed up fairly promptly, and worked for quite some time in the middle of a blizzard. During the time, our area was experiencing heavy flooding, so getting here in the first place was an adventure. They stayed and worked until the lines were clear, and even came inside to check to make sure there were no additional issues. I called again today and it is blazing hot, and although it was a different team who came to our home, the work was similarly thorough and they, again, stayed until the job was done and our toilets and sinks in the house weren't showing them anything else to fix.

I'm not sure why there are not many good reviews for this company, but we have had no complaints. My landlord also reported that their rates were fair and reasonable.

On Nov. 1, 2017 we had Mealey and Sons Plumbing come to our home in Quincy, Ca., to install a new shower valve for a bathroom remodel. Later that day, we were not able to get any hot water in any of our rooms. We thought that the water heater must have died, so we called another local plumber that had originally put in the heater. He drained it and ordered a new control unit. It took several days to get the unit and for him to install it. Same thing: no hot water. Finally, after 8 days with no hot water (and showering at friend's homes), some different men from the second plumber realized that Mealey had not put in the shower cartridge after installing the valve. We have called Mealey 3 times to tell him about these issues, and have never heard back.

In a pinch I needed to have 2 houses winterized in the Graeagle area. We found these folks who seemed nice and asked them to winterize the homes. $600 later EACH HOME, we called to clarify the bill, because we have had to do this 20 times over the last year and the most we have ever paid is around $200. When we asked if this was a standard fee for this kind of work, they threatened to lien the homes if we did not pay. I typically never write negative reviews, Karma and all that, but I feel it is my duty to warn people about these rip-off artists. Do not use them unless there is no other option.
