I had a scheduled maintenance appt for today with a timeframe from 8-12. I received a text at 8:25 saying they couldn't make it and I'd need to call to reschedule. My first call went unanswered. The second call, a lady named Renee, answered. I explained that I was calling because my appt was cancelled. She didn't say a word and put me back on hold. Super unprofessional! Call them if you have time to waste. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I was suspicious of McVay from the beginning. Look through all of their wonderful 5 star reviews and you'll notice that they all seem to follow the same pattern. It seems like many of these reviews are fake or they are written while the homeowner is being pressured/manipulated into it. McVay claims to offer free quotes both on their website and over the phone, but expect to receive a $70 fee regardless. My repair involved replacing a toilet wax ring, replacing 3 feet of sewer pipe, and replacing 5 feet of copper pipe - I was quoted $3,300 by McVay. A local plumber quoted me $540 so they wanted x6 as much for the same job. They also made me wait 7 hours and 45 minutes for my technician appointment. It took 5 days for the quote to arrive. Overall, I would not trust anything you read on here or Reddit unless you enjoy being taken advantage of

EDIT: McVay has been HARASSING me since I left my review. One of their pickup trucks sat across the street from my house yesterday and they have contacted me multiple times trying to blame their employee for my review. Their prices are extortionate. I was able to complete 2 out of 3 repairs myself with $88 in parts compared to the $3300 they quoted me.

Scheduled someone to come out and give me a quote for burst pipes. Their tech was here around 10 minutes; told me he'd send an estimate and left.
Weeks went by, never got an invoice or estimate and went with someone else. Received an invoice today for $70 as a dispatch fee, that I was never informed of. They are billing me $70 for essentially nothing, as I never got any estimate or quote; which was the entire reason I asked for a technician to come out.

I understand people's time is valuable, but $70 to drive out, look up at pipes, and never hear back from someone is ridiculous.

Beware of debt trap financing . They will lie to your face.
Do not use their financing . They will lie to you about interest charges. sales rep Will tell you one amount to pay then you will get another amount on your bill with separate interest charges .

Charged $149 to look at the water heater tank for 5 minutes, when it clearly needs to be replaced. Then didn't submit any estimate. They basically stole $149 and drove off.

I wouldn't know if this plumber is good.....LM that I had an issue, and they never returned my call.. Not good business if you ask me.

Kelsey Grammar from McVay came to our house to do two plumbing jobs. She was courteous and friendly. She even wore shoe covers so she didn't track mud throughout the house. She got the two jobs done in under an hour. There needs to be more plumbers of her caliper.

Two ""technicians"" came out to look at a clogged sewer drain and small sinkhole in the yard. They snaked the drain for nearly an hour but did not unclog it stating clay and soil were discovered. At that point, I was told a pipe had collapsed and the drain could not be unclogged. I was asked to pay $199 for their failure to unclog my drain. After they left, the actual plumber came out for the 5k quote to fix the collapsed pipe. I was told the $199 would only be removed if I agreed to the fix.

Skeptical, I phoned another local company who sent a plumber out the next day. He unclogged the drain in five minutes, which showed no signs of clay or soil, and we've been problem free since. After hearing of this, McVay refuses to respond to inquiries about their lack of integrity.

Wonderful company! On Monday, Ian and Randy came, they were so sweet and professional. They were dealing with my sewage problem. They worked so hard. They scheduled to come back today. Ian and Kelsey came to go on my roof. Both were very professional but felt like friends. I am very very satisfied with all their hard work. Thank you McVay!

Cody came in, took a quick look and set to work. He was able to quickly replace an ancient faucet and revamp the drainage from our utility sink. Awesome job, and at a fair price.
