So, I am needing to re-write my whole dang review. We hired Cody to paint our guest bedroom and bathroom. He did a pretty good job at this project. What I especially liked is that he added texture to the bathroom walls, which had none, and scraped the popcorn off of the bathroom ceiling and added a more modern texture to it. My only complaint is that he had to come back to our house multiple times to touch spots up. It seems like maybe the walls needed two coats, but he only did one. I have since spent a lot of time going back and touching spots up myself. I still need to go back and redo part of the bedroom ceiling because there are dark spots on it, for some reason. Overall, I'd give him about 3-4 stars for the painting he did. The best thing he did was fix our gate, which we hadn't been able to get to close for a while. It now closes perfectly, and he charged us next to nothing to do it. 5 stars for the gate repair.

Here's the thing, though.... he also offered to put tile in the guest bathroom. We figured, why not? He did ok on the paint. We'll give him a shot on the tile. Unfortunately, the tile came out looking absolutely terrible. It's literally the worst tile job I've ever seen. First of all, he didn't pick the toilet up to lay tile underneath it. He instead put a very thick layer of grout around it. See the pictures I attached. The tile level is uneven, the spaces between them are uneven, and they are cut unevenly. He didn't seem to have a plan going in on how he wanted the tile to look. What also sucked is that he scraped and scuffed the walls of the bathroom, which he had just painted, while installing the tile. He also left a BIG mess. There was mortar in the bathtub, which was really hard to get out. There was grout all over the sides of the toilet, the bathtub, and the doors. And there was literal trash in front of our house; for some reason, after unwrapping the tile, he left some of the packaging in front of the house. The tile work deserves 0 stars.

On top of all this, he has completely ghosted me. His phone does not work, but up until this point, we had been communicating via his wife's phone. And I know he got my message to not bother to come back and fix the tile because he didn't come back. I guess he was just happy to have his payment.

Make sure you do not use McSwain Services!!! The guy, Cody, shows up 7 hours late, doesn't call or text, doesn't answer phone calls (voicemail full, go figure), then gets mad when you ask what time he will be there. Seriously, some of the worst customer service you will ever receive, and it's a shame because I know his dad does really good work, and comes highly recommended. Here is my "finished" product. Price was good, but now I have to redo it myself because he is butt-hurt that I asked what time he would be back to fix it (you know, because I have a baby and dogs I have to account for, and he said he would fix it yesterday, which didn't happen) and copped an attitude. At least I have the time, since we're stuck at home!

Cody and his team were great. I needed to change some bulbs in a fixture that was about 16 feet off the ground. They were able to accommodate my request same day and were polite and efficient the entire time.

I will be calling them for my upcoming projects without a doubt.

I was looking to have my house repainted, change a few applicances and replace all of the doors in my home. Cody and McSwain Services were excellent! They were in and out in what seemed like an hour and my house is beautiful! Very highly recommended!
