Two other companies couldn't figure out how to fix our 15 year old Trane unit and suggested replacing it for 4k. Mike showed up and replaced a relay switch for $280 and she runs run like a beauty again! Mike came out same day too! Very happy. Will use them for all heating/cooling repairs, maintenance and will be sure to get a quote from them on any new installs from now on. :)
Fred N.Nothing good ever comes from a bad event. Just arrived in Florida, 1000 miles from home, and I received a phone call from my granddaughter that the house is getting cold. Turns out that the furnace had quit. Looked in my list of contacts and remembered that Mcquade had installed a porch heater for us a couple of years ago. Called the number I had, not realizing it was Mikes personal cell phone he had given me at the time of installation. Keep in mind that this was a Sunday afternoon. He told me ""no problem, I'll be there in 1/2 an hour"". He was, diagnosed the problem as a defective igniter, and replaced it. As he was about to leave he noticed the furnace had quit again. The blower motor had a bad bearing which would not allow it to run without manually giving it a push. Mike said he would be back Monday with a new motor. He made sure the heat would work by making the fan run continuously. He returned the next afternoon and installed the new motor. I would definitely recommend Mcquade for any future work.
Scott L.We moved in to our house 2 years ago and have had Mcquade service our boiler that was installed by them in 2014- fantastic way to heat the house and the service has been quick and efficient!!
When we decided to add air to our house we contacted Mcquade. There are several options when it comes to installing air in a house with no ducts.
The first option didn't work as expected but Mcquade installed a second option and made it right. The house cools great and we love the results. Installers Mike and Steve made the experience all that much better with quick and friendly work.
Thank you McQuade!-The Luther's-Romeo
This company is great. They got here fast, got the job done quickly and cleaned up after themselves before they left. That answered all of our questions and even helped with financing. I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again. They even sent me flowers a few days later!
Stewart E.TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION. On 6/30/18 I emailed customer care about my desire to have a Trane XR14 4 ton AC installed. Two days later, with no communication, I decided to call. I was told that they were slammed, but the service manager would call back that day or the next. Another 2 days had passed & still no communication. I called again, & with slight variation, got the same answer as before. I called a third time asking what was going on, & got nearly the same answer as previously, ""We are slammed.""
The proper thing would have been to tell me we are extremely busy, & unable to accept any new business @ this time. Instead they chose to be unprofessional by never returning my calls. I don't understand, as my $4,300 (in cash) is as green as anybody else's. I found a company (Comfort Temp) that respects my business. They always answer the phone, got back to me immediately, & had a service manager out the next day.
Been using McQuade to repair an old furnace for several years. Based on their assessment I followed their advice and replaced both my AC and furnace. I never haggled over costs and took an entire day off of work to have the $6880 installation completed. The crew seemed professional and kept a clean work area. However two days after the install we noticed a gaping hole on the duct work facing towards a wall. I took a picture of the hole and forwarded it to McQuade and was told the hole was a mistake and they'd be out to fix it some day soon. Five days later I haven't heard a commitment to return so I bought heat tape from a local hardware store and covered the 8.5""x2.5"" hole where hot air was blowing out into my basement, therefore not heating my home. The ""supervisor"" Scott tells me via text this evening that his crews are very busy taking care of people without heat and 10 new installs this week alone. So the message I interpreted was ""we have your money and when we are bored we might come back and close that gaping hole we left "". I thought I invested this money to avoid being without heat yet the company makes me feel as though I'm asking for too much when I'd like the hot air to blow into my home and not my basement. I chose this company because it's a family owned business in the local area, owned by family I grew up with. Clearly they don't appreciate my sincerity.
UPDATE: Today is Dec 8th and it's been 4 weeks since my units were installed. When McQuade finally came out to cover the gaping hole they created, Scott brought a crew out to the house with him. They showed up 30 minutes prior to the time I told them I'd need to leave by and once there, realized they had much more to do than to plug a hole. They called more workers to my house to cut holes on my walls and scope my duct work to figure out why things weren't running normally. They were at my house for two hours and left after plugging the hole but stating they couldn't call for the permit final inspection because it would never pass.
A week later a crew arrived again and cut a huge hole through the brick of my house allowing fresh air access for the unit to operate on. While they were working they had shut down my hot water tank and failed to return it to operating mode when leaving, resulting in my discovery at 6:00 AM when I tried to shower and didn't have hot water.
A week after the 3rd visit I called our Township and scheduled a final inspection because I'm weary from waiting for McQuade to finish up. Needless to say I was disappointed yet not surprised to learn the inspections didn't pass because of incomplete paperwork and a missing valve connecting my hot water tank to my furnace.
This brings me to today, 4 weeks post installation and I've yet to hear back from McQuade about an appointment to finish the install so a reinspect can be scheduled. I've called twice in 7 days and have received zero acknowledgement on either call.
I find it very disappointing that they had no lack of hurry to install the equipment and cash my $6800 check, yet no sense of urgency to complete their job and receive a final approval from the Township. I'd say my heart is broken, but that only sums up half of my pain because my checkbook is also suffering a loss to a company who just doesn't seem to care about finishing strong on a job good money was paid on. At this point I'd rate their company on a negative scale for customer service if Yelp had the capabilities.
Ryan C.I've been working with McQuade for many years now. Brian, Vicki and Michelle are always very helpful. Their staff is experienced and curtious and always a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend them!
Chase W.Called to schedule a repair for a small/slow leak on a kitchen sink. I was given the time frame of 8am - 12pm. The plumber called at 12:45 and said he was still 20 minutes away. Upon showing up he said ""the girls overbook us"". Nice.
I understand the $89.95 service call fee but to charge an additional $145 for the following is absurd:
""replaced jam nut and flat plastic washer on extention tail piece going to basket strainer""
If you know anything of plumbing this requires about $3 in parts and 10 mins or less of time. Save yourself the money and stress and call someone else.
Bethany W.Mcquade installed our new furnace in 2010 and did a great job. Totally satisfied. Today we had our CO2 alarm go off. They came out a couple hrs. after we called on a Saturday afternoon. The tech was very thorough and professional. Found debris in the exhaust but nothing broken. Very happy
After I responded negatively to their request for feedback, the company did provide a $100 credit off of the bill. I give them credit for that.
