We (my husband and I) use a home warranty company and they sent MC Plumbing to our house on June 22nd to fix our plumbing stoppage. (FYI- my husband, kids, and I were present the entire time Mike was present) Mike arrived & used a toilet auger to try & get the plumbing stoppage fixed. After using the auger for a few minutes, he said it was fixed and seemed antsy to leave. He definitely was trying to get out of our house quickly and avoided answering questions with specific and direct answers. I politely told him that I was pretty sure that he had only fixed it enough to flush a few times and, after he flushed it with toilet paper a few times, it started to overflow, which confirmed that it was NOT fixed. At that time, he said that it is ""solids"" (solid waste had come out in the end of the auger) stuck in there and that he would need to pull the toilet out to fix it. He went out to his vehicle to submit the diagnosis to our home warranty. He came back in and said he had submitted the diagnosis, but that it was ""not covered"" even after we had discussed that ordinary wear and tear was covered. I asked him why it would not be covered and why it was denied, and he said that he did not know and that I had to contact the warranty company. At that point he requested his $75 for the service fee and, although I did not want to pay it, I still did even though he didn't fix the issue that was normal wear and tear. Immediately after he left I called the warranty company and they explained that in the diagnosis he had stated that there was a ""Foreign object"" stuck in the toilet. This is far from the truth because there was solid waste that would get stuck on the auger when trying to clear the clog and therefore HE had determined that there was solid waste blocking the flow (but we couldn't see if there was anything else, therefore, the diagnoses should've not had ""foreign object"" selected according to our home warranty company.) During that call to home warranty, I went into the bathroom and looked at the toilet and not only did he not fix the issue, but he completely scratched and chipped our toilet to the point that it's not able to be scrubbed off, and the toilet is making a loud noise every ~30mins while filling randomly. (Which was NOT even an issue until he had left.) Our toilet IS older, but it didn't have any blemishes on it before he was so rough and careless. (Scratches are not a HUGE deal as it doesn't affect usage. But, with the way he ROYALLY messed up everything, it is so ridiculous and angering.) We hate that we paid him the service fee after he was done doing absolutely nothing but scratching the toilet (older toilet so the scratches can't come off), messed with something causing the loud noises, lying to the home warranty company, and had not fixed anything. Following the call to my home warranty company, as they instructed, I called Mike to find a solution after everything that he had done. First I asked him why he said there was a ""foreign object"" in there and he says he told them that there was ""something"" stuck in there although he had talked to them on the phone and he would've been able to select at it was a solid waste clog (which IS covered by our warranty and what was seen.) He said that if I hired him myself, (without utilizing the warranty company) that he would pull the toilet to get it cleared. I asked him how we were going to resolve the issue with the scratched toilet and he basically said that there was no way that I could prove it was him, so he wasn't ""going to pay $150 when he doesn't have to because I can't prove it."" (Although, people had been there before he arrived and I watched him not have the sleeve pushed down all the way on the auger.) When I asked him to call the warranty company and correct his diagnosis that he had sent in, he will not. From the very beginning, he was just trying to get in and out as fast as he could, whether the issue was resolved or not. By the end of the call with him I was even more upset and frustrated with this SCAMMER. I've never done ANY KIND of business with such an incredibly rude, careless, inconsiderate, unprofessional, and DISHONEST person! This is, by far, the worst experience we've had with any type of service. The warranty company said they will be removing him from their company database so he will not be contracted through them any longer, but that because he caused the damages- he is responsible for fixing them, although he is refusing. (SURPRISE, SURPRISE!) They will be sending a new technician to fix the issue that we originally needed addressed. We cannot stress to you enough how awful this experience was. We hope we can help others save time, money, and sanity by sharing this. I see now why this is the only place I can leave a review- they'd never have business! (Thanks Yelp!) He won't call the warranty company to fix HIS mess up or take responsibility for the damages! This was essentially a scam!
