Was having furnace problems three years ago--they replaced the thermostat. Was having furnace problems again last year, they replaced the thermostat. Tried to get the furnace to turn on yesterday---no go---took thermostat off, put the wires together and poof! the furnace came on---which means that the thermostat is not working after ONE year. I found out that the thermostat was a $14.00 deal at Home Depot. E-mailed them to let them know of my disappointment with the quality of the items they use which require frequent replacement ---no response. Also, had to double check replacement of faucet and shower water control----hot and cold was backward on both.

Be carful with this company. I needed work done in my kitchen and they said they would get it done in two days. They came and worked one day. Then when I asked if they were going to finish it the next day the guy told me they can't. They are booked for the next 2 weeks. So they did half the work and left me hanging. And his response was I'm Sorry. But if I need a quote on a complete re-piping he can send a guy out for an estimate.

Awesome Experience!!! We live on Downey and had this company Snaked several drains where other plumber wanted to replace entire pipe and the water flow is better than ever. Took the time to investigate the problem and gave me the best repair option I appreciate honest service providers and McKinnon & Sons Plumbing & Rooter Service is an Honest & Fair company which is rare these days If you`re looking for a plumber this is the company to call. I have no idea if this company has good skill in plumbing as I could not get them to show up to my house. I try to shop local to support small businesses. I made an appointment and took a half day off work and they called to cancel 1.5 hours after the appointment time. I rescheduled and took another half day off work and waited 2.5 hours. I called 5 times at both numbers and left 2 messages and then gave up. Finally got a call back late the next day with a lame excuse of phone problems. Like everyone in s. Ca doesn't have a phone you can use. No offer of a discount or any accountability. So I'm out a day of work and still have no water. If a company cannot respect your time as a hardworking parent that has very little breathing room, then they are not the ones to choose.

We have been getting service from McKinnon and Sons for over 12 years and they always do great work. Friendly, Professional, Reliable and Affordable compared to the Corporate Plumbers. They repiped the whole house years ago,fixed a major drain line roots problem outside(which they had to dig up), and recently changed pipes for a leak in the wall behind our sink. Totally reasonable prices and lifetime warranty, highly recommended:)

I have had McKinnon & Sons run a water line for an icemaker, repair a leaky toilet, install two new toilets, and replace a water heater. I have always been satisfied with their promptness, quality of work, and prices. However, when I needed to have a garbage disposal replaced, nearly everything went south. My appointment was for 1:00; at 3:40, I called because no one had called or shown up. I was told that they ""were running late,"" and wouldn't be there until 4:30 or 5:00. I re-scheduled for 10:00 the next day. By 11:00, no one had called and no one had shown up. Again, they were ""running behind."" Ordinarily, I would have walked away, but I had had such positive prior experiences that I rescheduled for the first appointment of the next day--figuring that it was pretty hard to ""run late."" I was promised half off on the disposal for ""my patience and understanding."" The technician arrived at the proper time. His cell phone rang 10 minutes after he got here, and he spent the next 15-20 minutes on what was obviously a personal call. I think he sensed my annoyance, and he ended the call. After working for about 10 minutes, another call came in on his cell phone, and he ""fiddled around"" with one hand for 8 minutes while he completed another personal call. This was a flat-rate job, or I would have deducted 1/3 of the labor charge because that is how much time he spent on my time conducting personal business. I did report this to the owner, and I received a polite ""thank you;"" I'm not sure whether any further action will be taken. I do believe that I know why McKinnon & Sons have a difficult time maintaining a schedule.
