They are reliable and their plumber's are polite and respectful. I've used their services for 35 years and they've been there for emergencies at my home and a rental property.
They do have a minimum charge for snaking a clogged line of $250.
$50 of this is a equiptment charge which was unexpected and new.

Maybe the good reviews are for simple plumbing jobs but we had a bad experience with them when we used them awhile back. We had a backed up kitchen sink and they were unable to snake the drain. After a lot of head scratching, consulting the owner, and then consulting me by asking what I thought they should do, they settled on telling me that they needed to cut into the ceiling of our master bed room to cut out a portion of the pipe the was clogged. At this point I should have consulted another plumber but I told them to go ahead because I wanted the use of my kitchen sink back. We have a three story with the kitchen on the top floor. This lead to days of having no kitchen sink to use and a huge hole in our bedroom ceiling since they did the work sporadically over a few days. Then the sink was usable but to not put any food or anything down the garbage disposal or our pipes would back up again. I consulted another plumber who advised us to use the sink and disposal and the kitchen and everything has been ok. They charged $1000 for the job and left me with very little faith that they know what they are doing.

Avoid them if you can. The charged for for 2 hours for a job that lasted for an hour. They technician did not know what he was doing. When I called the billing to resolve this they were super rude and threaten me with extra charges.

I have used McKeown for multiple jobs on homes I've sold for clients and they always do a great job. They showed up early and found the most cost effective solution for our issue. Jared was great, he was very helpful in explaining the problem and solution. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber in the Laguna Beach / Orange County area.

The plumber arrived at or front door at exactly 11 o'clock - which was the time of our appointment.

He wore a a face mask, and did everything he could to protect the tile floor from damage.

He was fast and explained the problem and what needed to to fix it.

McKeown consistently has the most courteous and professional service from the front office to the plumbers. They brought in extra help on the weekend to replace a leaking gas line. They Were thoughtful in considering the best approach to avoid damaging hardscape and plants. They finished the job on time even though underground they encountered large chunks of concrete that required bringing in another crew to jackhammer through the concrete. They also were the lowest bidder for the job.

We have used McKeown plumbing for over 30 years they were always reputable and honest. I have heard that there are new owners and I can believe that! We had a water heater installed in a rental and they charged us $1500 which seemed ok. A little high when i called other plumbers. Then 2 months later we needed an identical water heater installed in an identical rental and they sent us a bill for $2600. The EXACT job. We complained and they took off some of the bill but not to the amount of the first replacement. I have spoke with others and they all agree with me. They are now not honest and not reputable. Sorry Jack (original owner) You were awesome when you owned it!! Saying good by to this outfit and heard American plumbing is the go to. As you see i usually only write 5 star reviews but this I felt necessary.

You were at my property the day prior and did work to unclog a drain which took 5 minutes. Conveniently, right after the repair work was done, the same toilet had an issue with water that would not stop running. Your tech went back out to the property to identify the issue and apparently, it needed a over $200 repair. Unfortunately, you did not call me to authorize the work and just did the repair. Not what I would call good service. I feel as if I have been lied to and stolen from. I would not recommend using this company! Beware! Thank you.
