Male family member recommended McKenzie & Sons, Upper Marlboro MD, as he was satisfied with their work. He reached out to the company to pave the way for me. However, when the Senior Mr. McKenzie followed up to discuss my HVAC concerns, we went back and forth regarding my boundary that he wear a mask in my home (I was dismayed that the conversation was occurring over a facial mask). He disconnected from the call while I was still speaking. A technician called back while I was talking to my male relative explaining to him what just happened. He was puzzled because he had not experienced any concerns with the Senior McKenzie. I explained that female consumers are sometimes/oftentimes treated ""differently"" than their male counterparts. While on three-way with my relative and the technician, I had to ask what was ""wrong"" with the Senior McKenzie...why did he hang the phone up on me? The technician apologized. However, as the business owners, the Senior McKenzie nor his Son made any effort to do so. However, due to my family member's recommendation, I decided to conduct business with the company assuming that the Senior McKenzie had had an upsetting day. Business was completed (March 2023) but there was a lack of communication with the technician, where I needed to contact him twice for a follow up. There was a subsequent plan for an additional service, where I was unsure of the next steps to take regarding my HVAC concern. I asked questions concerning proposals emailed to my attention. However, I did not receive a response (even after emailing the technician to remind him that two or more days of waiting for a reply was excessive). I never received a response. At that point, I could no longer conduct any further business with the company...

I have had a few quotes for the installation of a new bathroom, toilet, shower and double sink. Out of the three quotes McKenzie and Sons where the middle. McKenzie and Sons have not only provided excellent service but also a great value to their unbeatable pricing. They do a lot of local work and have other major contract but will fit you into their schedule. Over all I cannot complain, they left me more than satisfied. Will call them up again soon enough for another plumbing job!

What great service Owen gave my mother and I! I called the office and they said we have an opening and they could send a service man out in about an hour. About an hour later he showed up (mask on!). He took care of a very hard drain clog and on top of that (because my mom is 92) gave her a discount. If you are in the Upper Marlboro area give them a call!

Tom (McKenzie) is a good and reliable service provider. He has done a lot of work for me from roofing to bathroom remodeling, to HVAC work. In fact, I am getting ready to call him for a another job.

Fast and reliable, it's a godsend when you need it! These guys do it all, from furnace repair to snaking a drain. Word of advice - call them when you have several odd jobs you need done at once, because there's an upfront fee just to have them come out. But in an emergency you won't care very much!
