I have an oil furnace and could smell oil burning throughout the entire house. Service tech changes oil filter and nozzle. Charged $218. I can still smell oil burning, tech said give it a couple days. I call back 4 days later, the smell is worse. I Informed the manager and requested a different service tech to come analysis this issue. Second tech opens the furnace and said the pump is leaking oil everywhere and I don't know how the first tech didn't see this. They have to order a new pump. Manager calls and states the pump issue is in addition to the work that was already done. How is this possible? Quoted me an additional cost of $355 to replace the pump. We have used mckean heating for several years and upon further inspection of past invoices, I've noticed that the nozzle has been changed 3 other times. Don't waste your money.
Excellent service at a reasonable price. We called McKean to fix a dripping faucet and replace the fixtures in our shower. I also mentioned we recently had an issue with a drop in water pressure. Pete not only found the cause of the drip, but also worked diligently until he figured out what was causing the loss in water pressure and corrected the problem. Shower pressure is great, new fixtures were just what we wanted, and we couldn't be happier with McKean and the quality of the work.
I called to have a leaky pipe fixed in my laundry room hooked to my central air. He came and fixed it but was unprofessional. Didn't wanna make small talk didn't even say his name or nothing. Professionalism goes along way with me. After he fixed that now my central air leaks. Never did before. I called they still want to charge me without offering any discounts or an hour free service nothing at all. I will not call them again.
Jamie S.Had a sewer line issue, the guy showed up and it wasn't fixed. I called same night, they came out again the following day and charged me more. He was there less time but still charged me for an hour. So apparently this place needs the money so bad they have to charge you for their poor quality work!!#neveragain
So that the novelty of ""all new"" has begun to wear off and we've amassed some everyday usage time we're doing this review more than two months after having McKean replace our home's cast iron ""stack"" entirely from the top floor to the basement floor and also remodel our bathroom. Short and to the point, very pleased with every aspect of McKean from meeting to get an estimate to amount of time it took to complete the job. Each day all the people on the job identified themselves, stated what they were going to do and when they expected to finish. When they left for the day they stated who would and when they'd be back and what they'd be doing when they return. Very attentive to keeping mess and dust as contained as possible considering the extensive knocking out portions of the walls project it was. Very happy with the layout of and quality of the bathroom remodeling components including the shower assembly and controls, new lighting, power vent, flooring, commode, cabinets and sink and vanity and much more.
After dealing with a very unethical plumbing company, we called McKean based on 2 references (our neighbor and my fathers church). We had a sewage clog, they came out promptly (within a day) and unclogged it with no problem. After snaking and unclogging the pipe, Allen stayed with we ran the washer, shower and flushed the toilet a billion times to make sure it was really unclogged. Charge was only $145. A lot less than the $6K the other crooked company (Gillece) quoted us.
Thank you so much!!
Jillian S.Called with a plumbing issue late in the day. They didn't have any room to service us that night but sent someone out first thing the next morning. He came in, was very friendly and knowledgeable, got our issue taken care of and was on his way after we paid our dues (which seemed pretty reasonable.) About a week later, Eric called from the office and had been going over their paperwork. Turns out we'd been inadvertently overcharged, he says, by almost $50... He needed our address to send out a refund. Great business and they'll be keeping ours! Definitely recommend. All around great experience.
